Half of a breakfast sandwich with egg, cheese, and avocado on sourdough bread
    Nicki L.

Simon's has a humble, neighborhood feel to it! Definitely not one of those instagrammable cafés. Several patrons interacted with the staff as though they were regulars. Local flyers, art, and fun notes adorned the walls. As a visitor to the neighborhood, it was sweet to see. The service for food was very quick and the prices were reasonable. I got an egg & cheese & avocado for $9. They don't prepare eggs fresh (seemed like one of those microwaved blocks) and the cheese wasn't melted, but the avocado was fresh! Not a stellar breakfast sandwich, but it did the trick. Drinks service took a little longer, but not too bad. I'd say this is a solid, basic café.

Sticky Bun, Honey Latte, Iced Americano
    Connie L.

Interior is cramped and the music is a bit too loud - not the best place for studying. Sticky Bun was okay - a bit stale but the syrup had nice flavor. Their honey latte was actually not too sweet, but the flavor wasn't anything special. Same thing with the Iced Americano, it was about as average as it gets. Service was decent, the baristas explained the menu well and seemed nice. Probably wouldn't go out of the way to come, but wouldn't mind dropping by if we were already in the area.

    Cappuccino

This place has amazing cappuccinos! The espresso is bold and the milk is foamed perfectly, thick but still pourable for some cute latte art. They have indoor seating and a few outdoor tables as well. They also carry a selection of pastries, although none of these have stood out for me. Go for the coffew!

    BLT on ciabatta bread

Love this place!! They aren't limited to coffee. They have delicious sandwiches! I have had their BLT with avocado on ciabatta bread twice now. It is super yummy and quite affordable (less than $10). I will definitely be going back for coffee and sandwiches again!

I'm the world's fussiest espresso drinker, and their Gibralter (espresso coffee with milk) is quite good. I have given up on a bunch of local (cambridge, arlington) places that used to be good, but I haven't tried most of them in a couple of years. The 1369 has been just awful the last time I was there (2 years ago) after once having been among the best I'd ever tasted. It's a nice place to be, they let me bring my dog in, and the baristas are very nice.

I can honestly say it's one of the best little cafes we've ever visited. I had never tried ube before, and for anyone unfamiliar like I was, it's a purple yam. I ordered the Banana brulee Cold Foam, and it was incredibly refreshing and packed with the perfect blend of flavors, topped with fresh bananas. It was absolutely delicious! The bread completely surprised me. It was evenly baked, incredibly moist, and somehow crafted to pure perfection. The ice cream was a treat as well, but honestly, everything we tried was phenomenal. We can't wait until our next trip to Massachusetts just so we can enjoy a few more bites. I also loved the purple theme throughout the cafe, although maybe I'm a little biased since purple happens to be my birthstone! One of my favorite touches was the owners' book, where you can see pictures and learn more about their story. It really adds a personal touch to the experience. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and we would definitely recommend this place for a quick snack, dessert, or beverage. There is some temporary street parking available as well. If you're in the area, Kuya Jay's Ube Cafe is absolutely worth a visit!

The wait wasn't too bad and the menu had a good selection of ube flavored drinks and treats. The spot is located in this public space with nice lighting and some seating. The area also does cooking classes and has some areas to study. I actually got two drinks to try both and they were tasty - not amazing, but not bad given the price. Overall, I didn't mind the experience, but I have seen some troubling things online regarding permits that deter me from coming back unfortunately. Drinks tasted fine though!

I've even popped into the photobooth on a quiet day, which was a fun experience. Today I ordered ahead and found a seat near the back. I went up to the pickup counter a few minutes before the estimated pickup time and watched as people got their orders. A few minutes after my pickup time when the rush died down a little (order status was still pending), I still didn't hear my name or see my strawberry lemonade and bagel sandwich on the counter so I checked in with an employee. I gave them my name and the employee gestured to a hot latte. It obviously wasn't my order so I asked again if there was an order for Deborah and again, the employee rather impatiently insisted that the latte was mine. I had to clarify my name again before they finally took a look at a bagel that had been sitting right in front of them. They didn't even apologize and said something about someone else taking my strawberry lemonade before finally making me my drink. My drink was good but my sandwich was lukewarm. Weird interaction that left a bad taste. I've never had a strong reason to come back to Diesel but I now have a reason to stay away.

The people are always smiling and although dogs are not allowed but they do let you in with your buddy for picking up orders. That's a plus for me as I mostly will order coffee for pickup when am there with my doggo. Woohoo...
