I came by my local Footlocker for a few reasons: 1) I've never been to it and was curious about its…read moreselection and service. 2) Even though I have more than enough sneakers to fill my needs now, if there was one for a good price I could buy another pair and 3) My mother desperately needed a new pair of sneakers...she only has two and they are pretty used and beaten up. We all have a family vacation coming up next week and she needs comfortable shoes to go out and about Washington. She told me she had been having problems finding somewhere that sells sneakers in her size....she has wide feet. And, I know that is a problem for even the men side of my family has....most shoe stores have a small, barely existent selection of shoes for men with wide feet. But she said she has not been able to find even when she went to one of the few lady foot lockers in south Florida (closest one is Doral). I was very surprised. So I said let's just go to get the regular foot locker and see what we can find. We were immediately greeted at the door by two employees, who quickly went to assist us. Store is small, but clean and orderly. I interestingly noted that the men's section of the store dwarfed both the women's and children's section. The ratio was 50% men, 25% Women, 25% kids. They attempted to find shoes for her but were stymied by the limited selection. They only found a few shoes in her length...none in her width. She tried putting them on and she could barely get them in and they according to her were painful. We asked if we could place an order and they said they couldn't order shoes in her size. Well that's not fair. Heck I've ordered shoes in wide feet in the past at Footlocker. When did this change? Footlocker needs to increase its selection of shoes for those who don't have normal sized feet. At the very least they should be able to order shoes for those that don't. Is the service good here...yes. Is the store nice....yes....but if we can't buy your shoes...what the point?

Kids selection seemed to be a second priority while women's shoes were basically obsolete. It was bad. Also, when I walked in there were two other customers in the store, making me the third. Lots of parking and bathrooms were relatively clean. Could use better signage. Like maybe a directory to see what other stores were in that outlet center. Great pricing in the two stores I visited.i didn't run into any outlet employees so can't comment on that. Seems relatively small - but I'm used to giant outlet malls. Happy that it wasn't super crowded.

Who buys this? The shoes fare slightly better. Lots of styles from 4-5 years ago. Shoes are not cheap. Most are still $50, $60, $70. I did not see any higher end shoes here for a reduced price. Most were from Nike's low end. I am guessing foreign tourists are their target market.

The only downside is that they don't carry every style nor size. But you get what you get and don't throw a fit. This store doesn't take calls about inventory so you can't call to see if they have the shoes you want. You have to go in person. I was a bit worried that the place would be packed on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. But I was pleasantly surprised that while it was busy, it wasn't overrun. Happy that I found the shoes I was looking for. Had to get a half size larger but better larger than smaller. Lots of staff in the store and at the register so the line moved quick. It's a long drive from Miami - over an hour without traffic.

They generally do NOT give cash back on debit purchases. The base has back up power in event of a disaster, making the shoppette a good safe post hurricane shopping location. The class VI section is decent with four isles and a walk in cooler. Clothing sales portion is decent for size with army, air force, and a rotating stock of commercial tactical items. They will special order if required. Decent selection of snack food items if you are hungry. Gas is not always competitively priced compared to off post. They do give a nickel per gallon military star discount. There is an air an water station, but the air hose is frequently broke. It is a safer place to fuel up compared to other nearby alternatives. They are open from 0700 to 1700 on drill weekends. They are closed on all other weekends. They should have better weekend hours since this is a reserve base. The hours are primarily catering to full timers on base.

When he called me to let me know the bikes were ready he said one bike was $75 and the other was $30. However, when I went to pick them up I was charged an additional service and wash $40 for one of the bicycles that wasn't mentioned ahead of time. The employee had even told me ahead of time that if it was more than $100 to just get a new bike. I would have preferred they were more transparent with the cost, as I asked several times. I thought the first employee was extremely nice and helpful, I wish I could recommend the place but I'm feeling a little off put by hidden costs.

Great selection of merchandise. I purchased a used stationary Smart bike I found on the internet. The seller left it at the shop for me to pick up. Ernesto had no financial gain from my visit but yet we talked and laughed. I'll definitely be back to purchase some gear. They had a great bike fitter and I could tell he knew what he was doing. This is definitely a bike shop to visit.
