Randomly stopped into this casino not long ago because something deep inside me will not let me pass a casino without at least placing a little bet. Not sure if that's healthy but it is what it is. It's clean. It's medium sized. It's bustling. It's got a vast array of slots and all the table games. Best of all, it's got low minimums. I like to play craps and blackjack, but I'm not a high stakes gambler. The norm nowadays seems to be higher and higher minimums which at a craps table can price you out of a full strategy unless you want to risk a significant amount of cash at once, for blackjack, higher minimums mean less playing time on average for the same bankroll. This place had $3 blackjack, which meant that I could sit around for a while and play for fun without it being a big $ decision to do so. For that I am thankful and I'll definitely return if I'm in the area again. Nice people, cheap blackjack, good clean space. I come here to play bingo from time to time. But I always have issues with the coffee bar. This most recent time is wild! I ordered a simple cold brew with sweet cream, as I'm drinking, I noticed the cream has curdled. I go back and ask if I can have my drink remade and explain what's going on. The girl tells me that's how the drink is made. I tell her it's not supposed to be chunky, but she insists it is, and then she proceeds to charge me to make a new drink. Not only that but a disheveled girl sitting at the table, who I assume works there and is hanging out at her job off hours, requests to see the drink, then they start trying the curdled coffee to see what the problem is! Stayed at the RV Park here for a couple weeks in late June and July and had an amazing experience. The staff was incredibly welcoming and friendly. One man at the front desk was even kind enough to give some leftover meats to my dog. They also are taking the pandemic seriously. They require masks, temperature checks, and every day when we visited the casino I observed someone cleaning. The bathrooms were impeccable! The only downside is there are no showers at the park. However, you do get a voucher to take a shower at the travel center that's about one block away. read more

Stopped for gas and services here. Small but convenient. Looks like a decent hotel. All in the middle of the mountains surrounding you. It's beauty gets a 5 star. Found out Acoma Pueblo closed still due to COVID. Hoping for Christmas opening. I've been to Acoma and love it so I'll return for the celebrations, ceremonies, and dances. I don't gamble much so I pushed on. I'm a degenerate in most things and have all the addictive traits so I stay away. I would just blow the college tuition and such. This review is for the Huwaka Restaurant which is inside the Sky City Casino. It should actually have it's own "yelp" review site. There were four of us visiting the restaurant on a Saturday night. The choice at the restaurant was either the BBQ buffet at $16 or order off the menu. We all ordered off the menu. There was a good choice. Specials of the day including soup of the day was quoted wrong from server so items had to be changed. Three of us were served at one time and about five minutes later came the fourth plate. Everyone should be served at once. The food overall was pretty good. Gravy on the hot beef sandwich was the exception. It tasted like it was from bullion cubes. Philly sandwich was excellent and hot turkey sandwich very good too. However, there wasn't even enough gravy over the turkey to cover the bread so I asked for more gravy. When the bill came I was surprised that the server charged extra the gravy that should have come on the plate in the first place!! However, cashier did take the charge off thus the 3 stars instead of 2. As I said, food was good but server needed a little help with correct menu items, timing and charging without being told of the additional charge. read more

Horrible experience at the restaurant here. The casino was ok. But the staff with there customer service is horrible, everyone is extremely rude and I never complain but my food came out cold like really cold and it was chicken Alfredo, no big deal send it back comes out a couple mins later the bowl is hot but noodles and chicken still cold, they literally gave me the biggest attitude because my food came out cold. There is so much more to say but I'm over it. I'm so upset leaving there. We stayed overnight at the RV Park in a class A.. the space was level and long enough for our 39 foot and tow. The staff all very nice. We ate a good dinner at the cafe, we didn't go into the actual casino. We were able to have a beer or wine with dinner but in the RV park we had to sign that we would not drink outside of our motorhome, never heard of such a thing! We paid $15. Spent the night in their RV Park. 20.00. However, the shower house was closed for the winter. Had dinner at the restaurant. Husband had the wedge salad, and loved it. It was huge! I had the fajitas, and I would say they were fair. The rice was good. The beans under cooked. The fajita mix was well seasoned. Big serving. I took leftovers for breakfast the next morning. Looking out over the desert with no modern obstructions you can imagine a time long ago and feel as if you were part of something bigger and more sacred than what we see today. This review is for the RV Park! Michelle in the RV check in office is so very sweet! She was slammed with customers and phone calls and still was on it and helped everyone in a fast and sweet manner. There really aren't enough reviews about great workers so I wanted to really mention how awesome she is! Pretty views, nothing crazy but spacious spots and everything you need! Good Sam discount is about $19 a night. Great place to stay at a affordable rate. Felt safe and happy here! Sky City casino was a place I called home for my friend and I traveling across the country on I40 West. Before we arrived, we were stuck in the mud... quite literally. The Laguna Pueblo Tribe assisted in our attempt to free ourselves from the thick clay mud, but to no avail we were not getting out till the stuff dried up. The friendly and helpful Laguna Tribe police chief told us that we were not getting out till the ground froze over early the next morning, and advised us to stay at his casino, hence our stay at Sky City. After driving us to the casino himself, he left us in the hands of his compassionate people. The employees, native peoples, and tourists alike were as friendly as can be and accepted us with open arms. They brought us warm water to wash our muddy feet off in the front of the hotel, gave us 2 comfortable beds and a sizable, clean room for under $70 (including complimentary breakfast buffet for both of us). Their Sky Lounge sports bar was the perfect venue to watch the Sunday football games, and eased the worries of our immobile vehicle with reasonably priced happy hour cocktails. As for their casino, I am a rookie gambler so losing $80 is a small price to pay for the hotel's hospitality, convenience, and comfortable beds. The following morning, the mud dried to dirt and we drove out in an optimistic, well-rested fashion. If I ever find myself stuck in the mud 50 miles west of Albuquerque, I will not have to think twice about the pillow I rest my head on. read more

Do you fill out comment cards? You know, those little "How was your experience with us today" thingys, typically stuffed alongside your bill? I don't, never have. They're awkward, wonky, an administrative additive to your dining venture that kind of interrupts the closure of the, eh, otherwise organic moment. This review concerns the Huwaka restaurant/buffet, that's it. They don't offer comment cards, but if management puts in the time to read their reviews, including this one, they could actually learn a little something about what they could be doing better, implement a few simple changes and dramatically improve the experience. Or they could just keep doing what they're already doing and, well, continue to steer the general public away from the restaurant. And that would be a shame, because the (somewhat pricey) buffet looks like it definitely serves up the real deal. A few big comments for the card. 1) Greet your customers. If we're going to wait even a few minutes for a table (in our case, 10), acknowledge their presence, especially if two employees are standing a few feet from the hungry clientele. 2) Offer a salad bar option. You have a soup/salad bar, but diners can't get in on that action without buying in to the entire buffet. It's a decent salad bar. 3) Up your game on the freaking green chile stew! You're in the heart of New Mexico, represent! The broth was glorified water, so sad. A few small changes around here could make a big, big difference. read more

We stayed at the RV park. Price was good $22.50. Sites are all pull through and long enough for 41' long fifths wheel and truck. Sites are narrow with a weird lip on both sides that makes it hard to put down ladder. Our site wasn't level. No trees. Your are not allowed to drink alcohol outside of your rig. You have to have a key to unlock electricity and water. Why? Casino was small. read more

Stayed in RV park for two nights. Full hook ups for $16.50 a night. We were impressed with how cordial all their staff was from the front desk, restaurant staff and security staff who provided shuttle service from the RV park to the main facilities. Casino is nice, clean and offers variety of gaming. Buffet was a good bargain. Salad bar was plentiful, meats were tender and tasty. Desserts were lackluster but decent. Worst experience ever and I won 137 dollars but I'm still never going back. I hit on a few machines that I play a lot, and it didn't pay out. Also I signed up for the players club card and they make it a gamble they say you could between 5 and 1000 but everyone there has never got more then 5 (I've asked around) also the first machine I play took my hole 5, and it malfunctioned but they didn't give me back the money. Also your 5 credits equal 5 dollars so this is when I use my own money and win 137 now the points show 31 but none of the machines will let me use it. I asked the cashier and he said it takes 500 points to get 1 dollar of credits so I need to win 5000 dollars just to get 1 dollar free play. If I won that why the fuck would I care about the 1 dollar. This place is set up for failure. read more

Nothing much around this place other than a Mcdonalds and Casino. I'm not a gambler so I didn't test out the machines but the few people inside looked happy enough. Check-in was quick, rooms were nice, and it was reasonably quiet from the outside noise. The windows on the second floor opened up fully but had no screens! No options for fresh air without letting in the bugs! Eeks! They offered only these miniature, and I mean miniature, square pillows. I like myself a normal size pillow so this was annoying. Sheets were soft but not the super soft kind. Manageable and moderately comfortable still. We ordered some food from the "Restaurant" downstairs. Pick-up only, NO ROOM SERVICE. There were only about 10 things on the menu in total so I am hesitant to call it a restaurant but the tuna sandwich I had was actually pretty good and a HUGE portion! My companion had a burger they said was OK. All in all, a decent place to stop if YOU HAVE TO STOP. read more

The buffet wasnt ready so we ordered off the munu. I suggest ordering something other than a steak. Everything else we had was really outstanding. The salad bar had a pasta salad that made me want to get a take out container full to go. Perhaps next time..... Our waitress was super super nice and attentive. My father in Law wanted me to give me an Indian Casino experience. He chose the Sky City Casino. When you enter the lobby, you will notice right away cigarette smoke. It as tons of slot machines, which eat your money and a big bingo room. We at the restaurant in the far back on the right. That night they had an Italian buffet, which was not very Italian besides offering overcooked Spaghetti. I loaded my first plate with a bit of everything they offered. Every single dish was pretty dry and overcooked and close to uneatable. They have a ok basic salad bar and a choice of different desert cakes. The carote cake was actually pretty good. (that is the one star). PS: Out of State visitors get discounts. read more
