Nobody was there to receive it at the parking lot. I dropped the keys at the agency. A few days later, I received an email informing that the car needed a "special cleaning" ! This is of course absolutly faulse, there was nothing that the usual vaccuming wouldnt have fixed. I asked for pictures of this so terrible dirtyness, but of course, customer service disappeared on me. They did not forget to charge my account for (4 euros, which I am fighting with Amex. Crooks !

I originally booked a 2-day car Europcar rental through Auto Europe to be picked up at Lyon…read morePart-Dieu train station. Shortly thereafter I called Auto Europe customer service department to change it to a 3-day rental. When we went to the train station, the Europcar agent could not find our reservation until, after searching, she found that it had been changed to Lyon airport. She then told us that she could change the pick-up point back to the train station, but as there were no more cars in the same category as our booking she would have to charge us for an upgrade. At this point we had no choice, because we had to be at our destination by a certain time, so we agreed to the extra charge, which she told us would be 90 EUR (about $103). When we got the final bill we found that the Europcar agent had added even more charges, even though we had declined any additional services such as insurance etc. She also charged us in USD without even giving us this option, which I would have declined as I always use a US credit card with no foreign transaction fees. The total extra we were charged was 140.52 EUR, which was converted to 165.25 USD.

My experience with this rental company was awful. They did not have the car I initially requested…read moreand prepaid for in full, and the car I was forced to take due to no other availability did not have winter tires, and the tires that it did have were completely bald. When I explained to the employee that these were unsafe to drive through Switzerland in winter, he did not care in the slightest. Also, in no surprise, the car they told me I had to take was more expensive than the car I initially booked, which resulted in me incurring extra charges. I escalated this to customer service and upper management, and was continually passed off to new people over and over, and have still not received any resolution weeks later. Furthermore, when I asked to have my case escalated to someone who was able to assist, I received no response to my multiple follow ups. All in all, I do not recommend this company to anyone looking to rent a car. Their disregard for client service and client safety is deplorable, and they should be ashamed to claim otherwise.

Ce prélèvement est intervenu malgré une contestation écrite préalable de ma part, et sans validation spécifique du montant. Je n'avais pas été mise en mesure d'identifier clairement, au moment de la souscription, l'existence et le niveau de ces frais. Je tiens à préciser que l'empreinte bancaire a donc été utilisée pour effectuer ce débit, ce qui appelle, selon moi, une vigilance particulière de la part des clients. Par ailleurs, le service a été très dégradé sur la durée du contrat : plusieurs changements de véhicule imposés, avec une perte de temps professionnelle à chaque fois, un véhicule final inadapté à l'usage, et plus de 20 jours sans réponse à ma demande de restitution, avec une information tardive sur les frais. L'ensemble de ces éléments est documenté et fait actuellement l'objet de démarches formelles auprès de ma banque et du médiateur. Je recommande donc la plus grande prudence, notamment concernant l'utilisation de l'empreinte bancaire et la compréhension des conditions contractuelles.

Booked through Expedia.Walked in to pick up people carrier for family.Went through the motions all…read morethe way to pay .Don't take Revolut.Customer service guy smug cheeky and arrogant.Went to pay with my card couldnt as booking was under diff name.He walked away and left us there with the impression there was nothing could be done .So happy he left the transaction.Anither gentleman took over and sorted the entire thing in two minutes.A pleasure to deal with .The first guy should not have a job in a capacity that deals with non French speakers .Sorry for this language but Iam a business owner and if one of my employees ever treated a client in that way it would be they're last day.Everything else to do with the vehicle was 100% but next trip to Lyon my fourth this year will not involve the risk of having to deal with that person again bearing in mind on vehicle return he was the guy in the picture that walks in looking at the ground after being exposed!.

For any travelers used to reserving cars online or over the phone,…read moretheir system does not match inventory, which means if they told you they had a certain car either by phone or online, they may or may not have it on the spot. We had our hotel call at 1pm to reserve, and Avis responded with a reservation number for a Mercedes for a 4 day rental. When we arrived at our time to pick up at 2pm, the lady at the rental counter said the car was never available. They proceeded to explain that the car we reserved got in an accident and was sent to repair that morning. Huh? What about our confirmation given at 1pm? And they then discovered they had NO auto-shift available at the station. They proposed to bring in the only auto they had in the city from another station (station that was way closer to our hotel) to our location, and promised to do so within 30 minutes. The car didn't arrive for another two hours while we waited at a nearby Starbucks. When it eventually did arrive, they tried to charge us 700EUROs a day for it, what are we insane? Terrible service. Unapologetic. Unreliable. Worst rental experience.
