We had a pretty early wedding (at 11am) and needed to get 8 of us through hair and makeup so we had to find a place that would start at 7am! Some sleuthing led us to Hair Etc (another option was Transfomations but they were a bit out of our price range) and we're so happy with the service we received. In my bridal party we had a number of girls waiver on the amount of services they wanted (mostly wanting to add makeup/upgrade to updos) and Bridget was wonderful about working with me to make sure we had enough stylists there to accommodate everyone. Bridget was responsible for both my updo and my sister's updo as my maid of honor. There were both awesome curly updos just as we requested and we received many compliments throughout the day! They also withstood hours of dancing at the reception (and when I say dancing this includes lots of rocking to Springsteen). It may have taken 40 minutes to take my hair our, but it was totally worth it for a hairdo that could withstand over 12 hours of wedding festivities. In general my bridal party tends not to wear a lot of makeup, so we did need to request a more natural look for some of the bridesmaids and myself (the default was to a more heavily defined eye), but they were good at encouraging us to go a little further with the makeup (with the help of our photographer) and I was really happy with the results! They really let us take over the salon that morning, even setting up a table for us to have coffee and scones laid out for breakfast. Towards the end of our primping there were a few other customers, so it wasn't fully private, but they did make sure to have us completely done and out of there by 10am to head up to the chapel. I would definitely recommend Hair Etc to any bride in the Ithaca area looking for affordable quality service!

Very affordable, sweet, and experienced! I will definitely go see her again. My hour massage was actually an hour (actually she went over and it was 65 minutes), vs the normal 50 minutes, and I got there early and she soaked my feet for free. It was $60 before tip. Also, they indicated that I was 30 days overdue on a bill, but after calling insurance, Insurance said that Ageless never sent the invoice to them. They said they would gladly pay once they receive the invoice. And to add insult to injury, they added a finance charge to another the first invoice they sent me.

The management in this spa couldn't care less about your safety or you as a person in general. You are simply a wallet with legs that they're looking to gather their fee from and hustle through the turnstile.) Staff turnover is rampant- as is client turnover. I've been there several times- then found a REAL therapist who actually cares about their clients and listens to my needs- not someone who spends 3 minutes pretending to listen and then does as they please. No good massage therapists work here any longer than they have to- mainly because you can't work here AND care about your clients/give them the quality they're paying their hard earned money for. This place is a joke... Trying to make a place APPEAR nice in no way means that the management OR staff are caring or competent... Each time I had a different therapist, and yet the massages were all the same (way too rough- I felt like I'd been hit with a bag of rocks for several days afterward each time and had my muscles forcefully "cracked" with deep elbow strokes despite informing the therapist that I DON'T LIKE FEELING BEAT UP AFTER A SESSION). The therapist told me herself that she "loves really digging in there and getting at those muscles". Again, despite my requests to both the reception staff AND the massage therapists, only one actually listened- and, like all the good caring ones, she left and opened her own practice less than a year later (which, incidentally, is how it usually works out. Good therapists just plain don't stay here more than a year). They also employ therapists that can't even pass their State Board Exams- and have them working the front desk and giving people recommendations on treatments, products, which therapists are "good"... WHY would they continue to employ people who prove themselves to be incompetent & ignorant in the most obvious & formal way possible?? Because they can't keep good help, and because no decent massage therapist wants to work there. If you like paying your hard-earned dollars to be ignored, beat up, and generally receive bottom-of-the-barrel "service", this is the pit for you!

The staff is friendly. Heather performed skin tightening laser treatment. I have recently been diagnosed with rosacea and she focused on the areas where I am starting to see some redness. She was very friendly and attentive. Since I have never had this performed anywhere before, I really have no baseline to compare it to. She could have been super thorough or not nearly thorough enough and I would have no clue! She initially cleaned my face, applied the laser and then a tightening mask. The whole process was approximately one hour. I was told that the collagen production doesn't increase for 3 weeks and it takes 3 sessions to see results.
