Five star service. The technician came to my lobby where I was staying. He brought extra boots. All of the equipment was new / slightly used. He offered to meet at the bottom of a ski lift if something was damaged or did not fit correctly. I needed to alter my days skiing . I contacted Ski Butler and for no extra cost changed my dates. We really loved the communication ahead of our trip! The convenience of them coming to our condo was another plus. But the first day both I, and another from our party told them something wAs not right about our boots. They said they were supposed to fit like that so as a first time skier, they believed it. Turns out the bruising was very, very severe. So much so that we lost a ski day for one of us and it hampered his entire experience. I would think that there would have been an apology to him, or something. There was nothing. I will say that after they re-fit my boots they were perfect. read more

The guys were great on setting up our snowboards. I like the concept of delivery and pickup of snowboard/boots & bindings. We stayed at Harris which is walking distance to heavenly. The only reason why we found this place was because heavenly and the snow shop accords from the gondola was out. Good thing I did, the prices are reasonable and the white glove treatment for delivering and picking up did the trick. Thangs guys!!! read more

This service is one of the best things we discovered in Tahoe. They are the easiest thing about skiing so far Haha! Not only will they come to your hotel room/Airbnb (we were at the Hard ROck), but the two gentlemen that helped us were amazing during our March trip. Super helpful and knowledgable about the products they were reppin. The skis and snowboard we rented worked perfectly, with a great fit and good flexibility. I think our favorite part was that the colors were very vibrant, so we could find them easily on the slopes. Oh, also we voted and our favorite park was pick up. At the end of our last day, this kind man in a beanie just comes, meets us at the lift, grabs our gear and says "Have a good day"! LOL! We were almost worried we had been kindly robbed, it was just way too easy. If you want a stress free rental service, do yourself a favor and go with Ski Butlers. read more

EDIT: IM SORRY FOR THE LONG REVIEW BUT DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND JUST GO SOMEWHERE ELSE I saw good reviews from tripadvisor.com for ski butlers in lake tahoe. The reviews were that they were 1)cheaper, 2)convenient and... what else could you ask for?! So I called made the appointment and found out that it was cheaper bc it was a 2 day ski/board rental minimum. Well I only needed the ski's one night. So even though it was a 2 day minimum rental I made a reservation anyway. Little did I know that earlier I was reminded that there was a sport chalet down the street from me which rented out skis for a cheaper price. So I called them back within 30 minutes and cancelled my reservation...NOTING - I even asked the store representative if they had a cancellation number or email. The rep explained that there was no number/notification/email/etc. So I trusted this response and went on with my life. So make my way up to S. Tahoe for skiing and had my skis rented from sport chalet. When that evening a Ski Butler employee Walt calls me and says he is waiting outside in my hotel parking lot and has been for the past 1/2 hr. So I tell him its a misunderstanding, I already cancelled - and he goes his part. So I get a call from the store and say that they never received a cancellation call and its store policy that they charge me one night. I was calm with them at first bc I understand that being mad and yelling gets nothing done, especially as they already have my credit card, address info, etc. I then waited an hour and a half for a call from the store manager who tells me the same thing. I was told that my credit card would not be charged until this resolves and an agreement is made with the manager. I was charged prior to the manager even called me. (I get a text/email from my bank when there are purchases made.) POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. They are terrible at customer service, they thought I was lying to them, and attempted to bribe me with 50% off the next time I rent from them (noting they already charged me for the day I didnt use their skis) Theres more to the story too but this is already a long post: Some of the other parts are that they email out the reservation confirmation (I never received one bc they got my email address incorrect - I am very clear on the phone (Im in the US Air Force and unclear communication can mean lives...they got my credit card info correct. Why couldnt they get my email address correct? They also accused me of lying about cancelling bc i didnt know who I cancelled with - the apt was made at least a week and a half ago and I told them that I couldnt remember. That didnt matter to them. And the worst part (i know you already read) but they charged my credit card even before resolving the issues or making any agreement. SUMMARY: PLEASE GO SOMEWHERE ELSE THAN THE SOUTH LAKE TAHOE FRANCHISE - THIS WAS A NIGHTMARE (I am sure they are excellent if all things go smoothly, but in this case it didnt - this shows their true colors) PS: I research multiple hours on best prices, convenience, and quality of customer service/product quality on most if not all of my purchases - even shower curtains (hehe - they mold easy and wanted one that didnt). Ski Butlers is a really outstanding service - save your time and money, don't rental from resorts and rent with Ski Butlers instead. We had a group of around 20 people and Ski Butlers was able to accommodate all of us. They brought all the equipment to our cabin, sized everyone up and picked all the equipment back up after our last day on the slopes. Some of the people in our group messed up their reservation by booking skis instead of snowboards, but Seamus and John were super chill about it. Brought the skis back to the shop, came back with some boards and we were good to go. I highly recommend Ski Butlers and will definitely use them again for future trips. read more

We came up to Tahoe with inadequate planning, but they were able to fit us in. John came to the cabin where we were staying ( not the easiest place to find!); he brought an extra pair of boots to ensure I had a good fit; and did the fitting efficiently and quickly. I can tell you from personal experience that these guys are AWESOME! My wife and I have been to South Lake Tahoe before (specifically Heavenly), and we've rented from the folks at the bottom of the Gondola, which was fine....but Scott, Benny, and Altheia at SkiButlers were really great! Not only did they delivery our gear to our room when we wanted it (which felt like white-glove service), but even after i broke my own ski boot on the slopes...I called them, and they were Johnny on the spot within an hour ON THE MOUNTAIN with a complimentary pair of ski boots just so that I could finish out my day. Yes, rentskis.com, or Heavenly Ski Rentals are right there at the bottom of the Gondola, but they do not match the SERVICE that the guys at SkiButler offer. Ski Butler was by far the best and easiest ski rental service I've ever used. Not only did they deliver skis and boots to our house, but if they'll even come to slope and switch things out if you're not happy. For example, my sister decided her boots were too big, we met Ski Butlers at the gondola 30 minutes later and they had a few new pairs waiting fro her to try. That is amazing! I was EXTREMELY happy with the Ski Butlers while at South Lake Tahoe. I was there for a bachelor party weekend, and before the scheduled time for them to come to my room at one of the casinos and deliver the skis, I happened to have a few too many and I missed the delivery time. As soon as I realized what had happened (an hour later) I immediately called them back (I missed two phone calls and them knocking at my door). They were VERY accommodating, helpful, and friendly. They delivered the skis quickly. The skis were top notch. I got the cheapest "Sport" package, and the skis were definitely much better quality than other places when you get the base package. The boots were nice, not the nicest I've gotten, but very comfortable and seemed new. (that happens to me often though as I have pretty large feet) The price was a bit higher than other places, but when you get one of their many discounts it comes out to a very minimal difference, and I thought it was worth it. I originally booked the skis for two days of skiing, but I later realized I wouldn't make my plane if I skied a second day, so I changed my reservation at the end of the first day, and the Ski Butlers only charged me for one day, and they came over and picked up the skis quickly and without any fuss. Will have to disagree with the two previous reviews. Our experience with Ski Butlers in S. Lake Tahoe was outstanding. Their representative came to our condo with several pair of skis for my wife and spent a fair amount of time seeing that she was in the right ski. He was friendly and professional. Their rates were no more than renting on the mountain or in a shop in town. At the end of our stay they picked up the skis in a timely manner and were again very friendly and professional. We will certainly use them again when in S. Lake Tahoe. read more

We had a group of 6 visit S Lake Tahoe for NYE. The staff and service we received at Ski Butlers was great. The prices were more than reasonable, our equipment worked for all of us very well and the customer service was phenomenal. we found that the holiday weekend was very busy, and many places were very understaffed. If Ski Butlers were understaffed we certainly never saw it. They were prompt in delivering and picking up all our equipment. This was the second time using Ski Butlers in So. Tahoe. We called at 4 pm on a Friday they brought over all of the gear and had our party fitted by 7 pm. The customer service was second to none and they went above and beyond our expectations. What a fantastic service they provide. I'm shocked at the low star rating for Ski Butlers, because when we were up in S. Tahoe last month we used them to rent our skis and they were nothing but professional and courteous. We just spent five days in South Lake Tahoe and had Ski Butlers meet us the morning of the second day to set up all eleven of us, including five children. They were awesome. They were organized, quick, and knowledgable. The two person crew worked quikly to get us all set up with skis and snowboards. When we turned in the gear on the last day we told them that we did not go to the slopes on two days because we went sledding instead. They did not charge us for those days. One of the five years olds was not ready for skiing and only used them once. Again, they charged us only the one day for him. We had a fantastic experience with Ski Butlers. We used them last year and had a similar experience. I recommend them to anyone who wants a quick, convenient, and inexpensive way to avoid long lines at a shop or the slopes. The crew is young, happy, and eager to please. We will definitely call Ski Butlers next time we are in town. read more

While we didn't use the drop-off service, we did use the pick-up service and everything went smoothly. Thankfully we didn't need to take advantage but Ski Butlers will bring you new equipment right on the slopes if it isn't working out. I was sad to see such negative reviews about ski butlers. We decided to use Ski Butlers on our recent trip to S Lake Tahoe. Scott was extremely professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. He helped answer a ton of questions that my friends and I had. He had a great sense of humor and helped us out big time. Also, gave a us a surprise upgrade and a discount! Prices were totally reasonable and you can't beat the convienence. Why make the annoying trip to a shop, wait in line, have to go back and return your gear.. etc etc ... when you can have someone come right to your house or hotel ! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED !!! read more

I disagree with the previous review. We just got back from skiing and snowboarding, and, i must say, the Ski Butlers were very professional. They were quite punctual and arrived in a cordial manner. They quickly measured us (My wife and two kids) and had us trying on equipment within 5 minutes. It really is a great service. The snowboards were excellent quality and the skis were too. They were very thurough and made sure that our boots fit comfortably (which for skiers is imperative because those things can kill your feet!). I was, also, very impressed when i called them and told them that i left my 100 dollar shoe inserts in my rented boots, they were very understanding and within 30 minutes returned them to me from their main store 20 minutes away. Overall, I think the service was superb and is very cool because it really is a drag to have to wake up extra early to wait in a line to be fitted for boots, when you can just have people come right to your room and deliver them to you. Just got back from South Lake Tahoe. We once again used the Ski Butlers service and as always it was outstanding! We have used Ski Butlers for the last 6 years on all of our Tahoe trips and they have never let us down. They always show up prepared on time and at the agreed time with multiple sizes just in case a ski, board, boot or helmet doesn't quite fit right. They are very polite and bend over backwards to make sure you are happy before they leave. They will drop off to your room and pick up right from there with just a phone call. The process is easy to rent, you can either call the office or fill out the online form with sizes, info, etc and they will call you once they see the order to confirm the appointment.
