Even though they take reservations; and don't respond right away. You can show up and get a table unless really busy. The food is good; not amazing. The pasties were not as amazing as photos showed. Basque cheese cake didn't melt in the middle once cut and it should to be a true one. It might be better if it wasn't so warm inside the restaurant. Eating warm food when you also are already sweeting is not comfortable and takes away from the whole experience. Canned sodas also a negative. Was very hopeful it would be amazing and take me back to Portugal. They weren't very free with their jam and some of the staff weren't the nicest or most friendly.(I think some were related to the owner). All and all it was a disappointment. I recently ate here for the first time with a friend. I was quite impressed and food is very good. I especially loved the Sentra potatoes that came with my Benedict. Going back, last week with my wife to introduce her to this wonderful new spot that I discovered, I have to say that while the smoked salmon Benedict was excellent, I was so disappointed in the famous Cintra Potatoes, that I don't know that I'll go back. Sintra Cafe - Lunch Review I visited Sintra Cafe for lunch with a couple of friends. It's a Portuguese-influenced restaurant with a clean, well-kept space and an open, airy ambiance. Ordering is done at the counter, and the food is brought to your table. The person taking our order seemed a little frustrated with us, and we probably deserved it since we weren't very focused, but overall the staff was friendly, professional, and polite. The food came out in what I'd call a perfect amount of time. We had a bit of time to catch up but certainly did not feel like we were waiting for the food to come out. I had the steak sandwich (Prego), which was flavorful and tender. Both of my friends enjoyed their meals as well: one had the Linguica Pizza, and the other went for a steak salad. (I usually tune out when I hear the word "salad," but he gave it high marks. The pizza looked delicious!) Their prices hover between $16 and $20. Thankfully, one of my friends paid and did not grimace at the cost. Thanks Steve. We all enjoyed the meal. Great space, great food, great company. I'd be very comfortable recommending Sintra Cafe to anyone looking for a nice lunch spot. They also have a tasty-looking breakfast menu, and they're open only for breakfast and lunch. read more

Outstanding! I was super amazed by the menu, the great service and a clean modern look of this place. I would happily come back again. I went in here for a quick lunch and ordered a kombucha on tap with their tacos. I was absolutely impressed by how flavorful the tacos were. Not only was there in Asada style meat, but also some sausage. The food was vibrant and fresh. There is a wonderful cilantro Crema on top of them that just made this absolutely delicious. We did feel a bit of pressure to order right away and didn't want to step aside because there was a line behind us. That's really the only factor I can point to that's remotely negative but also not complaining it's an observation. I see after being there why this works for the restaurant. You order at the counter, get a number, and then sit. Since it was our first time, we wanted to look over the menu, but we ended up just going with the specials -- and honestly, they were incredible. We had a unique and delicious Portuguese sausage biscuits‑and‑gravy dish with bacon on the side, and the other plate was an eggs benedict on an amazingly light, airy muffin with tomato, perfectly poached eggs, and a Portuguese sausage link, plus potatoes. Our plates were spotless by the end. The house iced tea was also a standout -- infused with fruit and specialty tea, but without actual fruit pieces in the cup. It tasted elevated and refreshing. I also ordered a cinnamon‑cardamom coffee, which was divine. Next time -- because there will be a next time -- we're thinking of sharing the special of the day and getting a spread of fresh pastries. We got the steak benedict and the francesinha to share for breakfast. Both contain steak which was super tender, well seasoned and cooked perfectly. The steak benedict contained a half normal hollandaise and half chipotle hollandaise which was pretty tasty, although I could find this at other breakfast restaurants. The star of the show was the Francesinha, a classic portuguese sandwich type dish that had sausage, ham and steak in between two slices of grilled bread, topped with egg, melted swiss cheese and a very flavorful beer infused tomato sauce that soaked into the whole thing. That sauce tasted like tomato soup but it was just so good and I practically inhaled that sauce. That dish alone will have me coming back. Both are supposed to come with breakfast potatoes, and when I received chips instead of potatoes and let one of the employees know, they happily brought out the potatoes within a minute. The chai tea latte was tasty, but it almost tasted like horchata if you like that. It was a busy Sunday morning, and you order at the counter and find your own table, which we found immediately. My partner and I came to Sintra this past weekend and left incredibly disappointed. We arrived around 12:10 pm with only 4-5 people ahead of us. We were quoted a 40-minute wait, but our food didn't arrive until over 1.5 hours later - and that was after checking in multiple times. Meanwhile, we watched table after table (who ordered well after us) receive their meals. Staff explained the delay by saying there was a "rush" when we arrived, which was just a small handful of orders ahead of ours. If that alone can derail service for over an hour, something in the kitchen's organization or training needs serious attention. We had planned to dine in, but after repeated check-ins, the friendliness from staff noticeably cooled. By the time our food was ready, we opted for a refund, which they did issue - along with our meals to-go. Sadly, the food wasn't worth the wait. My Luisa Sandwich was soggy, overloaded with cheese, and poorly assembled, with a single dot of balsamic vinaigrette on top. I couldn't eat more than two bites. My partner's tacos were also soggy and bland. Both meals went straight into the trash. I rarely give 5 stars on an initial visit... but from ambiance to food to service on a Late Sunday morning too, this place was firing on all cylinders. I like their system. When you walk up the entry ramp you grab a menu and wait in line. They've got a full bar and an espresso bar along with fresh baked goods and specials. The wait to order was a few mins (5-10) but the guy at the counter (owner?) was super friendly and personable. To the right is self service condiments, cups, glasses, utensils, a pot of coffee and a huge container of water. Once you order you get a number THEN find a seat. Everything we ate here was awesome and we loved the "piri piri" hot sauce. We tried the linguiça scramble and the Portuguese Benedict, both with the Sintra potatoes. Dear Sintra, You transported me to a Portuguese cafe the moment I stepped in. The decor inside the restaurant reminds you of the european vibes. I ordered the linguica scramble and belgium waffle. They're able to open one of the large windows facing the street to let the outside in. And they have a few tables outside on the sidewalk. What happens when a group of Portuguese people travel? They always find a Portuguese spot to try. First impression: Lovely place! The decor was spot on with the Portuguese tile as the logo, the photos on the walls from Portugal, and the rest of the decor. You can tell that this is a very cute and trendy cafe. They also had merchandise for purchase which I couldn't resist and bought myself a t-shirt. Our group ordered several different drinks including the Portuguese coffee, mimosa, mocha, caiparinha, moscow mule, and espresso martini. On average, we rated our drinks about a 6/10. The mocha was the favorite in our group but the alcoholic beverages were a miss for the rest of us. We didn't try any food, so I have no comments on that. Lastly, the service was good. The girls that helped us were very nice and answered all of our questions. Overall, I really enjoyed the vibe at Sintra but I wish I would have tried a non-alcoholic coffee. read more

Hubs had the burrito and liked it, but wanted more of a "kick" to it. The red sauce on top is just tomato, when he assumed it was salsa.
