I tried to schedule an appt for a consultation and the person who answered couldn't have been less friendly. She kept repeating there is a $350 charge for a consultation and she would need to confirm there isn't a conflict that would be a problem for the firm. It was all and all a very strange two minute conversation wherein I decided to call elsewhere. I have no problem paying any fee but prior to even getting to the point of whether I would be making an appt she mentioned it 3 times and was basically trying to dissuade me from making one. This law firm represented me in a child custody dispute. To say the least, I feel their representation was horribly inadequate. Continually, I had to badger them to do discovery tasks. Routinely, they were late for scheduled meetings that would end up getting cut short. Mr. Simmons found it difficult to focus on my legal concerns. Frequently, he was attempting to talk over me while I was attempting to explain the legal issues. At trial, the attorneys spent considerable time focusing on facts that were old and only marginally relevant; leaving very little time to discuss those facts that were current and relevant. In its order, there was criticism from the court on this very point. I am certain they didn't know enough of the current, relevant facts to make a thorough presentation to the Court. Subsequently, I have no doubt, the Court didn't have a thorough understanding of the facts to render a fair decision that was in the best interest of my daughters.
