Very cool vibe, it's small and if you don't book a reservation your will have to wait a while. The drinks were super unique and all tasted amazing the staff was on top of everything and we didn't have to wait for anything. Note: they don't spit checks but they will let you spilt credit cards on the same check if with a group of people.

We're on vacation in Barcelona and I did a lot of research on the best bars. This was way up the list as they only accept reservations. If you just show up unannounced you MIGHT get in but have to wait in a line on the street. They have a cool sleek/dark ambiance. The waiters are nice and knowledgeable of everything they offer. My girlfriend wasn't able to drink alcohol this day so they made her mock-tails no problem. Drinks are around $15 each but well worth the spectacle! They open at 630pm each day. Definitely make the reservation and swing by! Visits have a maximum time of 90 minutes before you have to pay out.

Don't get me wrong. This place is good but I don't think this should be the #1 ranked bar in the world. I believe it used to be ranked 3, but as of the newest rating it's now at the top of the list. Being the top ranked bar in the whole world comes with hype and this place is no different. When we got here 25 minutes before it opened there was a line already. Luckily we made the cutoff and we were able to get seated but the people behind us had to wait for roughly another hour to get inside. We ended up getting four drinks and I think the best one was the mil fulls. It was sweet and not too strong. The bubbles drinks was pretty interesting and the espresso martini was solid. The expresso martini had coffee foam on top which made it different. And if you get the bubble drink, they'll give you the bubbles you can blow and play with. This place also serves food but we just had dinner and didn't opt for it, however, they'll provide you wasabi peas for snacks. The inside was dimly lit and the service was pretty good. Again, I just don't think this place is number one considering Barcelona has paradiso and I personally think that's a better bar.

Frida Kahlo. SO good.

Rated #1 bar in the world, so my husband and I had high expectations, and they were met! First off, go with a group of 2-4, no more! Second, expect to wait outside for a bit (We waited about 70 minutes at 6:45pm). We tried 8 cocktails. Our favorites were their espresso martini (uniquely made with whiskey for some smoke and a hefty amount of foam) and the Frida Kahlo (perfect balance of tequila, a little bit of tomatillo, and just the right sweetness. The garnish was delicious!). The only drink we would NOT recommend is the Primordial unless you're doing it for Insta.. it just tasted like juicy wine and was awkward to drink. The service was fantastic.. they were constantly there to answer questions, helping fill our waters, and giving us free snacks like wasabi peanuts. I would absolutely return and highly recommend it!

Came here during my trip to Spain as I'm sure most people who lined up here wanted to try this place because it was rated the #1 Cocktail Bar in the World for 2023. Showed up around 30-40ish min before opening on a Saturday night to queue up. There was already two other groups ahead of us when we showed up and line got really long about 5-10min before opening. At any rate, we were seated right away once they opened. We ordered six drinks total over the course of about 2 hours (they have a 45min time limit between each drinks which feels a bit aggressive, but understandable given how popular they are). The following is my personal ranking of the drinks we ordered: 1. Mil Fulls 2. Ron Coco 3. Frida Kahlo 4. Blanc 5. Krypta 6. Compressed I believe my wife's favorite drink was the Ron Coco. I think on paper all the drinks sounded really interesting, but I found that the bottom three drinks I got, although clearly well mixed and crafted, weren't super unique or out of this world for me. I found I really couldn't really taste some of the flavors mentioned in the menu, either. Ironically though, the Mil Fulls was my favorite because of just how simple, but well balanced and refreshing the drink was. I found the touch of vanilla blended really well without being overly sweet. Overall, I think Sips was a really fun vibe with great service and for the most part solid to good drinks. Would I rate it #1 in the world? Probably not, but that's just subjective. My personal favorite bar in the world was actually just named #2 in the world, Double Chicken Please. But even in the city of Barcelona, I found Paradiso (#4 in the world in 2023, #1 in 2022), had a similar experience if not better in some regards. I'd say Sips and Paradiso are definitely worth a visit and you can't go wrong with both while you're in Barcelona, but I'd certainly temper expectations that the drinks are the best in the world.

Before ever getting to Barcelona I already knew I had to make an effort to stop by the bar voted #1in 2023's world's 50 best bars. If you find yourself in Barcelona and you're a purveyor of crafty cocktails, do yourself a favor and visit Sips. Plan accordingly as the wait can and will range from 45 min to 1hr+ depending on your party size. TIP: Couples and late, late-night arrivals are an advantage. Our wait for two was exactly 45 minutes. We were met with a hospitable welcome by our bartenders, a cozy atmosphere, and a citrusy sweet welcome drink. Drinks: Sip it up, you have 45 minutes per drink! Those were the welcoming words of our server. So we scanned our table QR code and dove into the menu. We were brought water and a delicious small bowl of marinaded olives. Each service came with a brief explanation of the cocktail. Our first round included the Krypta, an aromatic cocktail you can breathe, and Sips Two Steps Martini with Canaima gin. Crisp and smooth. Second we sipped on Sips cloudy espresso martini with cold brew coffee and Macallan 12 year whiskey, and Sips never melting Negroni with Sipsmith gin. There certainly is an appeal for the presentation of Sips cocktails and the quality compliments the average 15€ per drink, but I couldn't find a reason to fall in love with the entire experience. Something was missing for me. Either the Sips bar was raised too high, or perhaps it was the feeling that our experience came with a clock and the sooner we were done, the sooner they could turn the table to keep the line moving. Service: Service felt no different than any other bar. Not bad, not exceptional. Prompt and helpful. Our water was topped off and refilled excessively, but attentively. As this was a celebratory experience as well, I last minute mentioned to our server that we were celebrating a birthday and asked if they could possibly embarrass my husband when he got back from the restroom. Shortly after our server returned with a custom drink and a long candle. A few servers joined in and the bar clapped. I appreciate the staff making an effort to accommodate impromptu requests but the service itself was as underwhelming as a TGI Fridays. Ambiance: Sips operates under sexy bar lighting with elegant modern seating, some communal high-top tables. Bartenders operate from a unique island bar station off the main wall. Busy as most bars are a hit playlist kept the mood chill. Restrooms are up a flight of stairs, smell-free, and spotless. One experience I definitely did miss at Sips is the direct interaction with bartenders, the mysterious mixologists of your cocktails. When a bar is elevated to such an accolade as Top 50 Bars in the World, I anticipate more than just a clever cocktail. That said, I implore you to make nice with your staff, bartenders, explore the menu, soak up the space, good music, and specialty drinks. Thank you for the hospitality and crafty cocktails Sips. Cheers!

Well worth the wait after standing outside for 2 hours. Definitely get a reservation. Drinks are insanely good and creative and the staff is above and beyond

Rated the number one bar in the world in 2023 so we came in with very high expectations. The service was phenomenal, the staff enjoy their job. The food is very minimal, like three or four choices, we tried 2 and they were good but don't go here hungry. The ambiance needed more work, it's a small bar so I think maybe a more curated playlist, to set a tone. But I would go again if I'm in town.

We arrived at 6:30 pm and tho the reservations would only allow three people (rather interesting), they welcomed our party of four. Their staff is absolutely amazing, very hospitable and enjoying. Their drinks were on point, unique and every suggestion on how to interact with the drink was the best way, for sure. I am not sure I could say enough about this place. It is definitely an experience to try if you come to Barcelona! Did I mention how exquisite the staff was? They do not serve full dishes, but has very small enjoyable bites. Great concept, enjoyable atmosphere adorned with a staff that would excite anyone in a bad mood. I am happy to have tried the place.

Sips is voted as the #1 best bar in the world by World's 50 best bars in 2023. Recommend to get there 20-30 mins before they open to be the first group of people to go in or else you might end up having to wait an hour. This bar has a unique concept / layout with an island bar where the mixologists are at center stage. Exceptional service and all of the cocktails were special, creative and fun in their own ways. We each ordered two drinks, but could have definitely ordered another round if we didn't have dinner reservations elsewhere.

Tammye B.

Ranked #1 in the world. If you can get a reservation, I'd highly recommend making a reservation. We waited over 90 mins. We had 2-3 groups cut in line as were seated before us. The reservation or wait list system needs to be updated so you don't have to stand there. Paradiso was way better in my opinion. The drinks and decor were also mediocre.

Voted Number 3 best bar in the world by Worlds Fifty Best Bars is Sips Drinkery House. Prepare to stand outside of this E'xample staple, and wait to be ushered to your table where you can only linger for 45 minutes. But as I told the hostess. At 52 you can live a lifetime in 45 minutes and do things others couldn't dream. The menu is a rotating offering of what is in season. As World's Fifty Best Bars stated "With an island bar centre stage, Sips is every bit the modern bar concept - here the bartenders and their creations are the show. And with two of the most box office drinksmiths in the cocktail world holding court, Simone Caporale and Marc Alvarez, it's quite the spectacle." My bartender at the Majestic Hotel said " I follow Simone from London to here. He really is the best mixologist in Barcelona." The line was short on a Thursday. Drinks were cheap. And the creativity Hollywoodesque. The crowd skews young.

Ranked at number three on the world's Best bars list, Sips is definitely a must go to. It is far more low-key than Paradiso so if that's more of your vibe, you should come here. It's really small and dark on the inside. Nothing crazy from a decoration standpoint. It's not a club. It's very traditionally a cocktail bar. We came when it opened so there was no line thankfully. We got a few cocktails which were reasonably priced at $13. For one of the best bars in the world, I am impressed by that price point. This bar made drinks where you could tell. The quality of ingredients and liquor was extraordinary. They balanced things like coconut water and tequila and Mezcal in a way that if you did it at some random bar, it wouldn't be nearly as well done. They also did add a little bit of molecular gastronomy with bubbles and stuff like that but it wasn't the focal point of any of the drinks. I kind of liked that because there was no gimmicky aspect. It was very clear that ingredients and high-quality were the focal points of every drink. I highly recommend this place - it's more understated than Paradiso, and also getting into paradiso is impossible so consider this place instead.

I did read that there would be QR code for a virtual queue, but we didn't see that option and just ended up waiting in line ourselves. I was worried Paradiso would have a snobby vibe to it, since it is ranked #4 in the world, but that wasn't the case at all! The servers were very friendly and the cocktails were genuinely delicious. There's also a sense of theatre when they present you with their specialty cocktails. For example, I ordered the Gravity cocktail (reminiscent of an espresso martini), and our server brought it in an interesting bowl meant to mimic a black hole and also gave a little background story to the cocktail. They provide menus in Spanish, Catalan, and English. Servers also speak English as well, so communication is not an issue. The interior is gorgeous and and had great moody lighting, there was also a great playlist on with classic pop songs. Their cocktail menu is unique and as previously mentioned, I especially loved their presentation. Most of their drinks are served in some funky cup or bowl, it was so fun seeing the servers bring out other cocktails to other tables. Overall, a 5/5 experience for me!

We got great seats at the bar. Our bartender (David, I think) was very friendly, knowledgeable, and skilled. The menu is a light-up book that has fun illustrations and useful descriptions in it, including flavors, alcohol level, and a drawing of the cocktail itself. I really like when menus show this much info. Our first round was the Subterranium and Atlantide. They were both delicious and interesting flavors. They also came with tiny bites and in interesting glassware. Our second round, the Ramses and Great Gatsby, were similarly interesting, but we liked them a bit less. David gave us some gratis truffle amaro (also delicious) on the way out. I highly recommend a stop, especially if you can sit at the bar.

Really enjoyed this bar and we can see why it's been named in the top 50 bars…read more The bartender was really engaging with the people which we enjoyed. The drinks were 8/10 The ambiance was generic but we had a good time. Definitely recommend trying it.

Wow did we want to give this place 5 stars…read more The bartenders were great and welcoming and the decor was very cool. It is a pleasant place to be physically. All of the cocktails we tried were excellent (we had two more not featured on photos here). We went Sunday 4/19 around open (5pm ish until 7:30 ish). However, our experience was sort of ruined when a female employee came over and chided my wife and two other American patrons we were talking to for being too loud. They weren't being particularly loud and at this point we were the only four people sitting at the bar itself. She was not a bartender (at that time at least) and she completely ruined our vibe with this complaint. She had been eyeing one of the other American patrons we had been talking to before she came over and confronted my wife after she laughed. The bar tenders didn't seem to be aware this happened and when we were closing out they remarked they didn't think we had been loud and that they like their guests to have fun. This female employee apparently didn't get the memo! We sense that perhaps she just dislikes Americans, which would be rich for working at an establishment like this! She also had no issues when a dog other guests brought in barked loudly multiple times, each time silencing the entire bar because the barks were so booming. The other American couple felt the same way -- the stern talking to just ruined the experience for all four of us. So... great spot but our experience was unnecessarily tarnished by a jerk employee!!!
