I think at the maximum, residents should be subject to no more than one inspection every six months. It's harassment. My toilets aren't running, go away! Half a dozen inspections over an electrical box and they violate tenant privacy. Two to Four inspections a year is the absolute maximum I should be subjected to. At this point it's just harassment. It's this HOA and not my landlord demanding inspection.

I rented a house at 22485 Tulane Ave in Farmington Hills. The house was in very poor condition. I…read moremoved in and the walls were NOT painted and probably had not been for years. The floors are sinking in and I had to put my furniture on shims to level them. The windows had no screens and in the winter were extremely drafty! The house was only 700 square feet and my thermostat was set at 65 and my gas bill was over 250.00 a month!! But despite all of this I lived there, paid my rent of 800.00/month(way overpriced) and dealt with it all. Well in November the furnace went out and yes it was cold outside(32 degrees) and I went without heat for 18 days! The reason; the unit was so old (13yrs) that they had to have a part made for it. I contacted several heating companies and they all agreed that a new unit would have been best; but the landlord was too cheap to fix it the right way! And during these 18 days without heat I did not hear from my landlord once! And if I contacted him to check the status I was told I am very busy right now and do not have time for this"...but he claims to be such a nice guy! yeah right; a nice guy would not have let his tenant sit in a freezing house for 18 days! But it doesn't end there; I turned in my 30 day notice and moved out in 30 days. I paid a 1000.00 deposit that he fought tooth and nail to give me back. He came up with all kids of bogus charges (ex: painting /carpet cleaning(all required for him to do by MI law), claimed I did not move out on time( I moved in 30 days), claims that because he failed to have the electricity switched to his name after I called and had it taken from my name, DTE shut off power all together and he claims a pipe froze in the washer causing tile damage. Oh and the picture he sent of the damage was time dated and stamped prior to me moving in! Oh and the last thing he tried to deduct me for was a water bill he again claimed I did not pay(again per the photo he sent me..it was a bill from Sept 2010. I moved in March 2014!) After several talks with my attorney in regards to his failure to comply with MI law I had to threaten to take him to court; which I would have won because he failed to comply with the Security deposit law; I after over 45 days received my deposit back. I am really just hoping that other people who will have to deal with this company make sure to take photos and save every voicemail/text that you have with them. Trust me when you go to move out they will try to scam you out of your money as well. Renters beware!!!

They have zero liability, but refuse to be reasonable or even honest about working with me. They haven't responded to my attorney either.
