After spending eight months looking for a mother of the bride's dress and finding nothing I liked because of all the shortages, a family member suggested trying Ann Marie's in Homestead, Fl. I'm so glad I did. It was an hour and a half away from where I was staying but so worth the drive. Upon arrival I was greeted by Ann Marie herself, and her assistant. They were both so warm and welcoming. I made an appointment and told them what I was looking for. Upon arrival I tried on 8 gowns and I found one that I absolutely loved and bought, and it was in my price range. Ann Marie herself provided one on one attention. I never felt pressured to buy anything. She knows her stuff, and found me my gown in the right size and color. Ann Marie took my measurements and ordered me the gown. Ann Marie's sells a variety of sophisticated styles of clothing besides gowns. She also sells beautiful jewelry, to help finish an outfit. All alterations are done on the premises. Ann Marie is wonderful! I saw a dress I wanted in Maryland at Synchronicity Boutique however it was not the color I desired. The lady at the store basically said, this is the one I have, I can't get it in any other color. So I left and googled Jovani retailers. I called several and all but one retailer told me to pound sand..in a nice way. When I spoke with AnnMarie, she put me on hold and called the manufacturer to inquire about securing the dress in my color of choice and guess what, they agreed to supply it. A few months later AnnMarie called and advised the dress had arrived, she checked it out and would be shipping it to Maryland the following Monday as she did not want to send it that Friday because she did not want it to sit in an UPS warehouse over the weekend. I'll give this place 2 stars because they actually have beautiful dresses. We recently came in to shop for mother of the groom dress. We saw some we loved and decided to try on. We had no privacy whatsoever. We had the lady constantly peeking thru the door or knocking asking if we needed help. I get it customer service is key and it's ok to ask. But not every 10 seconds. 5 mins after we started trying on she started asking to return to her the ones we didn't like. Seriously lady, let me try on in peace. If I needed help, I would ask. If you're like most people and don't like someone constantly on top of you, do not shop here. I also trying getting a pic of a dress to show my mom (mother of the bride) and was told I couldn't get it out to take pics. How am I supposed to purchase it she doesn't see it? Yes, I am a guy reviewing a dress shop. This place rocks! My wife has a pension for sparkly Sherri Hill dresses and it was so frustrating trying to find a honest store in South Florida. Thank God Ann Marie's actually delivers on what they say, unlike so many other stores that embellish or flat out lie just to get you in the store. The staff at Ann Marie's is knowledgeable and extremely professional. Also, the store is practically brand new! I would try to keep this place a secret, but I doubt many girls will have the tenacity to actually drive to Homestead just to try on a dress. :) ps. Wonderful experience. I came in late last night , 15 min prior to closing, and showed Ann Marie exactly what I wanted in a wedding dress. She dedicated her time to me and pulled out a bunch of different options all while choosing the style and colors I was after. She made an appointment for me this morning and I had a fabulous fitting with Cindy and Stephanie. They weren't pushy in the least bit. Only way to describe them: pleasant, helpful and wonderful. This was the first time my daughter and I had to prepare for her going to the prom. And she wanted to rock a tux. We couldn't have found a better place for this entire experience. Admittedly clueless, Ann Marie didn't skip a beat. We were welcomed like friends and she simultaneously comforted us and guided us through the entire process with her graceful expertise. Due to my amateur status I didn't realize that we weren't just going to a shop and picking a fancy suit off of a rack. She wasn't phased and didn't highlight my blunder. She helped us pick out the perfect outfit, had her fitted, expedited the arrival without making me stressed on timing, set up the follow up for adjustments and kept me at ease when I am typically anxious by nature. And the result was a very sharp, very confident little girl who had an amazing night. And as a bonus; when I was permitted I got some amazing photos for lots of wonderful memories. I went to Ann Marie's looking for a wedding dress. Unfortunately, I had a terrible experience. The sales lady Suzanne was extremely rude. When I explained the style of dress I was looking for she told me she didn't have those types of dresses and brought me whatever she thought would look good on me. Then she asked me why I wasn't wearing my engagement ring. When it was time to try on the dress I was told to undress in front of her! I was shocked!!! That was my cue to head for the exit! i took my daughter Prom dress shopping at Ann Marie's and was very disappointed. If you want to be treated terribly by old ladies that are rude then this is the place to go. The young lady that helped us was very sweet and was trying her best to find my daughter a dress. She was interrupted by other associates that were of no help to us. My daughter brought in a pair or high heeled shoes and was told that she could not wear them because she would rip their dress. She was then told that she should look at herself in the mirrors outside of the fitting room. As soon as she did another associate came over to tell her she couldn't be there because there were other customers getting fitted. We felt very uncomfortable and did not feel welcome at all. I could go on but I will just say that right before we left another associate told my daughter that she was going to have to go to prom in her jeans. My daughter left in tears. read more
