My favorite are the ones of women because they are portrayed out-of-this-world beautifully. There is one that is two faces of girls or women (near the front of the building) that I really love and connected to the most because it looked like my sister and me. Unfortunately, three kids didn't show up, but the setup still worked out perfectly. The layout is on the smaller side, so I wouldn't recommend too many adults, but it created a cozy atmosphere where everyone could still enjoy themselves comfortably. One of the best parts was being able to bring our own food. We had pizza, and because we're Filipino, we also brought pancit and lumpia, which everyone enjoyed. The location was convenient as well. Parking was decent for the middle of the day, and having a dollar store right next door was perfect for grabbing a few last-minute party items. Overall, the two-hour party felt like two minutes because the kids were having such a great time. We enjoyed art, pizza, cake, and quality family time together. Please be careful if going up and down the stairs because the handrails are a bit wobbly and unstable. Experience: this gallery is WAY bigger than it looks from the outside. Upon entering, you can turn left and go enjoy their bar, or you can turn right and enter a world of art. A lot of the art here is a darker theme, but some of it isn't. The art is mostly paintings but there are some small sculptures and photo art. I also learned they have an escape room you can play, but I haven't experienced this one yet!

This is not your typical classical, safe paintings that you see else. No these paintings have an edge, a uniqueness about them which I love. I thought I needed to go to LA for this type of stuff, but seeing it here in Escondido was refreshing. There's an upstairs too which has the artist's personal room they paint in which I thought was cool, some were open and other's were closed. There were plenty of paintings show casing their work. If interested in any of the pieces you just tell the guy working at the front, and mention the artist's name, and title of the picture. As I walked back downstairs I told the guy I was there to pick up 2 Victor Roman art pieces (Miss Green & Miss Mirren), and a August Williams (Paris). My husband contacted him and told him I'd be there. The guy grabbed my pictures, I was very pleased with the quality of the pictures. You can pay by pay pal, cc, or cash. I paid with CC and was e-mailed a receipt promptly. I can't wait to go back and bring others along.

In class, I followed the typical process of starting with drawing, progressing to shading, then painting. I have developed the ability to see subtleties in images that I did not notice before. This alone has improved my work. I have learned to create virtually any color from a limited palette, which has greatly simplified my process compared to what I was doing prior to the class. She had our palettes and brushes set out, wipes for cleaning, and aprons to protect our clothes. We had a lot of fun and learned a lot as we are completely novice painters! She showed us how to use the knife and brushes to achieve different painting techniques by demonstrating and then helping out when, surprise, we were not perfect the first time! We were pleased with our results as well (shocker!). She was very patient and instructive. This was a fabulous introduction to painting, and we recommend Rita highly.
