Just leased my car from here, and was very pleased with the service. Everyone I met including Mr. Skinner was kind and helpful. The car salesman, Brad, was helpful and not pushy. The price was low and straight forward. It's a large dealership so they make money by selling many cars and therefore give fair prices. Other small dealerships don't sell as many cars so they have to mark up their vehicles to compensate. The inside of the building is very clean and there is a nice waiting area for customers. This dealership and it's service department is just a piece of you know what! We decided to take my wife's Buick in to this dealer as it was the one nearest the house. I had the car diagnosed for free from O'Reilly's, which prompted the trip to the dealer. We took the car in on late Friday before they closed, knowing we would have to wait until Monday to hear anything. Come Monday, not a word. I called and was told they were terribly busy that morning and should be able to get to it Tuesday. Come Tuesday no call. I call and am now told they will get to it before the day is over and will "hopefully be able to diagnose what the problem is". At this point we have to get a rental as we both work. Wednesday they tell me they have figured out what the problem is and they have to order a part, overall cost around $450. We were going to be out of town Thursday and were planning on getting the car back Friday. I call Friday and the part has yet to be ordered so now we have to wait until Monday again because they are not open Saturday and Sunday. Come Monday, still no part. I'm pretty ticked off at this point and ask what is the problem since they have had the car over a week. I am then told on the part has been ordered and should be there in the morning. I talk to them again and am told by some rude person in the service dept that they can't find the part. I was so tired of hearing their double talk, I just hung up the phone. Had to extend the car rental for a few more days because their ineptitude. I then received a voice mail on my phone telling me the car will be ready for pick up in the morning. We both got out of work around the same time and went to pick up the car. After waiting for someone to come to the service counter we were told they have still been unable to find the part and it might be another week before the car would be repaired. Needless to say my patience was at it's end. I was going to show this person the voice message that said the car was ready for pickup, but this person could have cared less about anything that was previously said. Also mentioned that if I could provide him with 2-3 professional technicians, we could have the car fixed tomorrow. What an ass! I asked him for the keys to the car as we don't plan on them doing anything more. At that point he said he wasn't giving up the keys until the diagnostic fee of $145.00 was paid. $145 for something O'Reilly's does for free. This place should be blackballed as a decent place of business. No one should trust this place. Just look at many of the reviews. The majority are as negative as it gets. read more

Drove 40 minutes because they had what we were looking for spoke with Roy through out the day about the trade and estimated prices informed them ahead of time that we'd be coming this afternoon to look at it and upon our arrival the vehicle was dirty inside and out so the first thing I checked was the mileage and saw that it already had over 400 miles on it so my question was is it a demo and we were informed that no it was not a demo Mr Skinners wife just needed something to drive while hers was being worked on I didn't mind the price but I did mind buying a "brand new" vehicle with more miles on it than my wife would put on it in a month not to mention how rude he was after us expressing our concerns read more

So where do I begin? Let's just start with I am a young lady in my late twenties who don't know much about a car at all. I feel as if I was ripped off by Skinners GMC and discriminated against. On July 8, I took my car to Skinners in Terry, MS to see what was wrong with it. I went in due to my RPM was fluctuating while the car was in park. I received a call from Jeff, stating "The turbo went out on your car and it was the reason for some of your problems, Ms. Johnson it's going to be about $1900, I have to call and order parts. Not even two hours later, he called me back and said, "Ms. Johnson don't worry about a thing it's something we did, or something in that nature." He mentioned something in a warranty or a recall. Told me I wouldn't have to come out of pocket at all. I was so relieved and ecstatic, we shared laughs on the phone and I thanked him over & over. The following week, I called to check and make sure everything was okay with my car, he told me "Ms. Johnson, everything's fine I ordered the part it will take 3-5 business days for It go come in." By this time it's like the 3-5 business days were over a week. I showed up at the dealership twice checking on my car, I was told by Jeff, they were still working on my car. I called numerous of times leaving messages for him and etc. Keep in mind, I didn't have an extra car to use, I asked about a loaner vehicle, I was told they don't give out loaner vehicles. Just to find out on July 28th that they have actually 5 loaner vehicles there. On July 26, I called to see whether or not my car was ready, and I was told by Jeff, it wasn't ready and did I know I had a massive oil leak. I told him, "no, it didn't have one prior to bringing it because I have been getting oil changes on the regular and you did a diagnostic test in the beginning". So he stated, "he will talk to the technician and see if it was something they could have possibly done". He called me back about an hour later and said, "it was the technician fault, I do apologize, we have to order a part it should be here by tomorrow and ready tomorrow, you don't have to worry about a thing, that's on us as well." On July 28, I went to pick up my car and Jeff mysteriously forgot everything we spoke about. He gave my invoice to the cashier and she stated, I owe $1885 I then said, "I thought this was covered. She sent me to speak to Jeff. He said, he didn't remember telling me anything in that nature. He don't see any recalls and the warranty was out. I later waited on a manager. Angela came up and had a word with me in her office. I told her what was told to me and so on. Angela said she's going to see what she can do and she may can't help with everything but she can see what she can do. She walked out her office and came back and gave me two options, you can pay the $1885 or we can take our parts off your car and put yours back on. At this point, I'm crying because she also insinuated that she don't believe Jeff told me that and Jeff has worked for her for 10 years. I then said, "Angela, just take the parts off my car, she said it won't be ready today, if I do that". I asked where's the accommodation for me as a customer, someone who has been waiting 3 weeks on their vehicle. I even explained to her if I knew the balance of my vehicle I would've been there everyday waiting on my car. She didn't believe anything I said. She said, "Ms. Johnson I'm not calling you a liar, all I'm saying is Jeff has worked with me for 10 years." She even went on to say you're not an established regular customer, I told her my car wasn't giving me any issues prior to paying it off, now that it's paid off, I'm bringing it to a dealership myself. I asked Angela, "how would I be accommodated in this situation", she stated, "I can have someone to take you in your daughter home". I was so heartbroken. I asked if I would speak with the owner or her boss, she stated that the owner not in and she is at the top of the chain. I was so over it I ended up paying $1878.27, just to drive off in my car and have to bring it back within 5 minutes because something wasn't done right. My daughter and I had to wait an additional 45 minutes to an hour roughly. As a black single woman I felt as if I was discriminated against at this dealership. Also, to be called a liar, I couldn't believe the level of professionalism with the top manager and this establishment was so low. I left this place in tears, people shouldn't do others this way especially in a professional setting. Beware, this dealership engages in Yo-Yo financing. On 09/02/2019 I traded in my truck at payoff value and purchased a new one at this dealership. We were approved financing at an acceptable rate, signed papers and left with the truck. 11 days later, we were contacted by "Tony", the Finance Manager, telling us the financing had fallen through, and that we either needed to bring the truck back to the dealership or sign a new contract (+5% higher APR than the original contract and +$60/mo higher payment). I asked about terminating the deal and just taking my trade-in back, along with my down payment. Tony replied, "No. We've already paid for the truck." So they have taken my truck and placed me in a position where I have two choices. Return the truck and walk home, or pay close to double the retail value of the truck due to outrageous finance charges. I was appalled. Before returning to the dealership to sign this contract I knew I would regret (what choice did I have, really?) I reached out to both GM and the manager of the dealership. I recounted the facts as they happened to both parties. GM stated they would open a case and relay the complaint to the dealership. I spoke with Brent Skinner over the phone and explained the negative experience we've taken from his dealership and asked if there was anything he could do for us as a customer. Perhaps something to retain a customer and act in good faith that the deal had gone from fair to taking advantage of a consumer? "No", Brent Skinner's words were "As a customer, you don't see our side and what we have already done for you to make this happen" - meaning the new contract with a ridiculously high APR that they had to "pull strings" to make happen. Even an offer of a tank of gas to drive out 30 miles to buy into their deceptive practices would have been a nice band-aid on the wound they've inflicted on our wallets already. Let it be known that I did my part to reach out to all relevant parties to find a solution before resorting to sharing my experience with the public. However, it was made apparent to me that management at this dealership doesn't deal in pragmatic, good faith solutions. "Sorry." is best this business has to offer, from my experience. This dealership will allow you to leave their lot with their vehicle, with a seemingly great deal, under the impression that the financing was approved and finalized, only to reel you back in, pointing fingers at financial institutions and not their own feigned ignorance of what an approval really entails. Twice, the finance manager gloated about having "been in the business for over 20 years", but for us it's become apparent how those years were spent. In conclusion, I would not recommend this business in any capacity to anyone. I can guarantee that my family and friends will stay far away from this place. Y'all had a choice and several opportunities to turn this into a positive experience and make a return customer of us and you failed tremendously. In the end, it may have been completely legal. But legality does not equate morality and in our opinion this is a very immoral business. read more

Bought a used car here that has had multiple problems within 2 months of purchasing. Their response was delayed and lukewarm for the first problem, indicating straight off the bat that they would likely not be assisting with any issues after purchase. I have not wasted my time with them since and have had to foot the bill on various repairs already. Not trustworthy. Don't buy here. read more

The service department has continued to try and remove the vibration from my Extended Cab Silverado that I purchased new in June of 2015 but they can not get it fixed and this is supposed to be a known problem with the Extended Cab but not the Crew cab. After a year of trying to get this fixed I tried to trade it in on a Crew cab with Skinners but they would not work with me even though they knew I had this issue from the day I purchased it. I decide that the only way to remedy this situation was to trade the Silverado in on a 2016 FORD F150 and that is what I did due to the dealership not wanting to keep me as a customer. The service Department was very nice and did what they could but I'm disappointed in Mr. Skinner not working with me on this issue and trying to keep me a GM owner. read more
