I feel so upset with this business they have delayed picking my grandmothers ashes not once but twice and everytime we have a date we emotionally prepare for the pick up to just be told the Ashes aren't ready yet . Simply Remembered was disappointing from the moment they pulled up to the house in a beat up van with a loose fender and cracked windshield. We were told our loved one would be ready to be picked up in 7-10 days. Upon checking in on day 9 they said they were waiting on "repairs", which might take up to 2 weeks. My family immediately found a more reputable mortuary, who advised they could pick up our loved one and care for her remains within a few days. Simply Remembered would not release her body until we had paid, which we were ready to do. Apparently, there's only one individual who knows how to invoice at this establishment and he had the day off. Poor poor poor customer service! This is the last kind of treatment I would expect from a company that deals with the loss of loved ones on a daily basis. read more

I was very dissatisfied with Simply Remembered. They were in possession of my deceased loved one for 9 days and virtually nothing was done. Upon inquiry I was told the job "might " be complete in another 2 weeks. Since they could not meet my timing needs I transferred my loved one to another facility. The only reason I'm not giving a five star review is due to I had to use overnight mail. The employee told me that would be $200 for one day - overnight mail and it took four days. they use USPS. US postage is not a reliable service anymore. I did get a refund since the mail service was standard. Other than that, the employees were professional and courteous and having to go through such a nightmare as having your loved one cremated with the guidance of these conscientious people helped. read more

The more than affordable price was a plus but what sold us on this provider was their customer care. We worked exclusively with Kelly who was honest, gentle and warm. She happily answered all our questions and walked us through the process. Joseph, who picked up our beloved, was also superior in excellent service. He explained how he would handle our beloved before he did so as I wanted to see my beloved off. My mom died, not from the coronavirus, but during the worst of it in New York City. I called three places for cremation and they were so overwhelmed they told me to call back next week. Synchronistically, I saw an article in the Independent about Dan spending 3 weeks helping the NYC Medical Examiner. I called him, simply to get some reassurance about how her body would be handled. He explained in clear and simple terms exactly what the processes were, and had additional information that I would never have known (because NYC hospitals were so overwhelmed, military personnel were sent to my mom's home to care for her remains). Then, he offered help beyond measure. He vetted a few places and found one that could offer their services. This is out of 800/900 mortuaries in the area. I don't enjoy researching on the internet, calling places, and making big decisions over the phone. It is torture to do so while emotionally compromised. Dan was a HUGE LIFELINE when I really needed one. If you are reading this, I am sorry that you need services. I would highly recommend the kind and straightforward help that Dan provides. read more

All things considered, a good experience. Simply Remembered handled all the funeral arrangements, and did so very affordably. My only disappointment is the misspelling of my grandmother's middle name. Once on a death certificate it's permanent. I even printed the information out in a Word document so it was very clear. When I went to pick up the cremains and death certificates, the woman joked about, "...hoping she spelled everything right." I'm feel like she knew she blew it and was trying to make light of it. My father passed away in his home recently, and we hadn't been looking into mortuaries yet. We needed to decide pretty quickly so Dad could get picked up. We knew he wanted to be cremated and one of my sisters saw an ad in the local paper for Simply Remembered and after speaking with a rep, we didn't feel the need to look any further, thank god. I've had to shop around for funeral homes before and it can be a terrible experience. Their pricing was exactly as advertised. No surprises. We were able to schedule the pickup right away but didn't have to complete the paperwork online until the next day, which was such a relief. The staff was extremely compassionate and professional, no matter how many times I pestered them. There was about an 8-week delay before we got my dad's ashes due to Covid causing backups, and the rep was kind enough to go out of her way to deliver them to my mom's house and handed them to her personally. These are very fine people and we consider it a blessing that our path led to them.
