It's been a few years since Yelpers have reviewed this provincial park, but I can say, it seems like it's as good as its ever been. Of note, after you turn into the "entrance" of the park, it's still a good 2-3 km drive on narrow dirt/gravel roads before you enter the actual parking area. The staff were extremely friendly and knowledgeable of the petroglyphs and were very patient/enthused about answering questions about their history and interpretations. The petroglyphs themselves are housed in a nearly 40-year old structure that protects it from degradation from the elements (because acid rain and limestone don't mix) and humans (because in the 70s, people use to picnic and party on them). There are 3 trails in the area, and I'd recommend some good hiking shoes because there are good sections of elevation and rocks. The Nanabush Trail seems to be the "Goldilocks" of the them - not too long, not too short, but just right.

If you drive there using google maps you will see a small (easy to spot) parking area on the side of the road (can fit 4-8 cars), about 50-60 m before (if you are going east) were Google says the start is, There is also a rock climbing area which is the main reason people stop there.

There tons of trails, look outs, campsites, and beaches. It was nice to walk around and see the leaves. It seems relatively busy while the roads throughout seems pretty quiet at times. Also, cell service will be spotty at times depending on where you are. We used an empty campsite while having a picnic lunch and dinner for that day. It was hard to close enough place to sit and eat even though we could have reentered no problem for same day. Make sure to clean after yourself when and if you do.

We are waiting in a long lineup to dump and some people are very slow at going thru the process. I'm not amazed at any of this as it is run by the government. This is Ontarios premier park and not run very premier ....

With camp sites for less than fifty dollars a night, this is a beautiful place to set up. A bag of…read morewood is less than ten dollars, and two bags will last you all night. You can drink on your site, you can access their showers which are in great condition, and you can swim off one of the many beaches. Two hours of canoe rentals are only twenty dollars. There's good fishing in the pond past the bridge, and the waterfall trail is really accessible from off of the camp sites. Even if you don't want to sleep over, the day pass is well worth the experience. The gift shop also has three dollar Popsicle bars, and reasonably priced everything. The marshmallows are cheaper here than in town!

The skating trail is a 1.3km loop that goes throughout the forest and is lit at night with tiki torches on both the trail and the paths between the trail and parking. Beautiful surroundings, fire pits to stay warm, storage area for your belongings while you skate. Very family and community friendly. Both bathrooms and change rooms are available, along with skate rentals if needed. You do need to book in advance. Highly recommended!

There are lots of different plants, neat wooden bridges, super big trees and an abandoned old car, for some reason. It's a pretty easy walk, the ground is soft and there weren't any inclines or tough, rocky areas that I could see. It was just nice and serene, except for the sounds of some wood processing plant nearby. There's parking enough for about 20 cars, and it's free.

We stayed in a Villa (#601) which was the first one we were put in. After lugging our luggage through an un-shoveled walkway, arriving to the villa and unpacking our bags - the fireplace was not working - nor would the door lock - after complaining to front desk - we were moved to Villa #605 - again un-shoveled walkway, un-shoveled stairs, we were happy that our door was able to be locked. We discovered the TV and fireplace were not working in this unit either - Not wanting to pack up & switch rooms again - we settled for a 10% discount on the room The hotel staff we dealt with were very polite - The resort is overpriced in its current condition - the villa's are severely outdated and in need of repair & updating - the carpets were worn, and looked dirty, window treatments were out of date and shabby looking - visible cracks down the wall in the bedroom - the patio door looked like termites had been eating it and allowed huge draft into the dining area of the villa We ate at the onsite restaurant on the Friday night - service staff were friendly - food was not great - ordered the fish and chips - the batter of the fish was so overcooked, difficult to cut even with knife - and some of the fish inside the batter was not even cooked! Definitely will not book here again -
