Incredible experience! I went for a buccal facial/massage and Holly has magic hands. She is one of the only massage therapists in the area that offers this intraoral technique, if you have TMJ issues or want a nonsurgical facelift- it's well worth it. My face is glowing and snatched!! The environment is so calming, one of the most relaxing and aesthetic spa rooms I've ever stepped foot in. I had the best experience here! The environment of the space is so calming. The decor is beautiful- bright couches, beautiful music playing. I was here for a makeup application, hair and gel manicure for a wedding I was attending. I was so on the fence about getting all of this professionally done but I am so happy I did. Madi did an incredible job matching the foundation with my skin tone and making me feel naturally beautiful. As a pale chic it is often that makeup artists instant reaction is to make me bronze. I'm writing this review strictly on my pedicure experience. I'm struggling because everyone was actually so nice. In reality, It was not a pleasant experience. I have been getting pedicures for years in numerous salons and they all have elevated pedicure chairs that recline, foot tubs, just proper setups. With this visit I entered kind of a stark room and had to sit in this tiny dining chair in the corner. The technician brought in a plastic bucket of hot water to place at my feet and the ergonomics of the experience was terrible. I was physically uncomfortable. It was also less than a basic pedicure for $40. If you are not equipped to perform a pedicure you should just not offer the service. read more

I can only speak for my mani/pedi experience, but I definitely won't be going back. They do not have pedicure chairs, so you have to sit on a bench and they use a small foot bath and then still have the nerve to charge $40 for a basic pedicure. As for my gel manicure, I got it done on a Wednesday, and both of my thumbs peeled right off by Friday. By Sunday, three more nails peeled off. At that point I decided to take the rest off with no struggle whatsoever--and for anyone who has had gel before knows that it shouldn't be possible to peel right off. Norabloom was overpriced as it was and clearly not worth it. read more

I got a 60 minute facial with Holly and she was very helpful and kind. I would recommend this to people who don't want their extractions to be too aggressive. Since I like my extractions a little on the aggressive side, I am giving Norabloom a 4-star review. Also, they offer complimentary tea and let you sit in their nice relaxing area for as long as you like. P.s. Parking is not included as it is in downtown Ithaca. read more

TL; DR: Norabloom is a beautiful spa, but the customer experience I had irreparably destroyed my impression of the business. I called Norabloom on a Friday afternoon to schedule an appointment for myself and 3 interns to get manicures and pedicures. Surprisingly, they said they would be available from 10am to 1pm the following morning. The following morning I requested two changes to the appointment, making sure that both requests fit into the time slot allotted. I was the first to arrive, and was greeted warmly by one employee, who offered me tea and a neck warmer. The other employee, who was to help us that day, was clearly unhappy. I imagine she was worried about not being able to serve our group within the given time. She begrudgingly began giving me a pedicure, and was minimally responsive as I tried to engage her in conversation. When the other guests arrived, she didn't even acknowledge them; the other employee was working with a customer in a separate room. I had to awkwardly tell them where to hang their coats. The employee became increasingly annoyed as we spoke amongst ourselves, reminding us that there was another guest in the space. We genuinely did our best to keep quiet as not to further agitate the employee. She began to ease up as she realized she would be able to finish with us, and was increasingly friendly towards the end of the service. She finished all of us with a full hour to spare. In total we were given 4 manicures and 1 pedicure, which were due to be 30 minutes and 1 hour each, respectively. However, in order to finish an hour ahead of schedule, she would have had to spend about 20 minutes on each manicure and 30 minutes on the pedi (I checked the time after the pedi). However, we were charged the full amount for our services. I was especially upset, charged $50 for a pedi for which I was given half the service and time. I expressed this in a feedback column available after checkout. My feet were still a bit worn afterwards, so I went home and scrubbed my feet myself--with a better result than the $50 experience I received. I was surprised when I was contacted almost right away by Nora (I hope it was really her). She asked how she could fix it and I explained that the cost was far too high, and she rebutted explaining that they had never had a bad review and that I confused her worker by changing the schedule. I feel that if time was an issue, they should have given us a time other than the one offered. Nora explained that she would like to have a call with me, and I responded with availabilities. I have yet to hear back from her. If the charging experience left me on the fence, this landed me concretely on one side. It is for these reasons that I cannot recommend Norabloom. read more

Holly has created the most lovely and serene little spot of heaven on the Ithaca Commons. The space is just beautiful. This was my first (long overdue) visit and I had the Luxe Pedicure from Nancy and it was delightful! Wonderful organic products, great choice of colors. It made my feet sooo happy. While visiting Ithaca for a wedding I realized I desperately needed a lip and eyebrow wax. Thank god I happened to find Norabloom! Holly did a fantastic job. Not only was she quick and gentle, she was very informative about what she was doing the entire time which made me feel completely confident that I would walk out of the spa looking great. Conveniently located on Ithaca's Downtown Commons with all the great shops and restaurants, Norabloom Beauty Lounge is the perfect blend of sleek Soho loft and creative, southern charm. My facial started with a warm bed, perfect lighting, and soft meditation music. The one hour facial was a true escape and the height of relaxation. Afterward, the skin on my face had a beautiful glow that lasted all day. We have lots of spa's here in Ithaca, but Norabloom rises above the noise. I have been coming to Nora Bloom for manicures for well over a year. In my opinion, they are the best salon for either a regular or a gel manicure in the Ithaca area (I've been to all of them). Between the ambiance of the spa - beautiful, comfortable, clean, relaxing!! - the kindness of the staff - you quickly get onto a first name basis with Holly, Madi, and Nancy - and the clearly superior quality of their products and services, I never go elsewhere unless I have to! The prices for manicures are also ON PAR with other locations in Ithaca, even though the services and customer experience are far superior! Do yourself a favor... make the appointment, and never go elsewhere! read more

I was a little disappointed when I went to go get my gel nails removed and a basic manicure. I'm not sure how service typically is as it was my first time, but when I went, the nail specialist told me we may not have time for a basic manicure because she had someone coming in in 45 minutes. I just said okay because I just honestly wanted to get the gel nails off and have some basic nail care, cuticle cutting etc. To be fair, my gel nails were a bit difficult to get off. When the next client came in, she hurried to take the polish off my fingernails and then said she was sorry but this was all she had time for today. She didn't even cut my nails! I'm very disappointed because I heard such great things about this salon. I might as well just have removed my gel polish myself considering she didn't do any nail care and my nails are quite dry and brittle. read more

Not sure how I've waited this long to review Norabloom, but it is a true gem of a day spa. I've gone to Holly for probably 8 years now for waxings, facials, mani/pedis, products, the works, and have loved seeing the evolution as Holly pours her soul into making this an ever-changing magical place. Holly is incredibly kind, nurturing, and pampering, and she pays careful attention to ensure a personalized service for skin and life needs. Her products are top notch -- small quantities go a really long way. They do what they say to keep my skin healthy, and they feel and smell fabulous. I use the dandelion face cream daily and can pass for about a decade younger than I am (someone once thought I was 16 back when I was 29!). I love the gentle chamomile cleanser (fully sufficient for my makeup removal, including non-waterproof mascara), carrot serum around the eyes, and probably 4-5 other Norabloom products that I use as-needed from my cabinet, plus my lavender neck pillow, delicious teas .. I am a total sucker but haven't regretted a single purchase. I am thrilled that Madi is back at Norabloom offering nail services. Her bio-seaweed gel nails are superb and she's my favorite nail artist in Ithaca. She is precise and talented, and she only uses products that are nourishing and gentle. The gel nails easily last 3 weeks, and I use my hands and nails rather roughly working in a lab and playing sports. They'd last longer except for my nails growing out! She is also incredibly sweet and full of ideas, and I have loved getting to know and see her grow her over the years. I can always trust that Norabloom will be beautifully decorated, impeccably clean, and that I'll be greeted with friendship at the door. Having recently moved away to Arizona I dearly miss seeing Holly and Madi regularly, but my visits back to Ithaca always require a stop (or multiple..) back into Norabloom to see Holly's new ideas coming to life. I can't believe I forgot to review Norabloom back when I got my first facial. This place is amazing. It is so tranquil and relaxing, with unexpected kind touches (tea and cookies! lip balm!), an amazing esthetician who took a lot of care with my skin, and a line of natural facial creams and lotions. The space is beautiful and the experience is transcendent. I plan to return for more specialized treatments (some spot treatment for persistent skin issues). Note: this salon/lounge also has oncology facial treatments - what a necessary thing. read more

Holly came to my wedding site and did makeup for myself, my sister, and my mom. We all have different tastes for makeup, and she did all three perfectly! Holly is also so kind, and gives you a big ego boost with her compliments :) My dad kept commenting all day that my eyes looked so big and blue like when I was a little girl, and thats because Holly really helped them stand out for my big day!! Holly also was very flexible with me about setting up a trial, and gave me a great lesson during it too. I would highly recommend her for wedding makeup.
