Skipjacks has been our local chippy since I was a kid. Each trip to the UK (as we live in the US now) involves a visit to Skipjacks. Absolutely fabulous fish and chips shop. Took away three large and two medium cod and chip boxes today. Got them back to the place and WOW!!!! Best fish and chips ever. I went to Skipjacks once with my friend, we liked the chips especially, the chips are AMAZING! The people who work there are greek, and they are the nicest family run chip shop I know around my area. My friend and I, have now made a tradition of at least once a week, we go and buy a something. We go so regular the women behind the counter knows exactly what I usually have. I think I must have eaten in every fish and chip shop in NW London and the surrounding area over the past 50 years, Skipjacks beats them all, that's why I keep going back. Superb quality fish and lovely tasty golden chips, complemented by exceptional service. read more

I solemnly swear this is the best fish and chip restaurant in London. They do it multiple ways: Battered, for something lighter have it in matzo meal or my personal preference is to keep it simple and let the quality of the fish do the talking - just let them grill it. Just whatever you do, don't chose the salmon teriyaki, ok? Portions are very ample. You will be full half way through and it will be way too much, but you will try to finish it all despite yourself. I've reviewed the Takeaway part of the restaurant before so see that for more. It's a bit of trek these days for me but worth it every single time. In fact I wonder why I don't go more (and yes Vicky L we shall go one day!). All hail the king of fish and chips. read more

This has both a take away and restaurant and is well worth a visit. You'll quite often find queues for the take-away as it's very popular. Skipjacks has built up a reputation for offering quality fish and chips, for which they've won awards and commendations, and this is reflected in the price. Skipjacks offers quite simply the best fish and chips ( and mushrooms and onion rings) I have ever eaten! On a Friday the cue is out the door , but no one minds waiting , we are all there for the same reason, and everyone knows they are getting top quality faire . Lovely grub and good friendly service . Portions are good but a bit pricey if you eat in the restaurant. I think £50/£60 for two in what is basically a glorified chippy is a bit expensive. read more

Extremely over priced! Like 2-3 times more then any other chipy! Once got an out of date chicken and mushroom pie which really stank and when I took it back they offered me another out of date pie! Stupid! read more

I really can't understand how people are praising this restuarant. I had a cod and chips takeaway, and the cod was franly awful. It tasted very salty and was extremely dry as well. I've been to quite a few Fish & Chips restuarants in North-West London, and this was one of the worst. The cost of £6.50 for the Cod was also more expensive than most other restaurants in North-West London The taste of the chips was on a par with a number of other restaurants - no better or no worse. However the portion size was slightly smaller than others in relation to the price of £1.90 for a small portion. Overall, a poor experience and I certainly shall not return. read more

This is the best fish and chips north side of London. Haven't tried better but been to a few including sea pebbles but the ambience and staff make up for what sea pebbles lack in not to mention the food either. I frequent this place at least once a week and a regular to many there alas on my own as most of my friends are vegetarian but welcome me nevertheless. I usually pick a quieter time as it is myself but they are busy full stop . Best time to go is after 8 . There is no booking and they always seat you . read more

We dinned at the restaurant (there's also a takeaway next door). We just arrived from 5 months of traveling and dining in Europe and the Skipjacks restaurant food and the service is the best we've had. We had a good Spanish white wine (Muro) with our seafood salad an cod. The pictures of the food do not do it justice. The waiter was excellent we're going back again tonight. read more

The best fish and chip shop in the area, it has won awards as the best chippy in London and the Southeast always spotlessly clean, the finest fish the best chips and the friendliest staff. The restaurant next door must be booked and even then you may have to wait for your table but its worth it, a friend who is a chipaholic says "It just doesnt get any better than this" read more

friday night whole family treat meal at skipjacks restaurant. we got guest staying so 8 people the waiters were very good they made up a large table for us as soon as they had tables free .2 waiters were very hard working and polite to all customers despite being packed. we had 4 soups homemade fish soup lovely 4 prawn cocktails excellent portions you could actually see the prawns. 2cod in batter 2 roast chicken haddock in matzo grilled dover sole spare ribs and southern chicken . we had chips separate so all could have what they liked still plenty greek salad as well thank you to the staff for a most enjoyable meal sorry we made a bit of mess. despite being busy they clear away tables promptly without fuss. the owner came in and said hello to all the customers she thanked everyone for coming which was a nice touch you don't normally see. our guest had never been to skipjacks before but now thats 2 new customers for them. read more
