When it reopens later this summer you will be able to visit by picking up a free shuttle from Sullivan Park. Deerfield Inlet Park has a place to park and one bench which is the perfect place to sit and watch the boats go by. There is also a life ring that you can throw in the intracoastal if you see someone drowning. This park also has a Pandanus Utilis tree, also called common screw pine. It is actually not a pine tree at all, but is a monocot. The tree is native to Madagascar. I usually see them in botanical gardens. Hanging from the branches of the tree are softball sized spiky balls. It turns out you can eat them after cooking. I saw a video on the internet where the inside is pureed and turned into a dessert. Squirrels enjoy them too. The leaves of the tree can be dried and rolled into mats. In coastal areas like this, the trees can help prevent erosion. There isn't a lot here but if you just want a peaceful place to sit and watch the water or fish, this hidden spot is a great place to discover.

You'd never know it was here -- right along the intracoastal waterway -- unless you lived in this neighborhood. It's not the easiest to find as it's set back amongst the expensive homes, boats, marinas, and winding streets of Lighthouse Point. But it's well worth a trip to find it. There's not that much man made entertainment here -- no bbq grills or tennis courts or basketball nets or swing sets. What it does have is natural beauty and spectacular water views. There's a paved path to the middle and around the edge as well as some sandy paths. There are several spaces to park your car just outside the fence. Inside the fence is a bike rack. To the left of the entrance is the butterfly garden. And yes, we did see some colorful orange butterflies when we went -- but they were too fast (or shy?) for pictures. There are flowers -- yellow ones (sorry I don't know their name) and a number of green ones planted to attract the flying beauties. To the right of the entrance is a lovely large white Jasmine flowering bush. Heavenly scented. Inside the park are wide green expanses under the trees and several tented pavilions where you can rest and read or just contemplate nature. There is a bat house on a tall pole -- the bats eat mosquitos and are encouraged to visit, but I doubt there's one in residence. There was an empty bird house high up on a tree, too. There is an exercise area with instructions telling you what to do. But no one was using it. There's a sandy area with many coconut palms (and coconuts on the ground) and sea grape bushes that lead right down along the water. You could even dip a toe in if you're adventurous -- or just pull up a towel and sun bathe. In any case, along the water you get to see all the sail and speed boats passing by. And hear a soft lap as the water meets the shore. Such a nice respite from the hubbub noise of civilization. It was a welcome quiet space to rest and relax -- to get away and enjoy Mother Nature. So, come here -- and make every day Earth Day!

The parking lot was generally the same but the rest of the park was a baseball field but ironically it didn't appear to fit too well.... just don't hit a homer between 2nd and 3rd base because the ball will end up landing in Lakes Drive and potentially hitting a car. Eventually the park was leveled and redesigned into what it is today.... While I like it, I also don't like it.... No playground; No sport courts; No restroom; No athletics; The park has numerous concrete paths leading winding around the park and intertwining each other; plenty of landscaping so it is pretty. Great park if you are pushing around a baby in a stroller or a dog antsy to strut its stuff but no activities for the kids wanting to blow-off some steam or play with other kids. There are a few "memorial" benches and a gazebo so also nice if you want some fresh air or read a book

River Park is a small passive park located on a canal in the Deer Creek neighborhood of Deerfield…read moreBeach. It has a parking lot and in the center of the park is a gazebo. A paved exercise path runs throughout the park. What really stands out about this park is the gorgeous landscaping. There is a large Royal Poinciana tree currently in bloom and several plumeria trees. Along the path are memorial benches and more native plants. The park is very lovely. While this is a nice enhancement for the neighborhood there are other larger parks nearby in west Deerfield Beach like Constitution and Quiet Waters with more amenities to attract people. Unless you live in the neighborhood there isn't a need to come out of your way here.

There is a drinking fountain, clean restrooms, covered picnic tables, and even double swings facing the water, which make it a perfect place to relax. Watching the yachts pass by along the waterfront while enjoying the breeze makes this park feel very peaceful. It's an ideal spot for a picnic, family gathering, or even a birthday party. One thing I really appreciate is that the pier has life ring stations for emergencies. It's nice to see that safety details like this were thoughtfully planned. The area is also regularly patrolled by police, which adds a sense of security. The only downside is that there are almost always homeless people around. They haven't caused any issues during our visits, but it's something to be aware of. Overall, it's a lovely park with beautiful views and plenty of amenities for families with kids.

Beyond a gorgeous inter coastal view the park itself is pretty basic, no swings or jungle gyms for the children but there is a splash pad and some bright abstract art I think intended for kids to climb on. The is a covered pavilion with tables and chairs. There is a walking path and you can walk under the bridge to the other side of Palmetto Park Road. There are benches around the park. I visited to see the traveling flock of flamingos celebrating Boca Raton's 100th birthday.

They were among a half dozen sharecroppers who eventually were able to buy the land they farmed enabling them to work for themselves. Tony Mitchell helped those in his community get business loans and Cheatham Moore was the first African-American appointed to the City's Housing Authority. Mitchell and Moore were both instrumental in getting the city to create Westside Park in 1951 so that African-Americans in the segregated city would have a place for recreation. The park has now been named the Mitchell Moore Park and Community Center to honor the men's legacy. You can find the 16.1 acre Mitchell Moore Park next to Blanche Ely High School. Park amenities include a 10,000 square foot community center which has a gymnasium, arts and crafts room, meeting rooms, and kitchen. The park also has five lighted basketball courts, football/soccer field, picnic pavilion, playground area, lighted softball/baseball fields, four lighted tennis courts, volleyball courts, and the Houston/ Sworn Aquatic Center with 9, 25 yard lap lanes and 2, one meter spring boards. In 2021 The Orange Bowl Committee and the City of Pompano Beach partnered together to create a 4 million dollar recreation facility including a new football field known as Orange Bowl Field at Mitchell Moore Park. The Orange Bowl Committee's Legacy Parks program has provided over $21.5 million worth of improvements to selected South Florida parks and recreational facilities. Other improvements to the park included new synthetic turf football field, an electronic scoreboard, a new press box, shaded seating, an enhanced walking trail, and upgrades to the two existing baseball fields, and building refurbishments. Mitchell/Moore Park brings the community together. The park hosts many events. sports teams, lessons, and activities like summer dive in movies at the pool. The football field is state of the art and gives the youth in the city a safe place to practice sports and learn all the great lessons that come with it. There are so many recreational opportunities to enjoy in this well appointed park.

The park is big (over 8 acres) and it has a lot of amenities for locals and visitors, here you can enjoy Baseball / Softball, Basketball Courts, Volleyball, Tennis Courts, Soccer Fields, walking tracks (almost half a mile with nice exercise stations), and several playgrounds... For those not so much into active life and sports, you can still enjoy the park by using their grills, pavilion, picnic areas, picnic shelters. There is plenty of parking and nice clean restrooms. The park is open from 8 a.m to Sunset, every day of the week. Alcoholic beverages are not allowed in the park.Pets are not permitted in the park, either. Come by and enjoy this nice green space !

Everything was open. I enjoyed the running/fitness track which circles the park. The track is made of a squishy like material which at first I felt like I was sinking into, but by the second day I got used to. There were plenty of people using the park but it did not seem over crowded, it looked like parking may be an issue if there was a game or too many visitors. it was a pleasant place to spend some time while my son was practicing!

It's usually pretty dirty, and there's always some sketchy people at this ramp. Not steep, but backs up super quick into some trees. Docks also been messed up for a while. But hey, if you want to get deep into the Wilton manors backwaters quick, this is the closest ramp. Wouldn't launch anything more than a skiff or some kayaks

Meadows Park is a nearly 13 acre park centrally located in Boca Raton just east of Boca Raton…read moreMiddle School. Set next to a canal, it has a plenty of parking and many shade trees. A popular amenity at Meadows Park is its 8 lane, 25 yard by 25 meter pool with two diving boards. Resident children pay $2 and adults are $4 while non residents pay double. You can also purchase monthly, semi annual, and annual memberships. The Boca Mantas Swim Team trains at the pool and the pool offers swim lessons. Meadows park is also the home of the 1.4 acre Boca Community Garden which opened on October 16, 2021. The garden is sponsored by the Junior League of Boca Raton, Brightline, City of Boca Raton, Community Greening and Tree City USA. Garden plots can be rented by Boca Raton community members from $60 to $110 per plot. Residents can also participate in gardening classes. Inside the garden is a gazebo with seating. There is a new playground being installed that is themed to match the community garden. The garden smelled lovely and I really loved exploring it and getting inspiration for things I can grow in my own school community garden. The garden and pool make Meadows Park a special destination in the Boca Parks and Rec holdings. The park also has a baseball field, sand volleyball court, tennis courts, picnic tables, and grills, and a paved exercise path. The park will be even nicer when the brand new playground is completed. Come out and enjoy all this park has to offer.
