Luckily, The Painted Attic started opening on Sundays and Mondays back in May. This is the exact place I dream of when it comes to antiquing. Inside this 1895 white Victorian home there are 14 vendors selling anything from Pyrex and Corningwear to cast iron, paintings, and used clothing. The owner and his two cats were super friendly and helpful. If you love the thrill of the antique hunt and vintage homes, this is the stop for you. They rotate items regularly, too!

Per their website, they describe themself as a furniture and art gallery dedicated to providing accessible art and design for all. It's MUCH more than a furniture and art gallery even! The place is truly busy with an array of displays on both floors. It's almost a hodgepodge of furniture, art, apparel, accessories and all sorts of random items for your home. Thanks to its multi-layered designs-product lines, the store decor is a bit busy and random...no uniformity whatsoever. Not quite beautiful...but very, very interesting! What I love is its super-arty nature...featuring several artist studios within the store, giving you that sense of finding freshly crafted/designed items. To me, it feels something like a friendly, accessible, "made-to-order" store/gallery. Just so unusual! All I can say is that you're sure to find something cool or at least interesting on each and every visit. I've been here a few times in the past 2 years (or so?)...and it's always a different, fresh shopping/viewing experience. Great for me as it takes me a while to decide on big purchases like this but I can't stress enough that the prices are very reasonable. It is a big place too. They have many tables for the living room and dining room areas and lots to choose from. They remember me when I go in so the staff is very warm and friendly, yet not too pushy or hovering. I like that.

She is such a welcoming person and we both felt so comfortable in her gallery. She talked about some of her upcoming classes and workshops for younger artists as she remembers meeting my Granddaughter Savannah. Downtown Fort Mill is continuing to emerge post-COVID and the monthly art crawl is a great way to support our local art community. It's essential to have creative inspiration in our lives for balance & harmony. Ft Mill has doubled in size to 30,000 residents in the last 5 years and it's great to see so many out supporting local/independent business.

We were met by his trusted 4-legged fur friend and after a quick phone call, were met at the door. He graciously let us in to his gallery and allowed us to freely peruse. We had great conversation, historical education all the while with the comfort and graciousness of an old friend. We bought 3 pieces and I will ordering a pineapple piece for sure (he collaborated with his customers for a shared vision). His gallery is part of the heart that is Lancaster, SC and a visit is highly recommended!
