My husband and I made these engagement/wedding rings for each other in private lessons with Joe.

Joe helped me make an engagement/wedding ring for my now-husband in a 3 hour private lesson. After we got engaged, my husband returned to Silvera to make me my ring as well. I had no experience in jewelry making or metalsmithing before making the ring, and neither did my husband. In advance of the lesson, I sent Joe a sketch of what I was imagining along with some ideas for materials. He gave me useful feedback on what was feasible and what materials to use. He was well prepared for our lesson and had clearly spent time beforehand working through the best methods for making it. He also obtained the materials for the ring. During our lesson, Joe was efficient with our time, and somehow also totally patient and fun. My husband and I love our rings and hope to wear them our whole lives. Thank you, Joe.

I wanted a pinky ring so I challenged myself to make one :)

Joe is so incredibly patient and knowledgable, and not to mention "dad joke" corny which kept the atmosphere chill and made us laugh. :) So informative, I really learned a lot. Appropriately challenging for beginners, and very well stocked with the necessary tools, everything you could possibly need. Very impressive, and CLEAN too might I add. thanks for the complimentary coffee and snacks that was great. I loved my class so much, I wish I had the budget to afford all the tools to do it at home...one of these days! Thank you Joe & Anat! I SO wish this was closer to me! open one in San Jose PLEASE! =D

I don't know about the school itself, but because CNA BASE is associated with them, it's been a terrible experience. I did the 8-week course and they increased my intelligence and I am eternally grateful for them doing that. They increased my confidence & allowed me to build social connections with both fellow students and instructors. I want to thank everyone that helped me because not only did they believe in me but they also motivated me to be a better human being, full of compassion & willingness to assist during emergencies. Steve Albright is the lead instructor and he is gifted at teaching and he is hilarious with his style of teaching. This man is very much a father figure and someone I learned a lot from aside from the medical material, he is truly a pleasure to be around and he lifts up peoples' spirits even though everything can be stressful. Michael believed in me and expressed it in a way that I can never thank enough. I value my newly acquired friendship with Michael and I definitely felt his passion for teaching and "his" love for his students. He is a great instructor who I am proud to have been guided by in this process of becoming a Emergency Medical Technician. He believed in me more than I believed in myself and that is something that money cannot buy. Henry taught me so much and gave me a platform to grow and thrive upon. He was so amazing at teaching and building confidence without putting pressure and it allowed for one to practice like they would in "real-life", therefore it is impossible for me to thank him enough. Nav guided me in situations that are stressful her guidance in tough scenarios which is something I will never forget. Her military expertise is something that I admire and will never forget her words and they will stick with me forever. She also enlightened me with potential career opportunities for someone like me, she did this for all of the students and I'm 100% positive that everyone gained confidence from her insight. Kristian was an amazing instructor who sharpened my skills with his style of teaching. He really helped cement my confidence and that is something I truly needed and value. I know that he didn't just want me to succeed but to also help the patients/people that we serve. The time that we spent together was not nearly enough because he had so much more to give and I had so much more to learn from him, however the time that we did spend was maximized and as I mentioned I am forever grateful for his time and energy. Patrick is like a friend who I have known my entire life and he is a wise teacher who made the learning experience more enjoyable and he reminded me why I am even doing this in the first place. He reminded me of my core values and the type of person I want to be, which is compassionate, sociable, and an intelligent leader who can get things done under pressure. This man is a person that everyone likes to be around and that is something I wish to emulate. Overall, this has been a life changing course unlike any other course that I have taken. I truly cherish these people and they are all heroes which deserve everything that life has to offer because they are doing it from the heart. I am proud to be a Bay Area Training Academy graduate and I will do my best to represent them as I move forward in my life. They are truly all beautiful souls who deserve nothing but the best and coming to the academy was one of the best decisions of my life. I feel more equipped to handle family emergencies as my elders age around me and in my daily life. I am excited to continue my education and these are people that I want to keep close to me. I feel like i found my "people"/tribe. I cannot wait for what the future brings and: Thank you for everything BATA, I love all of you! Sincerely, Raul Angel Maravilla (EMT212AL)

I cannot stress how chill and nice he was. The course was taking a toll on my physical and mental health, but Scottie's cheerful optimism kept me going. He truly embodies positive energy and makes lectures so much more bearable. His storytelling and advice were very eye-opening as well. I regret not approaching him for help more often. However, unsurprisingly, it's very rigorous. For anyone looking at an 8-week course, you will spend 20 hours a week: 10 hours on lectures (MW or TTh; 5 hours each) and 10 on skills (Sunday); of course, with breaks in between. Lectures will cover 6 chapters per week, and you will take lecture exams every weekend on the day of your skills instruction. You should be able to dedicate a huge amount of time to reading through the course material (at least 20 hours imo). So please reconsider your decision if you're planning to work or study full-time during the course. Otherwise, give it a shot! Be cool and professional, and most important of all, make sure you have a great time. I promise you, it'll be worth it.

I just completed the 7.5-week expedited course, and I couldn't be more satisfied with the experience. First and foremost, know this: it's a fast-paced, demanding course, and success requires putting in the work. But if you're serious about learning, BATA provides everything you need to excel--exceptional instructors, hands-on training, and a structured approach that sets you up for real-world success. Scottie, the lead instructor, is one of the best teachers I've ever had. He's knowledgeable, engaging, and has a great balance of keeping the class fun while knowing when to get serious. He truly cares about his students and their success. BATA also brings in a fantastic team of instructors--shoutout to Kyle, Justin, Nadeline, Eric, and Tony--each of whom adds their own expertise and teaching style. With so many instructors, the course feels personal rather than overwhelming, ensuring plenty of one-on-one guidance and hands-on practice. From day one, you can tell that BATA is well-organized and genuinely committed to training top-tier EMTs. They focus on real-world scenarios and practical skills, not just textbook knowledge, which makes a huge difference when preparing for the field. For anyone considering their EMT certification--whether your goal is becoming a first responder or using it as a stepping stone for another route like medical school--you will be in great hands at BATA.

Don't waste your time or money. I went into this school with high hope's and every excited to start…read moretraining for HVAC. Not even a month into it and I was regretting and dragging my feet to in everyday. My 1st instructor taught use more about his personal life then the actual subject. Didnt follow the way he was supposed to teach us whiched caused a big issue for those who were going to go into the next class. He passed everyone regardless. Had a motor project and passed us all even though none of us got the motor to work. He didnt really even try to get it running. You don't learn in the traditional way. You don't learn from A-Z. They will throw you in wherever the class is currently at. So you maybe learning the very end of the book before you even learn the beginning of the book which is bad if you are completely new to the subject and don't have any knowledge or experience. You don't jump into HVAC right away which is normal. You'll be doing electrical theory but my instructor didn't even go over HVAC electrical. I was learning more how to be an electrician then HVAC technician. Once I got into HVAC I was told in was going to take my certification test at the end of that month. Which is beyond stupid. They gave me a study packet to help prepare me for the test. By the time I had to take the test I failed of course but wasnt worried. Was told i had 3 attempts to take the test. The very next day after I took the 1st test i was told to take it again, and again I failed. The day after the 2nd test I was told to take it again and use the study packet because the head of the campus wants us to pass. Probably to give him a bonus or something like that. Well I'm not going to pay them to cheat on my future. I tried to talk them but the head of the campus "wasn't in today". I tired to call and kept going in to talk to him about why they wanted me to cheat. But kept getting the same response. I called them and told them I was dropping out because the cheating was the last straw. Then it seemed like they actually cared about my problem. I finally got calls back from the school and told them why I was leaving but the lady seemed not to really be paying attention and wanted me to go in and sit down with the head of the campus. I wasn't going to waste my time with them anymore. Said in was going to go in but didn't. I told them about it and they didn't seem to care until I left.
