Mica is very helpful in choosing colors and the service is amazing. I just bought 6 rooms of furniture from this place and I'm very satisfied with the quality. I heard about MONA from a friend, and I was anxious to check out the Waxhaw store. The store is small but adorable. We called in advance to make an appointment with the owner on a Saturday morning. The owner was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. You can tell that this place is family owned, and truly puts the customer first. We spent a couple of hours at the store, and we ordered 4 pieces of custom furniture. The prices are affordable (especially for customer pieces), and they are full service - design, build, delivery, and install. We paid 25% up front and will pay the remainder when our furniture is delivered in 12 weeks. We are so excited, and will add more photos once we get our pieces! read more

I could go on and on about the fantastic selection, great pricing, & fabulous customer service. What truly sets MONA apart is their integrity and pride in craftsmanship. My husband & I were looking for a new kitchen table and china hutch when we visited the Waxhaw location. We were given such great customer service, we ended up purchasing much more than originally intended. (Seriously, the prices are that great!) At the same time, we were experiencing difficulties with another furniture retailer who had kept us waiting on custom chairs for about 7 months. Mica and her team had 8 custom chairs DONE & DELIVERED in 2 weeks, a near perfect stain match to our gaming table. I fell in love with this beautiful table and chairs in Waxhaw. We paid over $1200 for the custom order and waited 6+ weeks for it to be made. We were told delivery charge was $100. We picked up ourselves. Once we got the table home and set up, we discovered the paint was not quite dry, and the base was unsteady. When we picked it up, we were told the floor was unsteady in their shop, and we believed them, BIG MISTAKE! We took the base back after arguing with Mica about fault, and had it repaired after being accused of breaking it, however, the continuing customer service was the worst we have ever experienced. Yes, Mica said she would repair the top, however, we had to be without a table for at least a week, still blaming US for the paint not being dry. Now, yes, the top may have been a little damaged during transit, but the damage would not have been as bad if the paint was fully cured. During further communication with Mica, it was clear, the customer is NEVER right and, to blame, and HER employees NEVER make mistakes. She said her employees were so concerned about the way the furniture was loaded, they called her immediately after we left....keep in mind, they said they were impressed because we brought moving blankets and tie downs, and never mentioned ANYTHING to us. Again Micas follow up customer service was nothing but to push blame and dwell on the FACT that the base was broken by us, and could not have possibly been broken before we got it, but it was OUR FAULT. Would have loved to purchase more, but you get better customer service at IKEA. One final note, 6 drywall screws were eventually provided to secure the heavy top to the base, again our fault for not knowing that her employees put the bag down on the ground outside of the shop, and never mentioned it. Mica was never present, and seems to have no concern for the customers satisfaction. She did offer to repair the top, but only after she has blamed us for ALL of the issues. BUYER BEWARE. I agree with one reviewer. The owner/manager can be a pistol sometimes. When they think they are going to sell you something it's all smiles, handshakes, and 'thank you's', but have a problem and the 'tables turn', quite literally! However, even though I don't know the family that well (and I think they are somehow related to the McGee masonry company, but not quite sure) they seem to be decent hardworking people. But I almost get the idea that they are making a classic business mistake and overextending/overpromising themselves at times, thus getting behind and when you do that workmanship can start lagging due to having to hoof it. That's probably when the owner/manager gets into one of her moods that some might find a turn off. Just being stressed. My brother owns his own business and he's the same when he's under stress, even if it's a customer service issue; he gets a little huffy, but it's not personal as he's already thinking of making the next $$! read more
