So after a ton of aggravation, an unexpected night in a hotel and nearly an hour driving north when our final destination was south, we finally arrived to pick up our replacement car. We just want to get going so when we originally had a 7 seater and all they've got is a 4 seater, that's fine, let's go. Print out the paperwork and we're off.
Days later we look at the paperwork and realize that rather than honoring the original contract the guy in Bourges was charging us nearly double the original rate for a car that holds 3 less occupants!!
We call customer service and they say they'll honor the original rate.
We turn in the car and they charge the original rate for the first car, the exorbitant rate on the second and a $350 penalty for damage to the first car. Damage that they caused because they provided no information about the fuel that the stupid thing used!
They eventually committed to honoring the original contract and removed the damage penalty but their lack of coordination was astounding.
Can't wait to see the credit card statement. What do you think the chances are that they got it right? read more
