A single power point in the room. The bathroom is a shower stall with no sink, table or power. I'm currently staying in somewhere 10x nicer for a lower price.

Positive things -It is in a convenient location close to the main bus stop. -It is not too expensive, considering it is the middle of Chamonix. -The male owner is super friendly and set up a nice breakfast in the morning. Negative things -When we checked in, the price was higher then what our booking said. This was a "bedding fee." -We emailed them ahead of time to ask about bag storage during our 10-day hike. The told us 1.5 Euro per night to store a bag. When we got there, they told us 2.5 Euro. We had no choice but to pay because we had been counting on this place. -When we were involuntarily bumped off our international flight, I immediately cancelled the reservation and emailed them to let them know we wouldn't make it. I was trying to be courteous to this business and give them as much notice as possible to allow them to resell our spots. As a thanks, I got my credit card charged USD$82 and no response to my email. The UDS$82 was the full price of two beds and the surprise bedding fee. -The female owner is kind of rude. When we arrived after our delayed international red eye and were looking to drop our bags and get started on the hike we were greeted by condescending lectures about how hard it is for them to fill cancelled beds and store gear. Seriously, I am not sure what part of "involuntary" in "involuntarily bumped" indicated that we missed a reservation out of immature flakiness. Informational things. -The owners are British and thus English is their native language. We mostly stayed here because it would include bag storage. In the end we ended up paying over USD$200 and got one night for two people plus 10 days bag storage. If I return to Chamonix, we will stay at Camping Bellevue and organize our stuff so that we don't need to store a bag while we are hiking.

AMAZING HOSTEL. I…read morestayed at this hotel for two nights, then one night at Geneva Hostel, then back here for my last night. It was great because they were both very close to each other, making the move quick and easy. The location is relatively close to many of the big shopping districts and tourist sites, and is very close to the Gare Cornavin station, which made it very easy to get to and from the airport. My first two nights, I stayed in a double bed private room, and my last night, I stayed in a three people dorm. All rooms come with lockers and a sink, and I loved that the outlet was right above your bed, and with USB charger ports. The receptionist, Vivian (Vivienne? Vivien?) was so so sweet and made my check in and check out process both times very easy. He remembered me when I checked in for my second time, which was very sweet. You're provided with sheets and a towel, and locks for lockers are provided for a deposit that you get back after returning it. There's also individual refrigerator lockers that you can borrow for another deposit, if you don't want to use the communal fridge. Everything about the hostel was great - I would highly recommend it to anyone staying in Geneva!

Both times I…read morestayed in a three-bed, female-only dorm with a shared bathroom for half of the floor (32 CHF per night). The rooms are small, but the facilities are quite nice other than that. There are sinks and mirrors in the rooms and two showers per half-floor, but I never had a wait and the water temperature is good (which is a rarity in hostels). For a 10 Euro deposit, they provide refrigerator lockers, which is quite a lifesaver in Geneva where food will cost you your arm. Seriously, use the fridge and get all your food at Manor or Lidl! Check out is at 10am, but they provide lockers downstairs so that you can store your stuff and still make use of the day. They will even let you hang out in the common room after you've checked out! Things to beware: The key cards snap in half at the slightest touch. It happened to me TWICE. The first time the guy at the front desk charged me 5 CHF, but the second time the big guy in charge was at the desk and seemed a big angry that I had been charged the first time. So if they charge you, wait and talk to someone else! Only other downside: No complementary breakfast :-( But, again, the fridge lockers makes this AOK.

The walkway to the hostel was under construction, which wasn't communicated in advance. Getting to and from town was inconvenient. There's no bus or shuttle service, so we had to walk uphill with luggage or pay for a taxi, which wasn't ideal. Check-out was another hassle. We couldn't immediately find one of the key cards, and staff came to the room to check on us since we hadn't checked out and it was almost time. We had everything out and all sheets ready to bring down. While I understand the policy, it made the checkout process feel uncomfortable and more stressful than necessary. For a large hostel, having only one small washer and one dryer was disappointing. They were frequently in use, making laundry difficult to plan. The views of the top of the Matterhorn and the entire town are great. Breakfast was filling. Packed lunch was supposed to have been included as what I remembered when I booked but there wasn't any unless we pay extra. We had to be creative using just the microwave and hot water since there's no stove or oven that can be used by guests. The staff were generally polite and the rooms were clean, but between the construction, transportation issues, limited laundry facilities, and checkout stress, the experience felt pretty average. It may be a better option when there's no ongoing renovations or construction work.

The room was a little hot (in October) so I would maybe suggest bringing a little fan. Located very close to the lake in a seemingly quiet, safe neighborhood only a few miles from the airport. The staircase leading up to the rooms, the kitchen, and the reception area were all beautiful. The rooms were also spacious. 4. Easy & friendly reception, open at all hours 5. FREE BREAKFAST. And the breakfast wasn't just dry bread and jam like other places I've been to. There's drinks (coffee, hot chocolate, tea, orange juice, apple juice, milk), cereal, yogurt, muesli, bread with cheese, butter, and jam. 6. secure, with big lockers in the room for each person that open with your key. 7. wifi in the room and throughout the building The only thing I didn't like about this hostel was the showers - it was the kind where the button has to be pressed for the water to come out, which was a hassle and not the most user-friendly. They also provide you with a free city transportation card for your stay at the hostel, which is good for the trains, busses, trams, and boats.
