If you are heading south through Stockholm, turn right at the big park on the river and--just before the train tracks, look down and to your left and you'll see it. The owner is friendly and helpful and the variety and condition of the records is outstanding. I found one of my favorite albums of all time (Music From Big Pink by The Band, original issue) for what I call The Nice Price. I also purchased albums by Lenny Cohen, the Scorpions, Sinatra, and a rarely seen disc by Alexander O'Neal (!). I will note, I saw Joy Division, Accept, Coltrane, Woody Guthrie, and much, much more. You'll pay for the exceptional find, but you'll pay a more than fair price and small store owners deserve to make a living--so support them! Albums are originals, not reissues and are almost uniformally in excellent condition. This store is moving to a bigger location in Maiden Rock, which will enable the owner to display even more albums!

If you're down to scrounge, this place might be for you (I'd just urge you to wash your hands after). That said, I specifically went here today because I needed a stapler. Mine went missing when I moved (probably in some box I've yet to unpack in my storage unit), and there's zero need to purchase a brand new stapler when I know I can get an old reliable Swingline from a thrift place like this (plus, I remembered on my first amble through here that they had a whole basket of staplers). Sure enough, I was able to acquire a stapler. But you can bet your ass that I brought along some staples to test out said staplers... the first one I picked up had a busted spring, but the second was fully functional. Both had been priced at $3. I mention this simply as a word of warning to consider testing before you buy.) I also picked up a bobbin thread case and a quart sized bag of crayons (both priced at $3) while I was there. This place is good for finding the kind of craft stuff your granny would keep around at a low price. And honestly, you're doing the environment a BIG favor to snag this kind of thing off a thrift store shelf rather than "convenience buy" it off Amazon or whatever. You can save money and feel good about yourself. The rest of the store has stuff like glassware, clothing, kids stuff, and holiday decor. It's not all amazing stuff. I reckon a lot of folks donate stuff they don't care to sort through when an elderly parent finally kicks it. The employee behind the checkout counter was a little slow to bother acknowledging me, but once we were interacting, they were friendly enough and wished me a good day; seemed like they were happy I actually bought something instead of just browsing.

It's the perfect distance from Lake City (10 min drive?) and Redwing so if you're staying in either, then you're able to take a short little road trip. I think one of the things I really love about this place is how their antiques are in such good condition. A lot of times, when I go to antique stores there's always a stain or something on the clothes but I've never found anything like that at the store, which I really applaud them for. It shows how selective and intentional they are with the pieces that they keep in their store. It's not super easy to find a three-piece suits or two piece sets from 50 or 60 years ago. Especially in the condition they're in here (see: red 3 piece set) It's really well organized which I can't say that for all antique stores. And if you're into crystals, cacti or air plants, they also have those in store too. They got plenty of artsy books. And I believe they do have fitting rooms so I've personally never use them. They do have Apple Pay, which is really nice for me who always forgets to bring her card places. And if nothing else, you'll probably get a good photo for your VSCO, when stopping by.
