update: dear small business owner... if a customer/client is not happy with the end result, you fix it PERIOD! you do not blame them or minimize their concerns PERIOD! while offering to "fix" spots missed (and refund of $90 - never received) sounds great to you, it is not the solution for everyone. anyone that uses spray tan products knows, it's an all day process... you as the provider of such services SHOULD also know this. especially, if you have been in the biz for 14 years, as you said. you should also be a master at your "craft" and not have to demand pictures from an unhappy customer/client to understand, what went wrong. Thankfully there are a ton of signs directing you where to go but once you're inside this micro salon, there's no sign on the outside of the tanning suite and no one to greet you. I just had to figure out what to do and where to wait on my own. The bathroom is around the corner to the right, first door. The tanning suite is the door to the right of the desk. I really like that the solution used here doesn't smell like burnt toast. I asked for the lightest solution but it came out pretty cooked on my skin. I like the color and she did a great job on my face & neck and was able to get the skin on my side cut covered. I prepped accordingly, did full body scrub down (brush and body scrub) 2 days leading up to appointment but places were still missed or did not take on my skin (see photos, photos taken after 16 hours & first showering using a body wash & my hands). I came prepared, afterwards changing into a knee length loose dress and walked out in flip flops. So it's weird that my ankles and tops of feet didn't get covered. There's a line. I'm not sure what I'm going to do in the meantime. It's finally sandal weather. UPDATE: Literally within minutes of posting this review, Secily called me to ask if I could come in again to fix the spots that were missed. Talk about being on top of customer service! I'm going to come in tomorrow and she said she would use the rapid tan so it won't affect my evening plans. Also, she said someone is normally there to greet clients but they were out sick with allergies. No biggy, as most places only have the one technician. read more

My go to place closed and after reading a lots of reviews I was excited about this place but oh my goodness it was the worst spray tan I've gotten. Not sure how there's so many good reviews (very confused how they got a good spray.) To start, they didn't have my reservation and come to find out I did thru the owner but it was not told/transferred to the lady who actually does the spray. The girl was nice but the spray itself was horrible. My hands and knuckles were darker and it looked horrible! my wrist had lines, and was blotchy, NOT even, you could see it so bad! I have been getting tans from Secily for the past few years and she does a fantastic job! I have never had any issues with her work and each tan looks natural and well worth the money. I appreciate her attention to detail and technique to ensure a streak-free finish. She takes the extra time to consult with me about depth of color, how long my tans have lasted in the past, and what activities I will be doing post-tan in order to select the best formulation. I've had two tans with Secily and both experiences have been fantastic, and the tans have been even better! She's quick, efficient, and makes it very easy to feel comfortable (naked!) around. She even provided me with a hair tie when I forgot mine. As long as you follow the pre and post tan instructions to a T, your tan will definitely last a long time. Oh my gosh! If you're in Austin and need a tan, Secily is the woman you NEED to see. I have always self-tanned with tanning mousse and a mitt and had decent result. I just couldn't bring myself to go through the hour-long regime yesterday and started looking for a place to get an airbrush tan. Not only does Secily have insane reviews but her prices are SO FAIR for the insane quality. Her studio is such a great space, she takes you into a separate room to tan you, customizes the shade to your skin tone and how you naturally tan then consults on how dark you'd like to go, keeping in mind how dark your skin would go naturally. It took no longer than 20 minutes and I felt so comfortable despite being buck naked and bending in weird positions to make sure I didn't get pale creases. I booked my next tan before I left the studio and after waking up this morning and rinsing off the guide color, I'm even more impressed! Secily was also so gratuitous. I accidentally left my wallet at home since I was using a Groupon (my scatter brain didn't even think about a tip, duh!). She told me don't even worry about it and joked I'd be back. She was right! We got a "tan" here for my son who was in a show and wanted a special design on his back. We have never experienced airbrush tans and let this be known as well as the idea, goal and timing. We went in the day before the event as the tan was to darken by the next evening. When we left the salon you could really see the design but by Saturday evening you could hardly see it at all. It was not effective. It would have been better if he had gone in the afternoon of the event rather than the day before. So, we were disappointed in that the goal was not reached. read more

I first discovered Simply Golden via Groupon and am so glad I did! Few things are worse than a bad spray tan so I was pretty nervous to visit the first time. I am also fair completed so I was concerned about looking orange/unnatural. Secily made me feel so comfortable and made sure the color was what I wanted and would look natural. The tan looked amazing and so natural (but still TAN like I wanted) for my beach trip! It also faded so well with out splotchiness.
