Absolutely terrible experience and devious for anyone with curly hair. First and foremost, they are devious scheming salon. They quoted me $180 for a cut and color then said nothing about number of bowls being used as a warning for price. Then at checkout charged me over $300. AND TO THIS DAY IS TRYING TO CHARGE ME ANOTHER $170! I was scammed and left so unhappy feeling hideous. Will never return. I really like the studio and the products that they use. However, I didn't really like the service. My stylist was 15 minutes late and didn't really apologize or say anything about it. I also felt very judged/shamed when she was asking about how often I get my hair done and how I take care of it. Just didn't seem very welcoming to me. Ari is the best! When I first came to her, my hair color had been botched. Over time, she had been able to undo the damage. I am so happy with my color and cut. She suggests great products to use and is current on styles. She really takes her time and wants to do a great job for her customer. I really enjoy the chill vibe of Sisu! Very relaxing! read more

My previous stylist Kaitlin was AMAZING and it was easy to write her leaving off as she moved to Colorado. My appointment for yesterday (Friday) at SISU was confirmed via text on Thursday at noon (well after the stylist was no longer available)- I didn't receive a call from the salon until almost 2pm which I couldnt answer due to a work meeting. No voicemail was left requesting a call back. I then received a text from the owner at 7:30 pm apologizing for the last minute cancellation and stating she could squeeze me in late Friday or Sunday. ...... I didn't respond as it is just bad business not to call and speak to your clients directly. I also did not want to schedule with someone I have heard struggles with extensions as she doesn't do them regularly. SISU only has 1 actual stylist now (the owner) and assistants that are making minimum wage while in training. From what I have observed in the salon Anna (the owner) frequently cancels and reschedules appointments (literally have heard the receptionist talking about it the last few times I have been in). 5 stylists have left within the last year. That screams that SISU is a toxic environment and while I know stylists in this industry often move on to other opportunities (ie. Booth rental), having your entire team leave is not normal. If anyone needs an amazing stylist who specializes in extensions (and blondes, even though I am not one), please let me know! I found an amazing one! read more

I want to update my review. Not about a service, but about an unfair business practice. I booked a hair appointment with Kaitlin for hair color that was long over due because of my crazy schedule and covid 19. I needed it done by a certain time. Kaitlin could not get to my hair until AFTER I needed it done. However, since I was never told about a cancellation policy of charging 50% of booked service should I cancel within certain unspoken guidelines, I booked telling Kaitlin that I was going to have to try and find someone before the appointment, but would give plenty of notice. I understand people needing to work and schedule appointments in order to earn the income. I honestly "get" it. But; after I found someone to color my hair before my event, I sent a text back to the same source that sent me the note for my appointment being made. I told Kaitlin that I was sorry, but could not make our appointment, but would be sure to use her again. Honestly, she did do a good job cutting my hair. I sent this reply text almost a month before my appointment was scheduled. I sent it as soon as I knew I wasn't going to show. I thought it must be a mistake when I got a reminder about my appointment with Kaitlin a day before the day we had set and I had cancelled in plenty of time. I called at 8:45am, as the time was set at 9am, to gently remind Kaitlin that I had long ago cancelled thru the texting service they use. The receptionist told me I would have to pay 50% of the appointment bill. WHAT?!?!?!?!? Even when I explained that "I had texted my apology, but I could not make my appointment...with plenty of advance notice (more than a month), they were still wanting me to pay. I said that is terrible to have a policy that is unclear as to how I would cancel and the fee if they should not accept my cancellation. I will not be back to that salon because of this. It is sad, because they have talented hairdressers. Justmake them tell you clearly how you are supposed to cancel your appointment, should something come up...and how much time before your set appointment you can do so without being charged. I was not made aware of how to do so...and thought texting back to the appointment number would do it. Bye SISU. Unfair business practices... read more

Anna has been cutting & coloring my hair a long, long time. She's a true artist and friend. I look forward to our time together, catching up on life while coming away feeling beautiful and refreshed. She listens to my wishes and also offers her creative insight. When it comes to color I let her do whatever she thinks looks best for me and the season we're in. Nails it ever time! I love making one less decision in my day. No one understands color like Anna. How she runs her business is amazing, carefully planning for each new twist. She cares about each person as well as our larger community. During this pandemic she has taken the situation seriously and wants every customer & employee to be safe, which I respect and appreciate. I highly recommend this salon, it is world class, right here in Lincoln, NE. We are lucky! read more

Really disappointing service, very unprofessional. Appointments canceled twice at the last minute. Ridiculously overpriced quotes. It became very clear that they were not interested in our business and created ways to push us out the door. I can only assume we did not fit the profile of clients to which they cater. So if you are not blonde and blue-eyed don't go to Sisu. read more

Best place in the state! The whole staff truly cares about what you want with your hair. I will not trust anybody else with my hair.
