After looking through Brian's impressive portfolio and sitting down with him to talk, we decided to hire him for our wedding and engagement shoot. Brian completely exceeded my expectations in every way possible. Brian is not only very reliable, but he is also extremely dedicated to his work. Brian drove over 90 miles to get to our engagement photo shoot and on the way he stopped at a gas station on the south side of Chicago where he stepped on two nails, which punctured his foot. Although we insisted that we reschedule so he could take care of himself, he still arrived (early, as his style) ready to shoot our session. He carried his equipment on his back on his injured foot for miles around Chicago, and took some of the most breathtaking photos I have ever seen. Brian helped us to feel completely comfortable the entire time. I remember being impressed with how he can walk backwards, get to know us better by carrying on a conversation, assess the lighting of the area around him, all while shooting pictures that made our families cry and that we will treasure forever. We are happier than ever that we chose Brian and his assistant Greg to shoot our wedding on July 13, 2013. On the day of my wedding, I didn't have time to notice all of the details that I previously spent so much time planning. Brian perfectly captured all of these details in his photographs. There were many shots that I would have never thought to ask him to take, but because of his professionalism and experience he provided these pictures for us. Most importantly, Brian captured the moments that happen so quickly.. but that I will remember forever. Because of his talent, I have photos of my mom trying not to cry as I step into my dress, my grandmother giggling with the woman who was doing her make up, my groom's first teary look at me, and so much more. Aaron and Philan of White Shutter Photography exceeded all of the expectations we could have had…read morefor our wedding day! When we first interviewed Aaron he told us that he wouldn't just be our photographer, he would help the entire night run smoothly- he did. Aaron and Philan came the hotel prior to our ceremony. Philan took precious photos of me, my mom, and my girls while helping me into my dress! Aaron hung out with my husband beforehand, taking photos, helping him into his tux, and making everything seem easy. Aaron helped us execute a strategic plan for more pictures to be taken prior the ceremony, without us seeing each other:) It was brilliant! Five minutes before I was ready to walk down the aisle I was standing in the bridal room at my church, doing my best to stay calm, when Philan came in and just started snapping pictures- I was immediately at ease. As the night went on, Aaron and Philan were everywhere. Aaron's creative eye never stopped! He would have shot photos all night if we didn't have a reception to get to. Our pictures are amazing. Some people will tell you that photography isn't that big of a deal because you only really get a couple of pictures you want to save and showcase for the rest of your life. He told us all about Philan and how they were married and worked events together. We felt very at ease during our first meeting and we decided right then and there that we wanted them to be our photographers. Aaron and Philan were able to capture who we really are as a couple in their photos. We love the candid shots that we got of the two of us. Some of our favorite pictures are of my husband and his brother, who has Down Syndrome. The way they captured the special relationship between my husband and his brother is truly amazing and I am so glad that my husband has those photos. I know it means a lot to him. We would highly recommend Aaron and Philan for any event. They are truly an amazing couple and we feel very lucky to have shared our special day with them.

Here is my review on my overall experience. I was a bit disappointed in how our wedding photos…read moreturned out. He did take a lot of photos and provide all of the proofs, which was a huge plus and also the reason why we had decided to go with Val. He provided the photos in a timely manner, but when we received the photos and went through them... we were a little bit disappointed. During the photoshoot, we hoped that the photographer would be a little proactive and tell us what to do based on the examples we had provided, but he was a bit soft spoken. We don't know much about professional photography, so we couldn't give much direction on what would look great. We were hoping for him to provide us with some advise and be in control a bit since he is "the professional." I felt that the overall experience was like something i would experience from a new photographer. I went with the whole, you get what you pay for mentality when I had chosen this photographer. He was a bit on the higher side and seemed like he knew what he was doing. I was wrong because I feel that I overpaid quite a bit after seeing the results. We received a lot of pictures from him, but while going through the photos, a lot of them had issues that you would think that would be caught. A few examples, throughout the pictures, we caught several pictures with eyes closed, off center shots of us, a couple shots with uneven gaps between wedding party. That one was the most frustrating picture, we got a few with huge gaps between the groomsmen and the groom and on the other side there were no gaps for the bridesmaid. We had single shots of everyone in the wedding party, but Val forgot to take a picture of the groom. This is a special day that is done only once and I just feel that i was a bit ripped off since we can not go back and redo anything. I had sent the photographer an email explaining the situation and he hasn't replied at all. Definitely do more research before picking your photographer.

We felt at ease the entire time, mainly because of how personable both Kelsey and Kody are. Photo sessions can sometimes feel a little awkward and this one did not at all! We had a few specific shots that we wanted, and they listened to our requests and we LOVED all of our pictures. I was also very impressed with how quickly we were able to see our pictures, since I know it is a lot of hard work to go through and edit so many shots. Overall we were very happy with everything!

You pay a pretty hefty price for a pretty crappy job. Don't even bother going to this place to save a few extra dollars. Would definitely recommend going someplace else.
