Flavoursome, a good mix of tastes & spices, reasonable variety, friendly efficient customer service. We went last minute, staff were friendly and more than happy to accommodate. I've driven past Simply Thai a hundred times since moving to the area but hadn't got around to trying it yet. So on a rare bubby-free evening, I headed down there with my mum to check it out. We went just before 6pm as we were both hungry and happily noted it opened for dinner at 5pm. There was only one other group when we got there but by the time we left, it had filled considerably and become quite busy. We chose a table for two against the windows/doors and were attended to right away for a drinks order, allowing us to peruse the food options at leisure. So many tempting sounding dishes meant that we deliberated considerably before choosing an entrée plate to share then a wok satay beef for Mum and the special Gaga BBQ Chicken for me. The entrée featured two each of standard Thai favourites; chicken satay, spring rolls, Pandam chicken and krokets (potato balls filled with spiced chicken mince). All delicious, particularly the satay coated in rich peanutty sauce. Our mains arrived after a short wait. Mine included rice but Mum's did not which she was surprised about. Still, she enjoyed it and my dish; BBQ chicken tossed in a tasty basil and coconut cream sauce was exactly what I felt like. The tender chunks of chicken were of high quality, tender and cooked perfectly, the sauce tasty and with a perfect level of warmth rather than unpleasantly chillified. I had to force myself to stop eating once I got full. The service was friendly, polite and efficient. The walls are modern black with blonde wooden furniture, black tablecloths and colourful modern art on the walls. Not traditionally Thai décor but pleasant and inviting. The group already there when we arrived had high chairs and there was a kid's menu displayed on the wall so I'm assuming a good level of child friendliness which is good to know for future visits. One small nitpick - the tablecloth was quite grotty on Mum's side - maybe a more rigorous check before setting the table would pick that up. On the way out, I picked up a takeaway menu and a loyalty card and plan to be back to try the chicken larb without delay. read more

Yeah, alright! Between two we ordered a thai green curry and a panang beef curry. Both were incredibly tasty and well sized, however I felt that the sauce for the green curry was a little runny / watery. Other than that, the service was good, the atmosphere was fine and the prices run of the mill. Can't go too wrong here - except for the parking - it was only a Thursday night and their car park was packed - and being right on a main road, there aren't a huge abundance of places to park nearby. read more

Sigh, I love Thai and wish there was awesome things to say about simply Thai but there isn't. Let's be honest I have never eaten in only taken away, the food lacks flavour and the cuts of meat used are flabby and gristly. Over priced and under delivered on favour and deliciousness. Excellent service. The food are amazing and absolutely delicious. They don't serve cocktails but the waiter made it work and made me a yummy Espresso Martini. The food are served hot and perfectly cooked. I recommend the BBQ Coconut Chicken and Crispy Beef. They are to die for! read more

We have just moved to Vista a couple months ago and this was our first takeout since coming to the TTG area. Staff were super friendly. Meals were quick for takeaway - very fresh ingredients and super delicious, between 4 of us we shared the pad Thai, Thai chicken red curry, drunken noodles and satay beef with a side of the fried rice. Meal prices were fair and affordable. We would defiantly return and recommend Simply Thai to our friends and family. read more

This is a regular takeaway place for us. We are totally addicted to the potato krokets and love the pandan chicken entrees. I never really liked spicy food previously so have always had the ba mee noodles now this is the fav with my kids and is great with a squeeze of lemon. The BBQ chicken noodle salad is great very fresh with great flavors though it can be a bit spicy at times. I would love to see a few dessert options on the menu read more

Wow what's happened to this place? Thank god the food was really good because there was no service what so ever. I've been here a couple f times before and the service was wonderful. This time it was pretty busy and the guy who appeared to be greeting people just seemed extremely stressed and took no time to welcome the guests. We were offered drinks when we arrived and had finished them and waited and waited for someone to come and take our order, looking around I noticed several tables still waiting to be served. Finally I had to grab a passing waiter and ask if someone could take our order and was told quite rudely to wait and he will be back. Finally he returned and said "right what do you want" no eye contact or pleasantries. The food came very quickly but I had to grab another waiter to order another drink. After the meal we waited and then had to grab another passing waiter to order dessert. Didn't worry about trying to order more drinks as no one asked if we wanted some and was just tired of having to grab someone rushing by. I appreciate they may have been busy but there were several tables free and I kind of think that if your going to run an establishment that caters to this many people the hey have enough staff to service your customers. Most places I've been to have an individual or two to take care of a table here it just appeared to be reactive. I noticed that while they didn't pay too much attention to our needs, they certainly didn't forget to make sure everything was added to the bill correctly. I actually wondered for a while if anyone would notice if we got up and left without paying. Not our style though. We eventually were able to get the attention of a passing waiter and was able to get the bill. In the past I'd have given this place a 4 or even 5 star rating. This time 2 stars based entirely on the food. Will I go back? I have to say that I felt so disappointed and insulted through the appalling lack of service that I wonder if I'd risk going back. read more
