His offer was very fair, and he even asked if I wanted to keep the amethyst stone from one ring, since I collect rocks and minerals. I took in a small bag of gold to sell plus 4 rings I wanted to see how much they were worth before I decided to sell. He quoted me a price on EVERYTHING but refused to give me individual pries. Told me to shop around he didn't have time to help me. How can I compare if I don't have anything to compare it to? He practically told me to leave. The owner, Simon followed me to the car after I voiced my opinion of disappointment. He explained that they only have time for the people who are willing to sell no matter what the sell price offered. But he would price them individually to keep me from leaving with a BAD experience. Well I got the prices individual so I can compare for a good deal but had already decided I would not sell to Simons Jewelry. I was a customer and felt like I deserved to be treated like one. I would rate this jeweler "0" stars if I could. I walked into the jewelry shop a few days ago wanting to sell my diamond ring. When I walked in, nobody said hello. At the time, the 2 workers were with customers. Oh, and yes, the place stinks like cigarettes. Would not recommend if someone is allergic to smoke. After a few mins, someone was available to look at my ring. The lady looked at it through her magnifying glass and was not able to locate a label. Which we knew it was a specially made ring and we knew that it didn't have a label. She stated that the other person had to test the gold and see what it was. She handed it over to him and he didn't check if it was 10k or 14k. He weighed the ring and very rudely offered us $140 dollars for the ring. He didn't check the diamonds to see if they were real. I said ok, that is what you are offering us for the gold? what would you offer us for the diamonds? He then stated that he was offering us "$70.00 for the diamonds and the rest was for the gold". I was shocked and took the ring out of his hand and walked out. As I was leaving, he told us "the market is flooded with diamonds". I do not care if the market is flooded with diamonds.. your company is supposed to do what is best to make us a offer.... BTW, that ring was appraised for over $6,000. That ring has been in our family for over 20 years... and guess what, the ring was appraised 20 years ago for $6,000. Value in diamonds have not decreased... you have forever lost a customer and I would not recommend selling your gold or diamonds at this location. I would check around town. read more
