So far I've been to two appoints for laser hair removal on my underarms and I'm pretty happy. The prices here have been great compared to other spots I've shopped around. You walk into a small lobby that cute and clean with plenty of hand sanitizer available. I ended up getting there a little early the first time and told the front desk person I had an appointment in about 10 mins. I was told to just sit in the waiting area. After only a couple of mins, a tech came to the front to take me to a room and have our consult. The first part was a straightforward process about what I should expect for my first ever laser treatment and any warnings and disclaimers I needed. They also tell you then that tips are expected for their services. Someone mentioned this is weird since you can't be sure of the results until days later. I didn't really get it, but my tech was cool and super fast so I can't really complain. I didn't see results until about a full week, and it was pretty nice. This is where I'll keep going for the rest of my treatments, and might take a look at what else they offer. read more

I've had a good treatment, but the last one missed random strips of hair. They were going too fast. On top of that, they ask you to tip (15%+) of the total treatment cost. Rather than baking this price in, they have decided it's appropriate to treat a cosmetic procedure like a dinner at Chili's, even though you don't know how good (or bad) the outcome is for a week and a half after. read more

I just moved back to the area and needed to find an electrolysis with the latest technology. Over the past several years my previous electrologist in Chicago used the Apilus which is the latest and greatest, but due to the cost of the machine, it can be trying to find an electrologist that has updated equipment. While I get that electrolysis may be outdated it has been proven to be the ONLY form of permanent hair removal. While laser is faster, from my research, the costs are about the same and if I am paying that kind of money, I want it all gone and permanently! After doing electrolysis to rid yourself of the first round of hairs, it then becomes a waiting game for hair growth which is why sometimes you may not have another appt for months and also why it takes longer than laser. Over the years I have had hair removed from my chin, underarms, vagina, and mustache and the hair has been permanently eliminated. Having said all of that, I had a great experience at Alite, the tech was also very knowledgeable and professional and I highly recommend them. read more

DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE. They seriously burned my skin and now I have scars all over my arm. On January 22nd I got laser on my arms. I have had the treatment for years (in a different salon in California) I noticed that something was off this time, my skin was too red (picture 1) The technician Brittney did not treat my concerns. My arm was abnormally red and she said that it was a histamine reaction. After a few days I was not getting any better I called them, and the technician kept on saying that it was a allergic and advised me to use cortisone. My arm was getting worse by the day. I smartly decided to look for a dermatologist appt, , but I the fastest appt was in 2 weeks. Alite laser was responsive during this time a guy name Paul responded most of my emails, text and calls, but they failed to tell me to seek for medical attention, in retrospective, I should have done this after day one. Alite kept on telling me that the marks "will go away" or they could offer me a peeling treatment to remove it (trying to sell me more stuffs ridiculous!) With my wedding day coming up, Ive been panicked, And cried a lot, I was looking for hair removal and ended up with scars. I called them one more time and asked for advice and explanation, they shipped me a cream that would "help" me. FF I finally got the dr. appt, she confirmed that I suffer first degree burns and cortisone made things worse. She prescribed me a compounded cream to treat my hyperpigmentation generated by the burns. The marks do not go way by themselves as alite laser said. I asked for my money back while I look for legal advice. But all this experience has been a nightmare. They destroyed my wedding plans read more

I thought about attaching a photo but well.......you know the rest. Just know I am baby smooth. (unsure if that's an appropriate description) BUT!!!- IYKYK!! I have been coming here for years. It's been a regular part of my grooming routine for so long and I'm not sure where I'd be without it. I used to shave and we all know how that turns out so then I tried the wax thing. That was a little too uncomfortable for me. I literally hobbled out of there partially smooth. Thankfully at that time I was single and didn't have to worry about what anyone would think. (But could you imagine???) Brunie has been my tech since the beginning and I couldn't imagine life without her now. holy amazing grail of brazilian waxes. I came to this place yesterday and I never EVER post reviews so quickly but I had to say this place is worth giving a visit because it's so freaking good. My appointment was at 4:45pm but I was running late because I hadn't realized my appointment was at 4:45!! (I thought it was at 5pm) but I had gotten several text reminders so I don't even know how that slipped my mind/: Anyway, fast forward to when I get there at 5pm and they're kind of in a rush because their schedule was full, and told me that I'd have time for a bikini but not a brazilian and I was ): because I really wanted a brazilian and so they tell me my paperwork can wait till afterwards, and instead just go straight to the waxing. My aesthetician's name started with a B (i think) but I didn't quite catch it because we were all in a rush of course, and let me just say, it was probably the best brazilian I have ever received. I walked out of Alite at 5:12pm so satisfied. My aesthetician was super efficient and thorough, she got right down to business and started just waxing. It definitely hurt a little because of the speed, but I really didn't mind as long as the job was being done. Let me tell you, I have been to Brazilia on Guad (they specialize in 15 minute brazilians) and this experience was like 20x better. It was honestly less painful, more thorough, and I didn't have bumps or anything afterward! (for reference, brazilia charges $75 for their waxes and alite is only $65 and it was a much much better experience) I think they use really good quality wax and the temperature was just right. For the smaller hairs, they use a different type of wax (I'm assuming soft wax?) and she even plucked amidst the time crunch. I really honestly didn't feel all that rushed and I am so happy with the results, I am more than likely to be back. Probably the quickest, cleanest brazilian I have ever received in my life. So I've been wondering what the best way is to review subjugation of your parts and pieces to someone for a period of months to over a year ..?.. I mean they are singeing your stuff excessively and they are staring at it constantly. :O First let me say something that I hope does not even need to be said: please do not put your stuff in front of just anyone who waves around a wand and calls it a laser (or anything else for that matter). And especially do not put your stuff in front of just anyone who acts like they know how to use it! Do NOT get prissy-ed into charming Laser Vader at Oui' Oui' Frenchie joke spa who does not know what they're doing and can't prove otherwise. (Let the track record show, Alite has been doing it just the way it should be done, ladies and gentlemen.) :/ With all that said, my stuff is VERY happy. My stuff is neat. Always. All the time. Prettier than ever actually. And I don't have to do much of anything. Yep it's expensive and yep it's uncomfortable to get zapped - especially in certain places, but I have yet to meet anyone who has regretted getting it done. You will have to go back for touch ups at some point (every few years?) if you become spoiled like me. I now only spot shave every few months to keep up the beautiful work of Chelsea. :-) I feel confident in telling you that Alite Laser will not leave your stuff burned and smoldering in a pile in the corner or all out in the open for the world to see. (I don't even think they talk about it when you leave either.) Everyone is professional - though some front desk people seem indifferent - and I can tell you that Chelsea pays special attention to detail as required for a permanent procedure. I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 though - because their building smells. A lot. All over. From the second you walk in. I know that sounds stupid but it's a really nasty moldy dampy grossy smell that does not go away. My stuff all out does not do well with eau de moldy. :O Guess what? After my previous post, the owner of Alite contacted me to apologize for my experience. She very professionally and politely explained why my experience may have been less than stellar and offered me a free wax as well as a free underarm laser session just to try it out! I knew they had only recently opened that location and it's understandable that they had some kinks to work out. So, I decided to give them a second try - and hey, how can I turn down a free wax session? I made my appointment with Brunie and she was great! Very friendly, very professional, and definitely paid attention to detail. I felt comfortable throughout the entire experience and left a very happy customer. I can't say that I will come back for a laser treatment (For me, waxing is less painful than the laser. But I think most people prefer laser over waxing) but they definitely won me over this time! Plus, I always love when the owners of a business contact customers personally if there is a problem. To me, that is an indication of their genuine concern for their clients and I really appreciate that. read more

So much love for these ladies. They accomodate last minute changes on the fly if necessary, the receptionists have always been so friendly and parking has never been difficult (a rarity for downtown). When your only choices for under your arms and your lady parts are being hairy like a yeti or having razor burned skin like a plucked chicken, suddenly the idea of laser hair removal sounds a lot more appealing. And when everyone I know asks me what I think, I say... WHY oh WHY didn't I do this sooner?! NO MORE dark pigments underneath my arms. NO MORE nasty razor burn. NO MORE forgetting to shave or buying razors or using every snake oil under the sun to keep from getting my sensitive skin irriated. NO MORE keeping shaving razors in my glove box because I always miss that one spot that will bug me all day! Another common question--Did it hurt? Yes and no. Yes there were some creases under my arms stat stung a bit, but my technicians are always ready with a cool cloth and aloe to minimize the sting. The first session is always the most startling, but by your second and third.... its practically nothing! Stupid reasonable prices and great technicians. Even better results. If you've ever contemplated having laser hair removal done, this is the place. Everyone is different in their pain tolerance levels, but a good technician and current technology should not make you want to have the better part of your tech's face underneath your fingernails. read more

I see two ladies here: one for laser hair removal (Bruni) and the other for electrolysis (Valerie). They are both very competent and pleasant, and I think their services are really helping with my annoying hair. I am a biological blonde, so I have some hairs that are too light to get great results with a laser, which is why I am getting some areas treated with electrolysis. It's a bit more time-consuming than laser treatments, but a bit cheaper (per session, but smaller areas). Valerie is very thorough and as gentle as she can be while sticking me with a super-fine needle and shocking me. :-) I've had three treatments now and I think I've "turned a corner" in terms of regrowth. The upside is that I can go less often. The downside is that I won't be hanging out chatting with Valerie as much, which is a pity as she is quite nice! For my darker hairs, I see Bruni and her laser (cue the sound effects-- pew! pew! pew!). I've only had two treatments, but they do seem to be working pretty well. It's uncomfortable, but not painful. I just take an Aleve beforehand and then I am set! The spa itself is pretty nice. Good sized waiting area with current magazines and "informational" (read as: persuasive) glossies about the services offered, and a pleasant front-desk staff. There are also a few dedicated parking spots in front, as well as some street parking, which is a good thing in this area between UT and the Cap. Overall, I'd be comfortable recommending this place to anyone looking for longterm hair reduction. read more

I went here to look into hair removal and I parked my car and took a phone call before I went in and I walked away for 2 minutes and I came back and the lady at the salon came out and said I couldn't just leave my car there as I tried to tell her I was about to come in she said that she called a tow truck and I parked like a jack ass...I was with in the lines and that's no way to speak to someone. I gotta say it: Alite Laser went far above and beyond my expectations. I just finished my last session there (well, I'll be returning for touch-up sessions very once in a while..but that's it), and the results were just as promised. Can I just tell you how pleased I am about this?!! Brunie is a damn fine woman. The reviews/ravings about her are true; the woman knows her hair-removal stuff. She's got the kind of bedside manner that you won't find at a standard ghetto bikini-wax joint. (I'd be lying if I said I haven't gone to a few of those in Austin, in pre-Alite days). She was able to distract me from the lasering process itself - not really painful, more just uncomfortable. It kind of feels like someone snapping a tiny rubber band on you. And it's over in less than five minutes, with less pain than waxing. I rated it as pricey because laser hair-removal is a pricey service in general. But if we're talking about Alite in relation to the other places in town that offer this service, it's comparable in price. And I think they do the best job (I did my research of laser quality, technician training, and every other factor you can possibly imagine. I do my due diligence :)). Love coming in to see Dawn. She is a skin genius. I do a series of chemical peels, hydra facials, and mini facials. I would highly recommend the PCA oxygen trio facial. My skin looked looks amazing. I also enjoy seeing Chelsea for cupping. I love how it helps circulate and remove toxins. I can always tell afterwards that I'm not as sluggish and I sleep much better after a treatment. I also love how relaxed Crystal makes me feel during my electrogist appointment. She also does the cellulite reduction treatment and I like the deep tissue massage aspect. I've had laser hair removal in three different cities, with about 6 different technicians (please forgive me if this is not the proper term; I believe you must be a recognized nurse to operate these machines). All I have to say is, DAWN IS THE BEST and her machine is wonderful. This woman has ten years of experience doing this work and she takes it very seriously. Just a note: Laser hair removal has only been around for a little over 10 years, so her understanding is far more developed than other people I've worked with. Technicians who do this work really range in commitment to the patient having a great experience and getting their 'money's worth.' I've worked with people who really don't care how thorough of a job they do and they're not that concerned about your comfort; one technician would book me for 15 to 20 minutes and rush through my face. I knew she wasn't thorough. Dawn, on the other hand, programs her machine to give a little puff of easy to wipe off paint, so that with each area lasered she knows exactly where she left off. Since I have experience with laser hair removal, she didn't hold back from turning up the machine to make sure she was really getting at the hair follicles. And finally, the machine she uses bursts a shot of cool air with each step, making the whole thing a LOT less painful than with other machines. I've been going to Alite for electrolysis (for blonde hairs in one area) and also for laser hair removal (for darker hair in the Brazilian area). Electrolysis is never fun, but my technician, Dallas, makes the process is made as comfortable as possible. The treatment rooms are comfortable, very clean, and my technician has amazing skills. When we're done, I'm as smooth as can be with no strays. The Brazilian laser process is done with professional discretion and is not the least bit awkward. I've never waxed, so this was a COMPLETELY new experience. I didn't know what pain level to expect, nor exactly how they would get into those areas... It's so easy, and directions are clear. "Move your leg like this", "Roll over on your side and hold your leg like this"... It's all very easy and you don't need acrobatic training. The pain level is less than electrolysis and the procedure is very quick. At this stage, I go back every three months for another zap. I understand that I can expect to go less as we progress with the treatment. Another commenter noted an odd smell to the place, and I don't find that to be the case. I work in cubicleland and am very aware of wafting odors. Parking is easy. They have a smallish lot, or park on the street in front. No meters to worry about. I discovered Alite Laser Hair Removal & Waxing on Groupon and went in for an appointment. Fuck, I probably shouldn't have mentioned Groupon because now a bunch of cheapskates and opportunists are going to go there. Well, whatever, I was just kidding. There is no Groupon. I got a back wax because I want to go to the beach for Christmas and I want my back to be admired by all. It is hairless, smooth and beautiful. People will want to touch it but I have a girlfriend so they are SOL. That stands for "Shit outtta luck", it is a colloquialism. My appointment was with Brunie and she discussed cats with me. She was super friendly and the people at the front desk did not object to the obscenities that I included in the intake form. I feel hairless and fancy free and would recommend this place to anyone who is seeking to feel better about life, even if you are on meds. Ask for Brunie, she is a polite and reasonable person.
