We spent our first day touring new homes and I told them to pick a room and make it theirs. We snapped pictures like we lived in the house of our choice. My aunt and uncle let us stay in their home rent free with no expiration date. I told them in a year we would be out. They insisted we could stay as long as we needed to and kept us fed. Still, "free rent" is still rent and renting is no fun. The home market was unreal in that first half of 2022. I had no idea how I'd pull it off, but I wanted to give my family the best. A new home builder wouldn't give us the time of day unless we got pre-approved with their in-house lender. Flooded with business, they eventually stopped returning my calls. Two of my friends with big, beautiful houses told me I would never get approved. One told me to save up a huge downpayment and take an ugly high interest loan. The other went so far as to bet me $10,000 it couldn't be done. Just when I was ready to give up, a friend in the industry connected me with Sophia. Finally, I had a judgement-free zone. She said my situation was nothing to worry about because they had tons of resources. After collecting our information, The Fuentes Group got to work.
