A very professional salon experience. Mary is experienced, classy, and knowledgeable. I came in with some serious hair drama and Mary sorted it out. This salon has the leaning wash bowls - these are FABULOUS! I am not going to lie the price is not cheap. But many times you get what you pay for and in this case paying more means you are getting more - way more. They also provide an itemized receipt at the end of your service - I have never seen a salon be so honest about what exactly you are paying for. Nice touch! All the stylists are kind and supportive. I literally felt like there was a room full of cheerleaders all encouraging my beauty. Simply Devine has a large stock of Moroccan Oil products. The only downside to this salon is the location - it is a bit difficult to turn in and out of off of Telshor because of the traffic and the turning lane in relationship to the light. First I wanted to say the staff was really friendly and nice and welcoming. This rating has nothing to do with their customer service. This rating has to do with the money I feel that I have wasted with this salon. I have had my hair permed for 2 years now so I have a good understanding of what I want my hair to look. I have provided the stylist pictures of what I look like with the type of perm I want. I ask for a short style with tight curls. Because I have straight hair, it takes a while for the chemicals to set in so my normal perm appointments take up to maybe 2-3 hrs. I am new to the Southwest area so when I saw that this salon does men's perms I was excited since I was not finding any luck finding salons that do men's perms. Throughout the appointment I've had to tell the stylist to make my hair shorter. She said she would perm it first and then cut the hair. What that did was instead of my hair having curls, my hair ended up looking like hooks at the end because she cut the parts that curled. Also, she only left my hair to perm for 20-30min. I even questioned her that it seems like a very short time to perm and she said without hesitation that it's suppose to be this amount of time. I also mentioned to her how my old stylist would take an hour for me to let the perm set in and she still didn't acknowledge it. Long story short, after a week, my hair is back to being straight and the curls never set in (and yes I waited 2 days to not wash my hair with other chemicals or go swimming). I have wasted $100 on a style that I never got. read more

I see my review is getting taken down. This is my hair when I left. Before it was just brown over everything. I was in tears as they charged me $360 to look like this. I asked for my money back because I didn't feel this was worth $400 and the owner told me she wouldn't and that there is nothing wrong with my hair. When she finally agreed to give me some of my money back, she said she would refund my card because she had to call someone and she never did. I have never had a bad experience anywhere before this salon. Save yourself and go to a different one. read more

Be advised if you try to make an appointment online, they may not actually have the service available. After hearing about them, I made an appointment online and was pleased to find they had an option for a $20 haircut from an apprentice. A few days later I received a voicemail about my appointment. I called back the day before to follow up and was told because I made an appointment online they like to follow up to make sure I will receive all the services I would want. They said I was all set for my appointment. I showed up today for my appointment and the girl at the counter informed me that they don't have an apprentice on staff. She asked who I spoke with yesterday and I could only remember it was a male. They were very focused on who I spoke with...... When I asked what the cost of my haircut would be, the female owner said it would be $45 and asked if I knew what "apprentice" meant....... I do. Overall, I was surprised that for a new client the owner wouldn't honor the price that was clearly listed online and say that it would be different for the next time. Maybe the service and staff would have made me a repeat client and I would have gone on to pay $45+ per haircut. I used to pay that at a different salon. But who's to know now. Clearly they are focused on the bottom line and not client experience or new clients. read more

I hadn't been able to get a haircut for over a year due to CoVID lockdowns and it was finally time to do something over a very questionable haircut I received last year . I have pretty curly hair and let's just say it was JACKED up . Naomi was great with correcting my mess of a haircut and turning it into something beautiful . I'm always skeptical about getting my hair done because I've had more than one bad haircut in the past but Naomi made me a believer again ! Nomi, Nomi, Nomi!!! She is fabulous. She does my hair which is thick and straight, along with my mom's hair which is thinner and curly. Both fabulously. Her color work is just out of this world. She color corrected my blonde to the perfect violet base in one visit!! The aesthetic is beautiful to this salon. Great natural lighting with open windows, very clean, beautiful and feels very calm. They have a private pedicure area and a private color processing area with a small coffee area. They pay as much attention to the details of your experience as they do to your style. I've gotten my hair done all over LA and they can hold their own against them with their salon, customer service, style and stylist education. The staff is always professional but very warm. They have text confirmations and always have ample product (without pushing it on you). Parking is always easy, allow for time for traffic Telshore and you're all set. I have been there twice now, both times they have done an ok job, nothing impressive but never bad. They are very nice and polite, but my only problem is their pricing. They are way to expensive for what they do, keep in mind we are in las cruces, NM. Their pricing is as if they are a salon in LA or NYC. I have had my hair done by a well known hair stylist in LA and wasn't charged as much as I was at this salon. I was just not impressed with their pricing for the job done and felt I was very over charged. The first time I came to this salon I got the same thing done but was charged $50 more the second time. read more

Mary and Jen are amazing! I needed a new look but with almost shoulder length curly hair it was hard for me to trust anyone to not butcher my hair or give me an 'old lady" cut. Dont go here. When you arrive as a new customer they give a form to fill out asking questions as to where you work, relationship status, what you do for a living. I provided a picture, discussed I use a straight iron for styling and the only thing I didnt like were the sides and bangs. The owner styled and cut my hair. Cut only a 1/16 off, said she left the sides alone because they were uneven, and blew dry it curly. I told her I didnt like what she had done, once we were complete. She thinks I have an issue with the price of $79 which she would be right because she did nothing and nothing to style as I requested. I left saying I would style and let she know. I called back to state that I still did not like only more so and wanted a refund. Rude and more rude, stating I would need to come in to have her restyle. I told her she knows I am a nurse and work at night which I dont have time. After her accusing me of anything she could come up, except that she knew I didnt like the style and didnt want her to further put heat to my hair, She said "I will take care of it" and hung up on me. That was at the end of Feb and she has not refunded as I requested. DONT COME HERE. Also when hair salons were closed due to COVID she was doing business according to the owner out her back door. read more

I went to this place for a bridal party to get my hair done in an updo (august 2015). Most of the staff members were very nice and friendly and the facility was clean and stylish. They did a good job with everyones hair and everyone looked beautiful. My only complaint and reason for only 3 stars is due to the rudeness of the owner. She prepped my hair and spent a good chunk of time criticizing it. I understand giving advice if the client is interested in improving their hair but I was just there to get my hair in an updo for a wedding and expected nothing more than small talk. She told me in a judgemental tone "I can tell you dye your hair...and that you do it at home". She also mentioned several times that I have so many "fly-away" hairs and that she has never seen anyone with so many. I honestly left there feeling VERY self conscious about my hair and appearance. Im getting married in September 2016 and I will certainly take my business elsewhere for fabulous hair. (And yes, I updated my review because the owner thinks I had too many discrepancies and made it up) :) thanks for defending your business even at the expense of customers rather than simply apologizing. I got a cut and color from this salon and I absolutely love it. The staff was very friendly and I managed to get a same day appointment. However the one thing I didn't like about this particular salon was how pushy they were. The day of my appointment they had a sale on their hair care products and were so insistent that I should buy some that I ended up buying some minis just to get them off my back. Not only that but when I told them what hair products I was currently using they actually scoffed at me. I could not believe it. Not all of us went to beauty school and the products I use aren't that bad (biosilk and it's a 10). Even though I loved my cut and color I don't think I'm going to be back because of how pushy/rude they were. read more
