Not sure about this since I am not an avid golfer nor am I familiar with golf memberships. The grounds are beautifully manicured and a very tranquil atmosphere is the first thing I noticed. I arrived for an event, so didn't partake in any golf however it was busy with golfers. Inside the building it is modern and clean. Took a walk around before heading to the event on the 2nd floor. Great views and everything was so green and well maintained. The space the event was held in was open, lots of windows and once again, even better views from the second floor. The room looked a bit dated, but then again it may have been the carpet? They even had a deck overlooking the course, which was lovely. The food was appetizers and on one table as self-serve. The food was good and some things were just ok. Things like veggies, mixed salad, chicken skewers all in small portions however the small bite size desserts were great. Everything from mini tarts, squares and cookies. As for the service, since all the food was self-serve and I didn't see any person, I didn't experience any service except when I went to the bar to buy a drink. Bartender was nice but since it was a very limited bar (wine and beer only) I didn't get to experience any other cocktails that a bartender would normally make. A bit disappointing. My review only pertains to that aspect of event space, catering and food service rather than the golf club part.

The distance is about 110 feet and you can golf to your heart's content for 45 cents per minute. The place is light an astro-turf amusement park, the place was full today, and why shouldn't it be, the weather is getting warmer and pretty soon people will be out on the green, so why not practise until those whitey whites melt away. For those of you wanting to get into the sport, NGA provides classes; just check the new spring schedule, but courses from $80 a lesson to $700 for 10. It was just a refreshing change to be in a pseudo like immobile heidenberg. I don't have the patience or the skill to even attempt this; my golfing skills are challenged enough on a mini golf range let alone this colossal monster. Check NGA out to improve the Tiger in you.

A few months ago, I enrolled in their Adult weeknight beginner program which is a 5-part class that's an hour each designed for adults who have no experience playing golf or for those who want to improve their basic skills. I wasn't excited about my first class as I am totally uncoordinated and know that I'll probably just humiliate myself but that all changed after my first class. Everyone at the reception area was so friendly and chill that I immediately felt at ease in an unfamiliar environment. Our teacher was Brad and he's amazing. I love how he's good at explaining and pointing out what small changes you can make to improve your swing and his recommendations always make my swing better. When the dome wasn't busy, he also extended our classes just so he could really focus on each student and address our concerns. He also helped us out in picking our clubs and pointed out why certain clubs will work or won't work for us. For a beginner, I appreciated that they have a good variety of clubs that I can borrow for free so I didn't have to spend any extra cash on clubs I'm not so sure are any good. They have your regular driving range, a putting area, several different types of simulators that can be used for group activities and video recording devices that can help in analyzing how you can further improve your swing.

We got our drinks within 5 minutes after ordering food and our meals arrived within 10-15min. The food presentation was very good and the dishes we had were of excellent quality. The fish was haddock and my ahi tuna steak was a substantial size... none of this 3-5 sashimi style slices nonsense! The pictures say it all...prices are very reasonable $14 for fish n chips and my tuna steak was $18. We absolutely will return to try surf n turf or prime rib night! The courses were quite challenging in their own ways with a few ponds. It was rather difficult on some of the holes. Overall, it was easy to navigate and I would recommend golfing here again. The food at the club house was quite decent. I had the clam chowder and dumplings for lunch. The clam chowder had a fairly decent amount of clams and it was quite tasty. The dumplings were okay. Instead of the usual soy ginger vinegary sauce, they served it with Thai sweet chilli sauce. Though on their own they were delicious, however, I found that together they were not. The sweetness of the Thai chilli sauce took away the sweetness from the dumplings and over powers the dumplings' flavour. For dinner I had their cheeseburger with fries. The burger was decent but not memorable. It had a slice of cheese, tomato, lettuce and a few onions. I found that adding ketchup to the burger helps liven up the flavours. Overall, I would definitely come back for the clam chowder.

I can sum up my review by saying "Worst course I've ever played"…read more We had not played here since the new owners had taken over but we had played here numerous times when it was Boulder Creek. On their webpage they write about new owners taking over, having "purchased the course in 2020" and were "making significant investments to improve everything! Yes, everything!". We looked at recent reviews which were only two kinds of reviews 1) "This is the best course I have ever played" (I later found that these people are either friends, paid for advertisement, or have never played another course). Or 2) "This is the worst course I have ever played". Didn't really tell us much so we decided to give it a try. With the claims that their "TURF is getting the love and care it deserves. Regrowth is underway" we figured we might be in for a treat and this was a possible hidden gem. In this case I'm not sure how a golf course can be purchased and the new owners/staff can make the course significantly worse than it was previously. Regarding course conditions, when taking a shot there was four possibilities of the lie you would be hitting from your next shot. These four conditions are: 1) Dirt/Mud 2) Weeds/Clover 3) Crab/Torpedo Grass 4) Agricultural Crops You could find most of these conditions anywhere on the course including tee boxes and greens. There was little to no golf course grass anywhere on the entire course as the only grass was located in front of the club house, which shows where the owner's/team's priority is. The only way to fix course conditions like this is to remove and replace the top 6 inches of dirt and re-seed the entire course. On the second par 3 of the course, I accidentally took a massive divot out of the teebox. I went over to the cart, grabbed a bottle of sand to repair it. The bottom fell off the sand bottle and sand went everywhere. Having a second bottle on the cart, I grabbed that one, with the exact same results. Which staff member thought it would be funny to pull a prank like this? This is about the same maturity as unscrewing the top of a salt shaker at a restaurant. On the same turf related issues, the greens looked like a combination of the 4 previous conditions, but I don't think a ball mark had been repaired on the greens... Ever. The bunkers were dirt/mud, with a ¼" layer of sandbox sand, and a smattering or 1 inch stones all through it. I opted to play them all as ground under repair hazards. None of them were raked or maintained at all as there were no rakes anywhere near the bunkers. I could count the rakes I saw throughout the day on one hand. Was this "bring your own rake" to the golf course day and I just didn't get the memo when I booked our tee time? No distance markers or signage anywhere on the course, everything was a guess. No sprinkler head markings, no teebox signs, no teebox markings. The only thing was the score card. I lost more balls than I care to admit, but when you lose most of them in the middle of the "fairway" (If you could even call it that) it's even more frustrating that putting them all in the water. We saw a single landscape crew member pull onto the fairway in their cart just as we were walking onto the tee box and just sit about 200 yards off the tee in the middle of the "fairway". Despite us hollering, or waiting a significant number of minutes while other groups piled up behind us, they just sat there on their phone, completely unaware of anything else. I finally just hit my shot. Luckily I was nowhere near this person. But I guess the sound of a golf ball rippling through the air above them at 150mph+ was enough to wake this individual up as they quickly removed their cart from such a dangerous area. I appreciate the new-ish carts, but why overcharge for a single rider? Do any other courses do this? But when both of the carts were sputtering and stalling all day, or having a hard time getting up the few hills on the course, maybe it's time to invest in a mechanic? Or a discount? The one thing I don't understand is not seeing a marshall all day, a starter that didn't seem to know anything about the rules of the game or any rules unique to this course, or landscape crews with zero self-preservation. I guess I'm not really surprised the way the day went. What I have to say to the owners: I think it's great to have new owners take up these ventures instead of large corporations that care little for the people, and I'd love to support you, but maybe it's not the time to "shake up the golf industry" or do "away with tradition & norms" or look at the "course with a new lens... to create something unique". Especially not for something that is proven to have worked for the better part of the last 100 years.

2/10 Not a good…read morevenue for weddings. Lynxridge had a change of management and staff earlier this year that resulted in predatory and unethical business practices. My wife and I decided in January to have our wedding here, and we were dealing with the wedding coordinator at the time who was very professional and cooperative to help us acheive our wedding as we had a limited budget to work with. About a month later the wedding coordinator informed me that he had left lynxridge and I found out that there was also a change of management at this time. Shortly after Tony Oliveira reached out to me informing us that he was the new wedding coordinator. We expressed concern about the change of management and that we had existing agreements with the previous coordinator but hadn't signed any contract yet. Tony reassured us that the following agreements from before would be honoured: - Waived cake cutting fees - permission to use the facility speakers (we were told they were included with rental fee). - permission to bring small amount of Ethiopian food supplementary to the food purchased from lynxridge (enough for all guests). - additionally Tony even said that they would waive the corkage fees on some wine that had been bought as a wedding gift for us. When we agreed to go with this venue we agreed to sign the contract but wanted these items amended to the contract. Multiple times Tony assured us that we need not worry as he already agreed to the above items and would "take good care of us". After deflecting on the amendments to the contract repeatedly and being reassured multiple times, we ended up signing the contract. We had everything worked out by about March. In late May, 3 weeks before the wedding, we tried to settle all the finances and were told to deal with someone else who would finalize all the payments. When we asked them to confirm that there would be no additional fees or costs, we soon discovered that all of the agreements were a lie and that not a single one of these promises would be honoured or respected. I tried to call Tony as he had promised these items personally. Tony was extremely difficult to get ahold of at this time and when I finally did reach him he denied any responsibility and refuses to even admit to things he promised. Now staying that he was not the wedding coordinator and only handled the day to day items. I emailed the general manager Tyler Cook (everyone refused to give me his phone number), and tried to discuss the prior arrangements. Tyler was unprofessional and extraordinary rude in correspondence. Tyler refused to honour what was promised by Tony months prior. We were not informed of this abrupt change in policy until 3 weeks before the wedding which prevented us from finding a different venue. We were told that there would be 2 servers in addition to Tony to serve the guests at the wedding, as well as a fully stocked bar. The 2 "servers" stayed behind the bar all night and didn't know how to make any cocktails and the bar was not fully stocked either (our guests were regularly told to go to a different bar). Lynxridge refused to serve wine to the guests and refuses to even put wine glasses on the tables (despite us paying a corkage fee for each bottle) insisting that guests have to go and ask for glasses, but no one was advised of this. We purchased 3 jugs of juice at $8 each and these turned out to be 1l oasis cartons (that sell for $1.77 each) and these were hidden in a fridge behind the bar. Our overall experience with lynxridge was horrible, but the location and venue are both really quite nice. Our experience dealing with Tony and Tyler was shockingly bad and probably my worst experience with a business in Calgary.
