I used to come here almost every couple weeks a long while ago. It's been years since I went there with such regularity. I even started going to Rhonda when she was located on Rochester, near 13 mile, before moving to Birmingham. Rhonda and her team of aestheticians are out of this world good. I used to get my dermabrasion with a diamond head, it would take off so much dead skin. I think they got rid of the diamond and replaced it with a paddle. It's just as effective, maybe not resulting in as much visual skin slough. I have had dermal planing, skin chemical peels here as well and I used to buy my Latisse lash serum from here. Rhonda was always amazing and so delicate, but precise and doing extractions if needed. My skin was always glowing after procedure here. They are skin magicians here. I don't come as often, since I bought my own dermabrasion machine for the house. They do have some gifts, like SPF 50 hats and other fashionable items. I bought a couple sun hats here over the years. If you have any skin issues, this is the place to go to. You'll be in great hands and soon enough and great skin. ;) read more

This place is wonderful. I always go for the acne shot. Avoid Diane if possible. She does not listen. She does what she wants to do and all around her energy is not good. I told her and showed her the bumps to inject and she tells me she won't inject medicine in one bump she'll just stick it with a needle because it's at a head. It was not. And I still have the bump currently as I'm writing this. Go here just don't book with her. Book with the other two. This was a last resort appointment so I kind of knew what to expect with Diane servicing me. She had serviced me previously and that's when I figured out to avoid her availabilitlies. I have been going to Skin Boutique for years now and usually love the nurses (especially Kristie and Kelly) however, my last experience there was AWFUL. I had Diane as my injector and she was the rudest nurse I have ever experienced in my life. Going into appointments like these are sometimes nerve racking and vulnerable. it's important to have a nurse who listens to you and makes you feel comfortable. I received the complete opposite from Diane. Highly considering switching med spas due to this experience. Seeing Lynn at the Skin Boutique was literally life-changing. I have very fine blonde hairs making up my eyebrows, as well as my lashes. In fact, my friends tease me, telling me I resemble an albino. My eyebrow routine consisted of a brow gel-liner, shadow and brow pencil. Essentially, I had to "recreate" the staples of a facial structure. I rarely left the house without brow makeup and on the rare occasion that I did, I would run into acquaintances that didn't even recognize me. For years I considered something permanent, such as permanent makeup or tattoos, but after reading countless reviews and seeking professional advice (I work in the corporate beauty industry), I decided I would wait and continue looking into alternative options. Insert the miracle of microblading here. After reading about microblading in publications such as ELLE and Marie Claire, I knew this was an option I needed to try. Lynn was extremely cognizant of my hesitation towards allowing someone else to create my brows. She listened in great detail to how I liked my brows shaped, what color I used and exactly where I preferred my arch. She even had me bring in my products and apply them so she could see my personal technique. If you didn't know she had an artistic background prior to your appointment, you would be nothing but certain after leaving your first appointment (there are two involved: the first for the consultation & application, and the second as a touch-up/fine-tuning appointment). I couldn't have been more pleased with Lynn's work. I no longer have to worry about losing an eyebrow on someone's cheek as a result of a tight hug, sweating them off my face, or disappearing with a shower or dip in the pool. Talk about relief to a life-long insecurity. Not only do I think less about how they look, or if they are still there, but I also save time during my daily beauty routine. WORTH EVERY PENNY. Update: September Went in today to to see Kelly again she noticed a huge (cyst )pimple on my jaw and suggested acne injection. It is now 6 hours later and it has gone down tremendously. She even hit up some other spots. I'm so glad she mentioned it cause I was going to go to the dermatologist and end up paying more. The whole face was only $10... I've been here three times. I was introduced through the recommendation of a friend. Initially I had Dysport injections. She did a nice job with placement but the results were not nearly as effective as Botox and did not last long. After my second child, I came back for Botox. The first time I had to come back for my follow up appointment as my face was uneven and I don't think it lasted more than 3 months. I was used to getting 4-6 months at my prior place. The second time she got the placement spot on... great lift of the eyebrows, good balance, not overly done. Unfortunately, my Botox only lasted 1 month, Jan 20 injections, on Feb 21 I can move my entire forehead and deep lines have returned. I'm extremely disappointed. They must be diluting the mix, either knowingly, or because they don't know how to properly mix it. I won't be back. read more

I was referred to Kelly by a friend. This was my first time having fillers (and dysport which I had tried years ago) and was quite nervous. Kelly explained everything and made sure my expectations were realistic and help me figure out exactly what was needed and what was not. I wasn't looking to have much done I just wanted a tweak. Love this place, I have been going for over a year now and every experience has been great. The ladies at the front desk are always nice and pleasant. I have seen different estheticians and they have all been very kind, knowledgeable, and non judgmental. One thing i love about this spa that is better than most is that they don't push products down your throat for you to buy, if you go for botox then thats what you will get, they won't try to sell you anything else unless you ask for it. I've been going there for about two months now and I've had the best best experience. The receptionists are marvelous, always greeting you with a smile and very helpful. I drive 40 minutes just too see them at least once every two weeks or so. My injectionsist Kelly treated me like gold and the receptionist Connie treated me like dirt So it's so hard to judge my first visit here. I read about many places before choosing to come here. I read so many people say what a great staff was here. When I arrived there were 2 receptionists. The one who I spoke with was Connie. She offered me water and gave me forms to fill out. As I was filling out the forms my injectionist Kelly came out to talk to the receptionists about some prior business that they had. When Kelly walked away Connie says"Shocker" to the other receptionist and starts whispering. I thought how catty and unprofessional! As s a customer shouldn't be hearing this gossip. Then Kelly came out for me and she was so extremely nice, educated , professional and warm. The room was clean and she gave me a fantastic experience. We talked together about how would be best to do my injections and how we could use the incentives that I received from the different medical companies. When I went back to the front desk to pay Connie there was some confusion about my incentives showing up in the computer because of a misspelled email. This is were she started talking rudely to me and making me feel belittled and embarrassed. Her bad treatment went on until the technical things got worked out. She then was dismissing me when I told her that I did a lot of research before I decided to choose them and I heard so much about the great customer service but I really felt that she talked to me very snarky. That is when she told me "THEN HAVE YOUR COUPONS READY!" To that I said I also heard what you were saying about Kelly earlier when you said "shocker etc." She said "that wasn't about her". I started coming here about 6 months ago for my acne prone skin. I am satisfied every time! I go to Lisa about once a month and she does a great job. She takes her time and knows exactly what I need. If I do happen to have breakouts after, I just call and the staff is SO flexible and finds a way to fit me in for an acne shot. (Both Rhonda and Dawn are so nice!) I called yesterday because I had such a terrible acne cyst that wouldn't go away but I had to work until 6. Cindy (one of the receptionists) told me I could come in after work at 6:30, even though they were supposed to close at 6. WOW. This med spa is great for Microblading. Saw Dawn and I really appreciate her "natural" approach to the eyebrows. She outlines your natural brow and ensures you approve before she goes on. Saving myself so much time now not having to touch eyebrows in the morning. I did have to go in 3 times (versus 2) though because they needed a little fixing up. Good news was the area to fix was extremely small and Dawn was super nice about it. Overall, very glad I came here and love my eyebrows. read more

When i started coming here 5 years ago my skin was a wreck. Nothing i did worked, i tried at home peels, a ton of different skin care lines, literally everything. I started out with a ViPeel and it was an intense beginning, but i saw results within the first two weeks. My journey was far from over however, as i suffered from hormonal acne and rosacea along with some hyperpigmentation to boot. I did the BBL treatment and it immediately made a difference. After doing about 5-6 treatments of the BBL paired with a regular dermasound appointment every 4 weeks i have finally felt comfortable in my own skin. Both Rhonda and Dawn have been the light of my life! Seriously. I cannot rave about this place any more. I get compliments daily on how nice my skin looks, it's been YEARS since I've had anyone ever mention it. The products are amazing as well. I personally love it when a friend complains about a spot coming up and i give them a pump of the Fulvic Elixir and get to hear them freak out when they see how well it works. One of my friends referred me to Skin Boutique after she had been seen for several of their dermabrasion treatments. Her skin looked amazing and I was excited to try it myself. I'm sorry to say I will not be returning. I have been to several medical spas in the area and this one did not have to same aesthetic or personal feel you expect a spa to have. Upon walking in for my appointment, the front desk girl was texting on her phone and had her lunch laid out all on the desk. For me, this is not the kind of cleanly or friendly experience you would expect at a spa. She did offer me something to drink so that was pleasant. After filling out my paperwork I was promptly seen by my aesthetician who was extremely friendly and accommodating. When I walked into the room I was quite taken back as to how cluttered, dusty, and unkept the product bottles and overall appearance of the room were. I was a bit hesitant to trust the sanitary state of the treatment, but out of politeness and my friends good review, I did not speak up. During my treatment I could hear other people talking and walking up and down the hall which made it hard to relax. My treatment was about an hour long and I was walked through the entire process. The table was comfortable and I was tucked under a soft blanket. When I was checking out there was a gentleman in casual attire who introduced himself as the owner and openly engaged in some conversation about the establishment and about him and his wife's (he explained she is one of the nurses there) personal life. Again, for me it was a bit unsettling to be approached by someone who did not feel like a professional of the business and forced into personal conversation. Skin Boutique felt like a very "mom-and-pop" type of spa with a very casual and cheap experience. When I go to a spa I want to feel relaxed and non-pressured. My experience was not 100% awful, I left feeling refreshed and my skin felt great, but for me the lack of a true spa experience (especially for the price of the treatment) is enough for me to give them 2 stars and give my opinion that there are far better spas in the area with the same services. read more

I went to the Skin Boutique before my wedding to have my arms waxed. Let me foreshadow by saying I have been getting waxed for over a decade, but this was my first trip to the Skin Boutique. I was referred by an acquaintance, so I set my appointment a week before my wedding. The horror started when the waxing began, within minutes I started to break out in large welts that itched and burned all over my arm. I started the panic and the lady waxing me kept telling to calm down and that I was fine. IT WAS NOT FINE! After enough panic she went and called the owner in. They look at my arms and kept saying how this was a weird reaction they had never seen before. I was clearly having an allergic reaction, but both woman kept telling me it was because I was in the sun.... this is funny to me because I as in the sun over a week before the wax and again I had NEVER had this happen before when had a been waxed. As a matter of fact I had my legs and armpits waxed at another place 2 weeks before and this didn't happen. They switched the waxes to a different kind and I had the same reaction. I am guessing because they were both soy based. When I left I was covered in pumps all over my arms and was boarder line tears. There was no apology and they still made me pay, even though half the hair was still on my arms. They told me to call the next day to check in so I did, but they were closed! I finally came up on Saturday when they were open because my arms still looked awful and I was freaking out with my wedding was a week away. Still no apology from the owner and she was still trying to blame it on me saying I had "compromised skin". She gave me some toner which did nothing. I saw a dermatologist and things got a little better before the wedding, but needless to say my arms will have to photoshopped in pictures. I was supposed to go back for a facial closer to my wedding date, but cancelled. I would never trust me them touching my skin again. A simple apology or a follow up with me after the fact would have gone a long way. read more

I have had acne all of my life and always desired to have smooth, beautiful skin so that I could go without makeup. After just one BBL Forever Young treatment, the difference was amazing. And this is for real, my before and after photos can't be denied. Let me tell you, there is no comparison, the service was more complete, relaxing and the price was better too. I tried Skin Boutique about 10 days ago for Botox and it was the most painful experience I've ever had The aesthetician kept me waiting over 20 minutes because the appointment before me was an old friend and they used up her appointment time for gabbing so I was shuffled into a different room while the "friend" waited in the aesthetician's regular procedure room. She started out apologizing for the needles, saying they weren't her regular needles as she was using someone else's room. If she knew the needles were bad (she orders her own needles apparently), why wouldn't she have filled her syringes and not these horrible ones? It was like the needle wasn't sharp enough to pierce the skin and she had to really force it in and every single poke was excruciating. I also didn't want my forehead done because it basically eliminates any lift you would normally get from doing the crow's feet and eyebrow area. She insisted saying they were deep lines and she wasn't using much there and it would not interfere with the eye lifting effect. It did and more the fool was I to agree to it. I agree with Missy D's review that it's like a mom and pop store and I would never go back, even if they offered services for free. read more
