We could imagine John Wayne being right at home here. Loved the decor in our room and the bed was very comfortable. Learning about some of the history of this property and surrounding areas from Cowboy Bob was an added bonus. Fishing and wine on the bridge - one of the many unique amenities at Whiskey Belle. Fishing was great. The bridge has been converted into a rustic outdoor dining area complete with a camp fire. The resident canines "Mist" and "Double Shot" were so friendly and we enjoyed watching them play. Breakfast was to notch and delicious, made with love and fresh ingredients. Our favorites were the homemade quiche and the palisades peach jam. We actually felt as though we were visiting with friends. Bob & Alana were the perfect hosts from our first contact with them to our wave's goodbye. We will definitely be coming back to the Whiskey Belle...hopefully very soon! This is a family campground that is also 420 friendly. Gorgeous property with lots of nonstop beauty right across the street from the Poudre river. Lots of birds, chipmunks & rabbits. I can't wait to go back! They have tent spaces and cabins and RV spots. June was a great host and you can tell she really puts her all into making sure her guests enjoy their stay. This was our first family camping vacation in our RV and we just can't say enough good things about this campground. There is a playground for young kids right next to a common area that has benches surrounding a giant fire pit. At night time there are laser lights that display beautiful lights onto the side of the canyon that is right there in the campgrounds. We were able to walk across the 2 lane Poudre Canyon Highway and followed a trail right down to the beautiful river. Plenty of hiking trails within the campground too. Do yourself a favor and visit this beautiful place.

Lovely expanses of greenery and water. Fairly walkable, depending on your physical abilities. Several people went for runs in the morning so the surrounding terrain seemed safe. Bathrooms and showers were well-maintained. I didn't get a chance to check out the lodge rooms, but the event spaces were nice. I really liked the food that was served at the main restaurant. This review is specifically for our experience at The Tavern…read more We came in with a large group the Saturday of Labor Day weekend while we were camping nearby at Bellaire Lake Campground. Part of our party (two adults and four kids) went ahead of us as we had dogs and needed a place where the dogs could be with us. Luckily, The Tavern was accommodating to that and we could sit with them on the patio. Since they got there ahead of us, their experience seemed to go smoothly. The rest of us (four adults, two teens, and a five year old) got our orders in and were warned that the kitchen was backed up and it would be a while for our food. And it was a while, about an hour or so. Aside from the youngest who was desperately hungry for her pizza, we managed fine. The drinks were delicious enough to tide us over: I got their take on an old fashioned, and my friend got a mule after someone in line recommended it to me. She said it was the best mule she has had at a bar in ages. The food was good and very decently priced. I got the caesar salad and a personal pizza and enjoyed both. It was good to not pay exorbitant prices in an area where options for restaurants are limited. It was a perfect day to chill out on the patio, and we also got the pleasure of the feral kittens who came to visit. After the long wait for food, we were anxious to get back to our campsite and settle in for the evening. Everything has to be ordered at the bar, and tabs need to be closed out there as well. This is where the waiting game continued, and where it became very clear they were not prepared for the holiday weekend rush. The woman who had taken our orders at the bar was in the back managing things in the kitchen, and the man at the bar was also busy being a sound tech for the musician that came in. There was another guy standing behind the bar doing absolutely nothing. It seemed he worked there, but only at the direction at the other bartender-sound tech. Which wouldn't have been a big deal if the line weren't taking up the bulk of the space in the small indoor dining area. It took at least half an hour if not longer to be in that line just to close our tab. When we finally departed, between choosing food, placing orders, waiting for food, and then waiting to close tabs, we had been there almost two and a half hours. It is very apparent that this is a well-loved local joint based on the interactions I had, the custom Yeti pints they had for customers, and regulars going behind the bar to pour their own pints. The atmosphere was great, and I love that. As I mentioned, restaurant options are limited, so beggars can't be choosers for our one night where we chose to dine out rather than cook at camp. But knowing how busy holiday weekends are, I was left disappointed but how things were being managed. I'd check this place out again on a calmer night or later in the evening for drinks, but definitely skipping the rush hours.

It's a little expensive at $30 a night. I mean, I don't know what happened to the Colorado I grew up in, but that's another thing. The bathrooms were clean and well maintained in the sites were clean as well. It's walking distance to the lake, which is great you can see trout jumping in the sun all day long my son and my husband caught some fish and we enjoyed a beautiful three days there.

I had been to this park many, many moons ago. It was nice but since then - WOW!…read more All "neighborhoods" are well maintained and clean. The bathrooms sparkle despite being poop pits. They are cleaned many times a day. We found people are respectful and keep their dogs under control. They also have lockers at each site to put food in. There is a nice loop trail with an option to go a little further. If you do the short loop, be careful you don't miss the hard turn about 100 degrees to the left to head back to camp at the wooden sign on the trail. Enjoy!

We have been going to Mountain Park for 25 years. The new Company managing the Park is the worst…read morethe Park has ever seen. We never saw a bathroom or showers cleaned in the 6 days we were there. Out of order showers, the ones that did work offered only cold water. The former Management Company was great. These new camp hosts never even raked or cleaned a site the entire time. It is shameful that this Company was awarded this contract. Pay no attention to reviews before this year, it used to be managed amazingly but in 2025 they awarded the job to a Company that does nothing.
