Or at least to stop somewhere and get a photo either with us on horse back or holding the horse. 2) Also there are some beautiful areas as you climb the top of the hill. Lots of things to look at, deer trails and the view is beautiful. This would have been nice to have the small group (like we did at the fallen tree) gather at the top to get a few photos. 3) And speaking of vistas one side of the hill over looked an area with homes, some very beautiful homes, however I think, I don't know this for sure, but if we could have gone to the other side of the mountain if just a bit, I'm sure there would have been a beautiful untouched vista. Now I did enjoy the story by the tree but a few (just two maybe) more stops like that to tell about the work being done, the wild life, something and (with his accent and ability to tell a story) it would have been nice to have him gather the group (if more than two) and tell them a story of something historic or just a even a fable regarding that area. Now I can go on forever, but I would have thought a small outpost where riders could unmount and get a drink, feel like they were on a real trail ride. Would have been really cool. But that's not his fault, that's just wishful thinking on my part.

So much so I am sending her back for the week long summer camp, summer 2021 which runs at $1100. My daughter and I did a women's only weekend $750. I feel fortunate that Leigh let us have the Ranch to ourselves and didn't book anyone else. I would have been disappointed to share our digs with another family. Accommodations are fantastic for little girls at camp. Four bunk beds, on the main floor and two lofts with two bunk beds each. That was not communicated that if another family booked we would be sharing living arrangements. Also, I would have preferred an itinerary before hand. Leigh did communicate once we arrived dinner was at 6 and at dinner communicated the rest of the itinerary. 3 day weekends: Friday: Check in at 3 PM, dinner at 6. No horse time, but you have free time and there is a pool. Saturday: Breakfast 8 a.m. Horse ride right after breakfast. Lunch 12 p.m. horse ride right after. Then free time till dinner at 6. Sunday: Breakfast 8 a.m and a horse ride right after. Meals are homemade and delicious. Leigh has skills in the kitchen, including homemade breads! Your children will be well fed. Leigh is a likable person and the conversation at meals are fun. I love the time spent learning to groom our horses. You get to know your horse well and you ride the same one all weekend. I would do it again for my daughter, I would just pack pajamas in case we aren't the only ones there. My daughter was in love with all the dogs and cats on the ranch too. There were six dogs and I'm not a dog person but I kind-of loved them all too. Two of them protected us by staying on our porch. Which I liked because at night it does get scary. Its a ranch, out of the way, quiet, huge, and feels very much isolated. Great during sunlight! This is a really nice getaway. My daughter looks forward to returning.

Once we arrived, we found the tunnel is just the bottom of the start of the trail. While bats had migrated south for the winter, we did see a few flying inside. The trail is about a mile round trip. While we didn't hike it, it didn't appear too challenging. The lost challenging was probably walking down all thise steps to the tunnel. We'll have to make another trip during bat season to see the bats flying out of the cave

The people that run this ranch are not reputable. They took our group's deposit for a reservation…read morein 2024 last year. Recently, when they figured out that they are in the path of the total eclipse during the time of our reserved stay, they jacked up the price by over 10X and told us to pony up more money! When we refused, they cancelled the reservation. And now they are stalling on the refund. This is no way to treat customers and no way to run a business. Take your business elsewhere.

Common areas seemed cleaned, pool and water slide areas were great However, I noticed a lot of stickers in the grass, which became a daily nuisance. It seems like the property could benefit from some simple upkeep, as certain areas appear a bit tattered. It may sound trivial, but tightening the loose volleyball net, staining the post, and adding edging like railroad ties could enhance the overall appearance. The putt-putt course also felt a bit underwhelming and distressed. The game room is a BIG deal to my boys and many of the machines were plagued with issues, rendering them useless. I hope the owners consider this feedback because we truly enjoyed our time and believe that some minor updates could significantly improve the experience and drive the business forward and dragging more profits in along the way. Just a touch of vision and a little money could better the overall feel. Overall, I would still recommend it for a fun little get away but just think it would be rather easy to get it to a next level with a little tlc. The people couldn't have been more friendly. That's a big piece to the puzzle.
