Great prices, customer service and convenience! I usually shop with Marty and Ms. Brenda because they always have a smile on their faces and really love to work with the parents and especially kids! I ordered a pair of shorts for my grandson. when I ordered they were listed as in stock and expected delivery date was 1 week. After ordering I was notified they were out of stock. I received 3 different notifications from UPS telling me my order was out for delivery followed by notifications notifying me they were sorry but it was still out of stock. skobels customer service was unhelpful. The shorts finally arrived after 3 weeks. I think they need to better update their systems to give customers proper expectations. read more

The manager Tiffany at this location in Metairie is a nasty woman! I came into the store simply to exchange an item for the next size up. I had purchased the original item using a coupon and expected this to be a straightforward size exchange. Instead, I was immediately accused of trying to reuse a coupon, even though I was only asking for a different size of the exact same item. Because your system apparently could not charge me the small $2 price difference, the manager chose to process a refund and then have me repurchase the item. This resulted in me paying an additional $20, which was frustrating enough on its own. What made the experience much worse was the manager's behavior. Rather than calmly explaining the situation, she became loud and argumentative in front of other customers. Her tone drew unnecessary attention, and I felt embarrassed as people began looking over to see what was happening. I am a quiet person and do not like being the center of attention, so this was especially uncomfortable. It felt as though the manager was irritated that I had interrupted her lunch, and that frustration was taken out on me. There was no reason for such a simple interaction to escalate into a public confrontation. I understand that employees must follow store policies and system limitations, but customers should still be treated with respect and professionalism. If I could leave a 0 star review, I would. I shop in Metairie. The staff in store is pleasant. It's mainly embroidery, pricing, and customer service after ordering that I have an issue with. Charging a "late fee" after July 11 for school uniforms is price gouging. Even paying the fee the items take 4 weeks. In Metairie they tell me my items are embroidered on WB, but the WB store tells me items are sent to Metairie for embroidery. So which is it? You cannot call and talk to a person that works in store and knows anything. It's all third party people that don't know what's going on. The "manager" Tiffany couldn't be less helpful if she tried. Horrible customer service. Placed online orders ship that NEVER shipped . Impossible to get anyone on the phone. If you call "the store", you get someone they is remotely working from who knows where. The online chat option is also useless. I purchased uniforms from the Metairie location in the month of August where it is mandatory per the school request. My toddlers jumpers shrunk above her knees and faded within one month from the date of purchase. The care of the garment was followed properly yet the uniform by Becky Thatcher shrunk and faded tremendously. I went into the store in hopes of getting an exchange and after the rep sized the uniforms new and used she was able to see the shrinkage along with bringing my child in to see how short the uniform was above her knees. She advised because they were worn she could not take them back and that no one else had ever complained although the shrinkage was visible to her eye. The rep then advised someone by the name of Jener would be calling me back. Jener Bold then called and mentioned I was the only parent to complain and that it was a personal issue and she was unable to exchange the uniforms. I have escalated the issue awaiting to here from the owner because it is not fair that we as parents are mandated to purchase uniforms from Skobels Metairie location and not be able to purchase school uniforms /apparel with any other renowned stores if there cannot be a purchase guaranteed. The quality of the Becky Thacker brand is poor vs the Classroom brand that showed no shrinkage thus far. Jener argues that is their most popular brand and basically my claims are false regarding the shrinkage although my child was present along with the multiple brands I was sold. I found her to be extremely rude and disrespectful to have undermined the facts of the matter. I took the time to bring my child into the store along with every uniform and to tell me no other parent had ever complained was very irrelevant and disappointing. I had the same problem last year but I would have been in that percentage of parents that did not complain as well only because I thought my child was going through a growth spurt at that time and that was not true. The only reason I knew it was the uniform this time is because I was sold different brands that I was able to use and compare also I knew my child had not grown that drastic in one month. What constitutes an exchange because the Classroom brand holds a better wash with no fading? I'm sure other parents have experienced the same issue and may have thought their kids were just growing but no the material is poor quality and they are not worth $55-60 to be repurchase within one month. Shopped here numerous times before for Holy Cross uniforms. Last 2 times my embroidery was noticeably off. The 1st time, my son's school uniform shirt appeared to have gotten caught in the machine and it caused the fabric to almost have a hole in it (on the 1st letter of his name). Washing this numerous times would have for sure damaged it. I returned it and was adamant about receiving a new one. Simple mistake, I get it. They allowed me to keep the shirt and was going to embroider a new one free of charge for the inconvenience. The 2nd time, I purchased a booksack and my husband picked it up along with the shirt, both of which had to be embroidered. When he got home, I looked at both and they both were noticeable off. The shirt had a different type style setting in comparison to all of my son's other shirts and with a darker thread. Also, the booksack embroidery was almost going into the zipper. I called the store and asked to speak to a manager and was told the owner comes to the store if need be. I asked the young lady to take my info and have the owner call me. 2 days later, no call. While doing my weekend errands, I decided to call and spoke to a "owner", Marty. He asked that I send him pictures. He called back to say that there was nothing wrong and different machines embroider different. I did not want this to be an issue in the school year and asked for both to be replaced, he refused to do and proceeded to tell me that they embroider over 20,000 things per year and asked how many I embroider.......*as he slurpped on his drink so unprofessionally*. Remembering that this is my son's school and my kids were in the car with me, I politely told him that they would loose business because I am a teacher and am on the PTA board and would make sure other parents knew they don't stand behind their work. He asked me what school I worked at....as if that had anything to do with his unprofessionalbility and the matter at hand. I reminded him that customer service was horrible and you can't talk to customers rudely and he told me that had been in business for 41years. It was alot of back and forth and I told him, maybe it was his parents business or a family business, but with his ethics, he surely had not been in business that long and would not be in business that much longer and I would be seeking ways to have my stuff exchanged for embroidery done correctly. A few minutes later, he texted me and said that they were going to force the embroider to redo. I did not respond. 10 mins later, I received a call from a lady, who apologized and told me I can bring it back for a refund of the item and embroidery. I explained to her that I was not trying to get anything free or anyone in trouble, I just wanted the goods that I purchased in satisfactory condition. She said she understood because they are not cheap. I think her name was Brenda. 《Side note: booksack $63 and shirt $24 plus $7 for embroidery》. I went back and received money back with no problem and unfortunately these instances have diminished the Skobel's brand to me. BUYER BEWARE The face masks are unfit for purpose they are sold for. We ordered these out of a desire to patronize local craftspeople and support a local firm during these difficult times. We foolishly trusted that the size is serviceable. They simply are not tall enough to fit an adult male's face and barely are functional for an adult woman. (it kinda-sorta works after she pulled out a seam) In addition to being too small to cover the face, the large seam over the nose prevents a decent air seal at the top. Since these were worn, or rather tried until discarded, I don't expect a refund, but the company was unresponsive to a thoughtful, polite email. BUYER BEWARE!! read more

They posted surgical masks for $9.99, but dint list all the restrictions! Google shows they were open, in fact they aren't. Called to order masks, was told if I ordered online I'd only be able to get what's at the store on Clearview! Ordered 3 masks but checking out it said I had to go to Gretna! I'd explained I was in the parking lot. The next call I was told they had masks at that store but had to go to Greta ! False advertising for something that's in demand in unthinkable! I can't get over how someone can offer a COVID relief program to " seem like they helping " and give u such a hard time in redeeming ONE SHIRT AT 50% off ! I did the application and got an email stating it was submitted , then I find out I need a code when I get there ! And then contact school they don't know anything about a code or how it works. The employees at Skobel are so uninformed about how it works , she said " I don't know I just was told I needed to get a code to offer discount " and I replied , well how long does it takes and who does the verifying ? Poor Customer Service and Communication Skills Call the store to see if they had my son's school shirts at their location the you lady who answered the phone say yes. Then I asked here would it be better to come in or place order online being that I was going to be coming on my lunch break and won't have much time. She said it would be better to place it online and I could just come to the store and pick them up. Place an order online for school shirts to be picked up at the Metairie store. After days passed by I call the store to get an update/status on my order because it never change since I placed it. I called the store I never got the Metairie location, I got Terrytown and Belle Chase. So I asked the girl how can get in contact with the Metairie location she said their phone rolls over to them and I would just have to keep calling back to back to try and get them. And she could not check or my order because I had to speak with the Metairie store. So I called back got a young man on the phone (not Metairie store) again. Then I asked him if he could tell me what is going on with my order..he said yes and told be that the shirt was out of stock and didn't know when they would get the shirts in to make it for his school. I was like the girl checked and said they had them! I asked how do I go about getting a refund. I was told I would have to printed out my email and bring it in to the store. Okay go into the store the girl tells me I have to do it online...that not what I was told on the phone. She called someone and she did the refunded on the computer and it should be on my card shortly. 24 hours go by still no money put back on my card yet or I email them, respond was 5-10 days depending on your card. They came to the different schools to give us fliers to pass out to the kids. In addition to that 20%discount cards were left and specified to give to the staff. Well staff means anyone who works at the school right. It says bring your work id along with the card. Unfortunately the cards are not for staff but teachers only. That should have been specified before we handed them out to all the staff because once you waste gas and time going to the store they inform you that the discount can't be used. read more
