Three of them responded quickly and provided in-depth project bids. I selected Chavez Roofing and Construction LLC and I'm glad I did. My house is a tall skinny with a steeply pitched roof. This project impacted not only me, but the neighbors on either side of me. Caleb and his crew had to fight with multiple demons of morning frost on the steep roof, and early sunset bringing the day to a close. The project took a bit longer than anticipated, however, each night before they left, they cleaned up the mess that inevitably lands between the houses. Caleb and crew were all polite and respectful of my neighbors and our properties. Caleb is a delight to work with. He communicates well and frequently, knows what he's talking about, and oozes sincerity and pride in his product. Oh, the 4th company? Their bid finally arrived the day Chavez Roofers were packing up for good. Their bid was also considerably higher than any of the other bids I received. Sometimes I'm hesitant when something is "too good to be true" but Caleb seemed very genuine and meticulous. Best decision I've made in a while. Him and his team were punctual, considerate of the mess and noise and did a phenomenal job. Even walked around with magnets to make sure my kids or dogs didn't step on a stray nail. He referred his uncle to me for house painting and he also was spectacular. At the end of the day they are good, kind, detail oriented people who have gained a massive fan. One knock on them that can't be left unsaid...he's a Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Unfortunate, but nobody's perfect lol.

Work began on 9/13/2023 and was scheduled to be completed by 11/2/2023. At first, communication was great, and he even set us up with an app to view daily updates on our project. However, he only posted updates during the first few days. The demolition was prompt, and for the first couple of weeks, there were roughly 2-3 workers at the house throughout the day. Unfortunately, the workers often didn't know what they were supposed to be doing and would ask us for direction when we stopped by. After week two, there was only one worker (James) at the house, if anyone was there at all. It was his first and only time working for Shawn. James was overwhelmed and pulled in many directions due to Shawn's lack of oversight and poor project planning. Shawn often redirected James to work on other houses, including his own personal house. Shawn never once worked on our home himself. The most he ever did was haul away the trash dumpster. Shawn constantly made excuses and blamed us for issues like "our tile and grout selection," even though we picked tile from a store he recommended and only provided a grout color, not a specific product. Shawn's failure to order products on time caused delays, and we lost our selection for our kitchen countertops. We chose our countertops in September, but Shawn didn't order them until late November. Shawn constantly contradicted himself & his contradictions costs us thousands of dollars in addition to what was in our work order. He couldn't reconcile billing or keep up with change orders and invoices. He failed to apply payments properly and always had an excuse for everything. We had unapplied payments for months sitting in an untouched portal. In mid-December, six weeks after the contract should have been completed, Shawn claimed no workers had shown up because we hadn't paid him, even though he never sent an invoice. When he finally sent an invoice, we paid it the same day, despite the incomplete work. We always paid on time, per our contract that he failed to honor. The project dragged on until February. In the end, there was no "thank you for your business" or a final walk-through on our $95k project.

I would give zero if I could. Worst contractor ever. My remodel cost me so much more money to fix…read morethe problems I was left with after hiring him. If you hire him for flooring please know the floor boards will not be included. Nor will they haul away the debris. Another added cost because now the floorboards need to be added back. So you're stuck with paying someone else to finish his job. When they removed the toilet to replace to floor, the toilet was left in my front yard! I had to have it reinstalled by someone else. He installed my kitchen sink and 2 weeks later learned it was not done right and my kitchen flooded. No attention to detail and takes no pride in his work. Hire anyone else. I have pictures and proof. It will cost you so much more money to fix any work done by Rendon Construction.
