We've…read morebeen bopping to Cumberland Golf Course for years and I remember coming here prior to getting into golf. In the past, we would sit outside on the deck to admire the land and dine at the (former) restaurant. Word on the block is that a new restaurant is in the works as of July 2025 which is exciting! Flash forward to present day, I am finally into golf and got to play 18-holes. On one of the holes we had a deer visit us which was so majestical! I adore the fresh greenery and wilderness here. Note: the back 9 is very difficult. Maybe plan for some balls to go in the water? My grandpa turned 103 this year and we celebrated by him making it through about 5-holes. Go, grandpa!! In addition, we also celebrated his 100th here a few years back outside with food catered in from the golf course. My family adores the close proximity to our cabin, the friendly staff, clean facilities and the great prices. I look forward to many more visits. Thank you!!

I will never recommend this place to anyone. Below is the Polaris Review I wrote the day after we returned the machine. I paid $780 for a two day rental and had to pay an additional $150 for "cleaning" services! I would've rather paid $1000 for the two day rental so I wouldn't have had to put up with the owners ridiculous customer service. When I returned the machine, I was treated with disrespect, talked down to, belittled and embarrassed in front of my 16yr old daughter who was visiting from Alabama during her summer vacation. It was the most embarrassing experience I have ever went through with my daughter. Using scare tactics and sending me text messages about contract information after I returned the machine it is not something anyone would enjoy. My daughter and I enjoyed our two day rental and it was completely ruined when we returned the machine. We had a blast riding the ATV Washburn County trails. We used the machine properly and safely the entire weekend and had no issues. We are not pavement pounders and used this machine for what it was built for. During the two days we had the machine we rode over 160 miles of backcountry ATV trails. Considering it's been raining for the past three months in northern Wisconsin, the trails were not dry or dusty. Every corner was full of water and ever low spot had some mud in it. If you rent these machines, you should know what the trails look like, and how they constantly change due to weather conditions. During our Saturday ride, it poured down rain three separate times. We didn't stop, we had a blast, we got soaking wet, and enjoyed spending time together in this machine. The owner of this establishment treated us with such disrespect and arrogance when we returned it and ruined our entire weekend. I could not believe the bullish and entitlement which came out of the owners mouth! The way my daughter and I were treated when we dropped the machine off was totally unacceptable. The first thing out of his mouth when I dropped the machine off on Sunday was, "you're the only person who doesn't know where to park", then he proceeded to say "this was the dirtiest machine he had ever seen". All the owner did was complain and talk about all the things he could do and check to see how we ruined the machine and how Polaris backs him with millions of dollars so there's nothing we can do about it. He never once asked us if we enjoyed our time, if anything went wrong or if we had fun. It was apparent to me the owner was enjoying making me feel like crap and belittling me in front of my daughter. I did not rent a Polaris XP1000 2-seater to drive around on the pavement. My daughter and I could've rode around in my truck if that's what we wanted to do. We rented this machine for two days so we could have fun and experience what the trails in northern Wisconsin had to offer. In two days we put on over 160 miles. As I mentioned, it had rained for the past two months in northern Wisconsin. The trails were full of water, mud, but not a speck of dust. If you ride these machines enough, you know how horrible it can be with severely dusty trails. My daughter always wore her helmet and we always wore our seatbelts. I have lived in Northern Wisconsin for most of my life and was raised in Washburn County. I know how to use this equipment and I'm an experienced driver. At the end of the day, my daughter loved every moment, was able to see some wonderful sights, and experience what I set out to accomplish on her summer vacation. The owner of this establishment ruined our entire weekend when we returned the machine and I'll never recommend this business to anyone.

Decided to do a little road trip for explore this destination and so glad we did. They have a very…read moregreat information center with hands on experiences for kids. You do need your state park sticker or at least a day sticker to enjoy this otherwise it is free. Very affordable way to spend the day and take in nature. We decided to take a glorious walk on the trails. We encountered some wildlife and I almost had a heart attack when after navigating a big ass hill almost stepped on a garter snake when i was trying to cool down --that little sucker was slithering among the leaves. YIKES!!! It is a mostly wooded dirt trail that is surrounded by many smaller bodies of water on both sides. So cool....the sun shines down between the taller trees and you can hear nothing but the wind, the birds, and some bullfrogs. LOVED IT!

IT'S IN THE CHIPPEWA MORAINE STATE RECREATION AREA ABOUT 2 MILES EAST OF THE INTERSECTION OF HWY M AND HWY 40. The Chippewa Moraine Ice Age Unit, aka Chippewa Moraine State Recreation Area, has an excellent interpretive center on a beautiful hillside. My wife and I walked one of the trails on a beautiful, crisp fall day in September. Some of the trees have started to change. There are 3 trails that start on the north side of the David R. Obey Ice Age Interpretive Center. Rolling terrain, the breeze rustling the tree leaves, splashes of sun on the forest floor, little kettle lakes: awesome northern forest beauty! Now a little history lesson. From what I know the trail started in the mid 1900's thanks to a guy named Zillmer. A variety of people pursued the idea: they are called the Ice Age Trail Alliance. There is now over a 1000 miles of trail in Wisconsin. Kudos to them! The Interpretive Center is extremely well done. It has quite a bit of hands on things to do that would be great for elementary school kids. (This includes holding a garter snake.) Junior high and high school kids who enjoy geology and animals would like it too. The interp. center is a couple of miles east of the intersection of Highways 40 and M near New Auburn. The staff member on duty was Jeanette: knowledgeable, friendly and helpful Free; no trail fees. It's so beautiful it deserved a donation.

The course is an absolute dog track. Fairways are fine, greens are fine, but ALL tee boxes need to be leveled (that annoys the hell out of me), and if you miss the fairway, the rough is like concrete. Clearly they don't have water on the rough because it gives hard pan a whole new meaning. I lost 3 golf balls by missing the fairway by 8 feet and watching my ball bounce as if it hit the parking lot. The other thing that irked me is that my son and I played 9 holes in an hour and 40 minutes - that's not slow. Meanwhile, we had a group up our ass the entire round. The foursome in front of us wouldn't let us through, so it was frustrating to be trapped in that situation, especially with a junior golfer along - he doesn't need the added pressure of being rushed all day. Ultimately, we're not likely to go back.

The brand new Auggie Land Dog Park in Chetek is great! It has lots of places for your dogs to run…read moreand agility courses. It also has plenty of shelter and picnic tables for owners to relax while waiting for their dogs to burn some energy. Come try it out! It's on County M right near the Funny Farm.

Great facility, affordable prices, friendly staff…read more Not only is the facility roomy, it also has lots of amenities including a cardio room, free weights, peg machines, racket ball court, powerlifting equipment, showers, and a guys and girls sauna. I was definitely impressed by the amount of equipment available. It's also nice that members have 24hour access to the gym. The staff is also extremely helpful and friendly, which is definitely great to have, especially if you're new to working out at a gym. Overall: would definitely recommend, weather your looking for a gym to get a membership at, or just in town visiting and want a clean, high quality place to workout.
