Accessibility: the door to enter is a single pull door. Once inside, there is a large flat ground…read morelevel where you can go to the bar or look at tons of art. There is a second floor that you can only access by stairs, but even if you cannot get upstairs, there is plenty of beautiful art to see on the bottom floor. Please be careful if going up and down the stairs because the handrails are a bit wobbly and unstable. Experience: this gallery is WAY bigger than it looks from the outside. Upon entering, you can turn left and go enjoy their bar, or you can turn right and enter a world of art. A lot of the art here is a darker theme, but some of it isn't. The art is mostly paintings but there are some small sculptures and photo art. I also learned they have an escape room you can play, but I haven't experienced this one yet!

Never knew about this place until today. I walked in a little after it opened and was in awe with…read morethe unique artwork I was seeing. This is not your typical classical, safe paintings that you see else. No these paintings have an edge, a uniqueness about them which I love. I thought I needed to go to LA for this type of stuff, but seeing it here in Escondido was refreshing. There's an upstairs too which has the artist's personal room they paint in which I thought was cool, some were open and other's were closed. There were plenty of paintings show casing their work. If interested in any of the pieces you just tell the guy working at the front, and mention the artist's name, and title of the picture. As I walked back downstairs I told the guy I was there to pick up 2 Victor Roman art pieces (Miss Green & Miss Mirren), and a August Williams (Paris). My husband contacted him and told him I'd be there. The guy grabbed my pictures, I was very pleased with the quality of the pictures. You can pay by pay pal, cc, or cash. I paid with CC and was e-mailed a receipt promptly. I can't wait to go back and bring others along.

The first impression I had when walking into the shop was, man, what a mess. There's just random…read morestuff all over the place, and what are obviously customer pieces sitting on the floor. Interesting. But, the other reviews said what an awesome job they did, so I figured that I'd let that influence me more than the mess in front of me. The lady working there was in the back chatting with someone, and I waited a few minutes before I poked my head back there to let them know I was in the lobby area. She politely said hello and said she would be with me in a minute. Well, after 20 minutes or so of listening to the lady and the guy in there bullshit about random things, they both made their way up to the front, and the gentleman left. They both thanked me for being so patient. Now, I totally understand that if there's one person working there, and two customers, one of the customers is going to have to wait. I was fine with that, but I think if you know that you have someone else waiting in the lobby, at least shoot the shit somewhere where they can't hear you. It was mildly irritating. When I was finally helped, I asked for a fairly common type of frame (1/4 - 3/8" brushed aluminum), which they didn't have. She said something about the recession making things difficult to get, and the manufacturers were not making a lot of different frames anymore. Whatever. So I took my stuff literally less than 2 miles away, where I was helped almost immediately, and they had exactly what I was looking for. I asked if they had any issues obtaining framing material because of the recession, and they looked at me like I had a third eye. I figured as much.

The owner is amazing. She has a lot of knowledge about custom framing, canvas stretching and art…read more They also hosts several events throughout the year. There is food, wine and art. Get there early for art shows if you want to meet and greet with the artists.

I strolled into this gallery while visiting San Diego and it was absolutely fantastic. The owner,…read morean artist name Viz displays and sells artwork from artists he finds fascinating and his own personal work. One artist who is being displayed prints all his photographs onto a type of metal that means the picture will never fade and stay vivid forever. This artist travels the USA taking photographs all over and then printing and selling the work. (Can I do that too? Hehe) Viz's work began with a doodle. He doodle in his free time and then started adding other images into the bigger doodle. His artwork is incredible and you have to see it to understand what I mean. I'll attach a few photos below. If you're in the area, definitely stop by this shop.

While attending Fiesta Hermosa (09-02-2013) I came across Viz Art Ink Gallery and artist Gregg 'Viz' Visintainer. Gregg is an amazing artist / amazing person and has actually been a guest speaker at the TED conferences. Gregg is a self-taught artist. Gregg has a very unique style of drawing. Like many other artists (including myself) while in school, instead of doing school work Gregg enjoyed doodling. After graduation Gregg took some time away from art but thrust himself back into the artistic world by creating a work of art called 'Lonely World' which took Gregg 3 months / 250 hours to finish. Viz Art Ink is all hand drawn using gel pen / ink. From afar there is a main image but up close you will find hidden pictures, words, messages and a lot of meaning that relates to each theme. Gregg & Viz Art Ink has been picked up by Element skateboards, Volcom, DC shoes, Gregs Skateboards, Skin-It, Grateful Dead, Falken Tires & Disney (Yes, that Disney). I do not believe in allowing artists to starve so I ended up picking an amazing T-shirt of one of Gregg's prints. The piece that I picked up was a depiction of Japanese art of The Great Wave off KanagawaI with a rising sun in the background. I am very pleased with my purchase and planning on visiting Gregg's gallery in Carlsbad to checkout more of his works of art. People like Gregg and Viz Art Ink is what keeps Fiesta Hermosa going. Make sure you set you the dates in your calendar and make sure you attend Fiesta Hermosa next year on Memorial & Labor Day weekends. If you are looking for an amazing work of art for a bare wall at your home you might have found it here with this review=)
