My sister was married in October and chose Fotoenvy to be her photographer. As of the end of January, we had not seen any pictures despite numerous requests. My sister, my mother, and I all tried in vain to get the pictures and we were all met with varying stall tactics, excuses, and unreturned phone calls. To top it off, Chris W. had my first review removed and sent me this threat: "Take down your fake comment or we will send lawyers notes. You've never been a client of ours so our lies can stop." So no, I wouldn't recommend this guy to take a picture of cold cow dung for you; much less tell you to trust him with your special memories. read more

I contracted with Foto Envy in April of 2015 for my June 2016 wedding. 8 months later I received an email (not a phone call) informing me that my photographer, Yunkin, was transferring my contract to North x North. I was told all single photographer weddings under a certain $$$ amount would be transferred to North x North. I immediately called both parties for further explanation. I don't believe I ever really got an accurate story. I couldn't tell if there was a parting of ways or not? The explanation was rather vague, but it seemed North x North was still an affiliate of Foto Envy? However, I had to sign a completely new contract with North x North. I was apprehensive, but I was able to keep my original photographer, and my wedding was 6 months away. I didn't want to start over looking for a new photographer. I signed and my deposit was transferred to North x North. I paid the balance of my contract in March 2016. End of April rolled around and I decided to reach out to my photographer to start discussing specific details for the wedding. On 4/30/16 (wedding date was to be 6/11/2016) I received an email from Yunkin, explaining that he was moving his photography buisness to Seattle, but had found 4 photographers who would be happy to take over my contract for my wedding day. No phone call, just an email. I was stunned. None of the suggested photographers were even local. I had no idea who any of them were. Basically, I had 6 weeks before my wedding to meet and select a new photographer. After several phone calls to both Yunkin himself and Foto Envy, I did receive a full refund. Foto Envy apologized, and made it seem they had nothing to do with Yunkin any longer. Yunkin apologized as well, but it was really too late for apologies. I was lucky enough to secure a new local photographer for my date. I have no idea whether Foto Envy is affiliated with North x North anymore or not? Maybe it's just buisness, but I feel both parties acted poorly. The lack of communication and way this situation was handled, was in my opinion, very unprofessional. read more

Our pictures were beautiful and the guys were fun to work with on the day of our wedding, but that is where the positive review stops. There was an extreme lack of communication after our wedding in regards to when the pictures would be ready. We were married the first week of October and I was told there would a turnaround of about 6-8 weeks. Fine, no problem, we'll have them before Christmas so we can use them in presents. As Christmas drew near, I began emailing Chris to make sure that we would have them. He said, yes, of course, they were almost done. Still didn't have them a week before Christmas so I made plans with Chris to meet up him a couple days before Christmas and pick them up. He stood me up not once, but twice. No phone call, no email, nothing both times and when my husband and I tried to contact him there was no response. I received an email the next day with some excuse about being "kidnapped" by his family for the holiday and unable to answer phone calls or send emails. Right, that's plausible. Wouldn't your family understand that you run a business and customer service is a huge part of that business? He promised to deliver them to our door on Christmas Eve, but unsurprisingly never showed up or answered his phone. Again, the "family kidnapping" excuse was used. On December 26th, we began calling and emailing again. Nothing. Finally, on the 27th or 28th, my husband and I drove down to their studio to speak to Chris in person. My husband went in and caught him completely off guard full of excuses like "We just got back in the office an hour ago, you were calling the work phone and no one was checking the messages during Christmas, blah blah blah", even though we had been communicating through email during the previous week around the holiday. My husband stood there while Chris copied the photos on to a flash drive and promptly left. So clearly our pictures had been ready the entire time, but Chris for some reason could not get them to us even after setting up two appointments to do so. They obviously need an office manager or something to keep them on track. The pictures turned out wonderful, but their customer service and follow-up is some of the worse I've ever experienced. I would never use them again or recommend them to anyone else. read more

When planning our Northern IL wedding from Brooklyn, NY, we found FotoEnvy's blog of a wedding they had previously done at our venue (Lehmann Mansion). I found the photos to be so lovely, fresh and creative. We did our research, then booked the team right away. We were prepared to write off the engagement session, since we wouldn't have had time to travel back to the Midwest; however, Kyle offered to travel to NYC! We had a blast when Kyle and Yunkin came east for that epic engagement shoot weekend -- despite unseasonably warm April weather, they spent 3 hours on foot scouting the neighborhood before our appointed meeting time! Over the course of four different shooting locations (including a 5am Brooklyn Bride sunrise stop), we had a blast; the guys even introduced us to places they'd found on photo blogs where we had never been. Fast forward to post-engagement shoot: my fiancee and I received the note that our gallery was ready. I was suddenly nervous as the site loaded, thinking, "Am I going to look like a weirdo? What if all you can see is my snaggletooth?" Instead, the first picture loaded, and we smiled instantly. We eagerly viewed each one, and were completely overjoyed as we saw the whole gallery. Kyle and Yunkin did a marvelous job; we're thrilled we had the opportunity to capture so many fantastic moments in so many unforgettable NYC spots. In my mom's words: "The engagement photos are phenomenal! You made a wonderful selection for your photographers. They really captured you, and the city, which they weren't that familiar with. Just think what they will do for your wedding day. I saw a number that I would like to run right out and print!" Kyle and Stephen were so easy to work with and responsive the day-of our wedding. The wedding photo shoots made us just as happy as the engagement photos did. They've given us a fantastic way to re-live the best day of our lives. read more

You know when something turns out so amazingly you can't quite find the words to explain it? That's exactly how our experience with Fotoenvy went! We were recently married in October and everything for the big day went so smoothly because our photographers Kyle and Stephen understood exactly what we were looking for and made it happen! The Fotoenvy style is what really sold me on hiring Them in the first place and I am stunned at the beauty of the images not only from our wedding but our engagement session as well! They truly are pieces of art! Not only did the images turn out beautifully but working with the entire team was a breeze they were quick to responding with all of my needy emails as I've been told I was quite the high maintenance bride. I even had their personal numbers to contact them when and as I needed! I know they had three weddings the weekend we were married but I never would have known how busy they were if I didn't ask what the rest of the weekend held for them because they had their full attention devoted to me on our big day and even kept in contact regularly the week before making sure everything was set up for a perfect day! With that being said, I was so surprised and happy on how quick their turn around time was for our images! They had our blog up in less than five days which truly was a treat to see while we were on our honeymoon and they had all of our images done and to us in less than a month with all of my researching this truly exceeded expectations as a lot of my recently married friends waited anywhere from 2-4 months for their images! Given the chance I would absolutely choose FotoEnvy's Kyle and Stephen again and would recommend them every recently engaged couple/friends I know!!!! read more

My husband and I got married in June 2013. We had an amazing time with FotoEnvy and would hire them again. We had our engagement session over an hour away from Rockford and they drove to our location. (our wedding day was also over an hour away, and they did not hesistate to commute to our location) They spend as much time as we needed doing the engagement sessions. There was no time limit and they went above and beyond to do extra ideas that we hadn't even thought of. Our wedding day was great and I didn't have to worry about Kyle and Stephen missing an important photo. They communicated very well working up to the wedding day. I was able to get very quick responses when I emailed FotoEnvy with a question. The style of FotoEnvy instantly made me want to go with them as my photographer. It just so happened they were great with communication and I loved that I received copies of all the prints with no copyrights!!! I would highly recommend FotoEnvy and would go with them as my photographer again for other important events such as newborns, family photo sessions etc. read more

Got married over the summer and used FotoEnvy for engagement and wedding day photos. I hate taking pictures... and yet I had a blast! The wedding party all loved hanging out with these guys and getting their pictures taken. I highly recommend FotoEnvy not only because they take insanely wonderful pictures, but also because they made the photo sessions themselves memorable. read more

First of all, the only vendor I had a problem with throughout my whole wedding process was the photographers, ironically the vendor that was the most important to me as I love photos and wanted beautiful wedding photos. I would like to state that the reason I am giving them a 2 and not a 1 is that the photos we did receive were very beautiful and it is clear they know photography. I love their style. However, working with them was very frustrating due to a lack of professionalism and communication and I would probably not recommend them in the future. Our contract stated 4-6 week turnaround time for our final photos. We did not receive a single photo until 10 weeks. My husband and I inquired several times and received little or no response. Multiple phone calls, emails, and texts would leave us with 1 short reply saying they were almost done and we would have them by a certain date (they were never ready when they said they would be). The one thing I did love is they give you most of your photos completely edited. Therefore, I do understand that the process takes time. But, ignoring us is not the way to handle missed deadlines. Why have a turnaround time in the contract if you can't meet it? It's great that you're doing it for most couples but what does that say to the rest of us? As said earlier, the photos we finally did receive were beautiful. However, I felt that there were some missing shots. I have looked through other weddings they have done and I get sad, I feel like they did a much better job at other weddings. I think one reason is our head photographer was "ill" on our wedding day. I received this info the morning of my wedding by phone call from another photographer with the company. He said Chris was sick and he would be filling in. We had never met this photographer before nor worked with him. I was upset, but there was nothing I could do about it, so I let it go. Little did I know this was not the whole story. The truth was, Chris was shooting a different wedding that day. He flat out LIED to us. Something I didn't find out until months after the fact. When confronted about it by my husband he lied again saying the wedding was actually the day after ours. I have proof and actually talked to the other bride/groom to confirm that it was the same day as our wedding. The thing that upsets me the most is that I don't understand why they had to lie. It wasn't that Chris wasn't there, it was more that we had worked only with Chris since day one. He shot all of our engagement photos (2 separate sessions) and we had all of our consultations and communication with him. I sat in front of him the week before my wedding and told him what the most important shots were to me and he went on and on about where we were going to go to shoot and how it was going to be so great. Why not just have us meet with the actual person shooting our wedding? Why lie? I don't really understand it. Due to the lack of communication and us not really getting to know our photographers I think the photos overall suffered. There is not a single photo of my mother and me. Something that makes me want to cry every time I think about it. How can you not take a photo of the bride with her mother? There are also no photos of me alone in my dress, something he claims they don't do, but in reality a lot of their other weddings include photos of the bride in beauty shots in her dress. Our wedding venue was perfect for this as well, I don't feel they took advantage of that. During my wedding day I wasn't really focusing on how many shots we got or which shots we were missing. I think that is the photographer's job. Chris knew, or I thought he did, exactly what we were looking for and what was important to us. I do not think it was translated to the other photographers. I never received a phone call or any contact from him apologizing for not being there or even acknowledging it. It made us feel they really didn't care. The reason we hired a "great" wedding photographer, was so we wouldn't be disappointed in the end but it backfired. I was very excited to work with Fotoenvy from day one and actually really liked them but unfortunately I ended up very disappointed and it's something I can never re-do or change. read more

Their turn around time for photos after the engagement session and wedding day was timely and much appreciated. All of the photos had a great romantic style to them! Very disappointed. The pictures came out nice but thats about it. I had to continually remind them on times and getting our pictures finished. They always had some lame excuse on to why they couldnt get back to us. Its was very frustrating. I think they might do better if they got themselves a receptionist who is organized and can get back to their customers right away instead of the customer constantly trying to get in touch with them. read more
