I really can't explain the feeling that comes over you when you are welcomed into Six Brunton Place. Like any good hostess, Sue made us feel that she was honored to have us in her home. But there was something more to the experience here. It was like we were long lost family coming home for the very first time.
Paired with that kind of service, the excellent accommodations almost pale in comparison. They were, however, more than excellent. We stayed in the Courtyard Room, which overlooks the basement level courtyard. Though the smallest of the rooms, it was more than adequate, as we had a short stay and spent most of our time wandering the city. I think if we had been staying longer, we would have been pining for the Garden Room which has a private door into the garden our back. So many little details were put into the room, like heated floor in the bathroom.
Since it's a B&B, I suppose I should mention breakfast, which was lovely. The food was gourmet and more than plentiful.
The house is in a prime location, just a few blocks from a number of good restaurants and shops, and a quick hike away from Carlton Hill, Arthur's Seat, and the Royal Mile.
