I purchased a Groupon for a 75 min. deep pore detoxification facial. Over my experience was nice and I could see visable results immediately. My esthetician was very knowledgeable and explain ever step you did. I honestly would had less preferred talking but it was nice that she wanted to educate me. The room itself was neat and tidy. Being that I did buy from a Groupon at the end they wanted to up sell me products and packages. I actually bought 2 Groupons and will be going back and I feel for what I paid on Groupon and the treatment I got ....I am winning. read more

On June 14, 2025 I purchased two Groupons, one 60 minute deep tissue massage and a 75 minute facial for SKN SPA in Yonkers. The salon said the next available appointment was June 17th so I booked it for the massage. When I got there the room I was in was cold. There was no sheet, just a rough towel to cover me. The massage therapist did not ask me throughout the massage how I felt or if the temperature or pressure was ok. She also barely used any oil, it felt like her hands were dry rubbing my skin. She applied pressure to my upper back and it felt like she was pressing on my bones. I let her know that it hurt and she said, "It's a good pain". I also felt like she was rubbing too close to my private areas. I didn't know what to expect or what was coming next. I didn't know if any of that was normal but I didn't feel comfortable. I had bruising near my groin a day after. At no point was I told to expect this or given any reassurance before, during or after the massage. During the massage, while I was still laying on the table she proceeded to push massage packages on me. When it was over, I went to the front to pay the taxes they said was due after the massage. There was a tip menu on the counter showing the recommended tip amounts which the massage therapist pointed out to me. I didn't want to tip her after that and felt pressured by her to do so. I tipped her but she wasn't satisfied with the amount and proceeded to show me the tip menu again. I left the place feeling upset and violated. On June 26, I reached out to the owner and explained my experience to him. His response was a chuckle and "So why did you wait until today to call?" He was insensitive to my feelings and unapologetic, basically invalidating my experience. I explained that instead of going to the website and writing a bad review I called to talk to him first and he replied "I don't give a shit, write the review". The experience with SKN SPA overall was so unprofessional, It is concerning. I reached out to Groupon to try to recover the money for the unused facial and they are saying they cannot refund it because of their 3 day refund policy. Seems like the spa understands this policy, probably why they waited 3 days to book me. I understand everyone's trying to make a living but show some dignity, respect and CARE to people who are coming to you for this type of service. It's shameful and very disturbing. All I wanted was to eliminate stress and I left with more of it. read more

On Saturday, March 2, 2025, I received a deep tissue massage and left in unbearable pain. I understand some soreness and bruising are normal, but the pain I experienced was extreme. That night, I woke up in tears from excruciating discomfort. By the second day, I couldn't move and spent it in bed with Tylenol and a heating pad. As of Monday, I'm still in severe pain, with sharp discomfort along my spine when breathing and difficulty standing or lying down. I contacted Skn Spa to ask if this was normal. The first person who answered panicked, handed the phone to someone else, and when I asked again, the second person said it wasn't normal and that I should see a doctor. I was furious because I had repeatedly asked the therapist to ease up during the massage, communicated my pain, and was visibly squirming, but she continued without concern. The lady initially offered a refund but then changed her mind, saying they needed to consult with the manager first. The manager, Winnie, called me to discuss the situation. I explained everything, and she mentioned that the therapist claimed to have repeatedly asked if I was okay during the massage. I corrected her and referred back to the initial conversation when I was asking her if this is normal, the exact conversation was, "I told you many times that you were doing it too hard! You didn't listen to me and I begged you to please ease up!" The therapist's exact words were, "I know, I'm so sorry!!". After I shared this with Winnie, she became quiet and said they couldn't issue a refund until she spoke to management. When I asked, "I thought you were the manager?" she replied, "I have to speak to management first to see if they'll approve the refund." Winnie later called back, offering a refund on one condition: I sign a liability form. Based on how they were handling my case, I knew something was wrong, so I refused to sign and immediately sought medical attention. I went to the hospital, where I was prescribed muscle relaxers and a strong anti-inflammatory, but I am still suffering. I also need to see a physical medicine/rehabilitation specialist to assess the extent of the damage. Due to severe pain and limited mobility, I am unable to drive, do any of my normal daily tasks, or work, and have been forced to take disability leave. I called Skn Spa again to inform them of my current condition, but they blocked my number from both the Yonkers and NYC locations. The manager, winnie, called me on a different number and also blocked me from that number. The way this business handles its clients is unacceptable--they clearly prioritize money over customer care. read more

My Esthetician gives you the best facial, and spa massage I have ever had. Honestly, spa massages can be a gamble. But this therapist listened to me, had no ego, was incredible at her, job, and frankly Cecile deserves a raise! I had purchased a facial package with skin station, which closed, and was told that this business honored those packages. I suspect it's the same business but they moved ( suspicious). I made an appointment and explained that I had a package and was told that the files are in the spa. I came for my appointment- they neglected to tell me that they couldn't find my file and after the service I was told I would have to pay over $200. After several phone calls ( during one it was mentioned that the computer isn't reliable) they said that the computer doesn't have a record of my purchasing a package so I will need to speak to the boss. He, basically, called me a liar and accused me of taking advantage of them!! I'm furious that I paid for the service twice and was verbally assaulted by the boss. I will never set foot in that business again and don't recommend that anyone use it! I feel totally taken advantage of and their prices are outrageous! read more
