Great Northside location Small store but good selection, has BIG, Sky King, Brothers, cutting Edge (Jake's)x heavy brand. It's. Buy one get one store year round so make sure to get two items. Staff is friendly and knowledgable. They were able to help us pick out just what we needed both large Stuff and smaller family friendly stuff. I'd recommend it. read more

On Friday nights before every Tech home football game in 2011, Central Park in Atlantic Station becomes a giant pep rally for the Yellow Jackets. I passed by the first Tech Town on September 16 before our game against Kansas, but didn't really get the full experience until this past Friday before our game versus Maryland. It was more fun than I expected and the best part of all: it was free. The Ramblin' Wreck was there as well as a ginormous inflatable Buzz, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jacket Marching Band, Buzz himself, cheerleaders, dance team, Georgia Tech twirlers, and former Jacket athletes. Athletes in attendance included former football players Randy and Kelley Rhino, Sean Bedford, and Felipe Claybrooks. Each was interviewed by the MC and spoke to the crowd over the mike. I spent a few minutes talking to Sean Bedford and his mom. Bedford, an aerospace engineering grad and First Team All-ACC selection, is best known for helping Tech win the 2009 ACC title. He let me check out his awesome conference championship ring. The women's basketball team was also at the fan fest, signing autographs and posing for photos. Tailgaters Alley, one of the best stores to find Georgia Tech merchandise, had several tents set up, selling everything from clothing to car accessories. There were other various tents set up specifically for the event, including one that sold beer and food. Tech football highlights played non-stop on a giant projection screen (the same one Atlantic Station uses for its movie nights). Two stages were set up and a couple bands played. One was a bluegrass band and the other was a rock band. Throughout the night, the MC would give away all sorts of free Tech gear, mostly t-shirts. The highlights of the night were the cheerleading and dance routines, Buzz, and the fireworks. The fireworks went off at 9:30pm sharp. The Georgia Tech and Atlantic Station web sites say the Friday Night Fan Fests run from 6pm to 10pm, but the action this past Friday really did not start until 7pm. Tech Town also runs Saturdays of the home football games. Fans attending the game can park their vehicles (RVs included) in Atlantic Station for $10 and take an air-conditioned shuttle to and from the stadium. Also, if you show your football tickets to many of the restaurants and retailers in Atlantic Station, you can get discounts. Tech is able to partner with a neighboring community to develop more buzz and exposure for the school and its athletic programs, and hopefully gain new fans along the way. Atlantic Station is able to add another fun, family-friendly event to it's lineup and generate more business for the development. While it was a good event, I did see some areas that could have been improved upon. I think Tech and/or Atlantic Station could have done a better job communicating to the public exactly what to expect at the fan fest. A good example is the former athletes that attended the event -- I don't think there was any announcement that these guys were going to be there. If there was such an announcement, I'm sure the turnout would have been better. Only two home games remain on the schedule which means only two more Friday Night Fan Fests. They will take place on October 28 (before the 10/29 game vs. Clemson) and November 25 (before the 11/26 game vs. UGA). Go Jackets!

If you want to do some shopping for some food or maybe just some shopping for a bite to eat, then this is your spot. You'll come into the market but you have to worry about parking because it's not free but if you're in the city you already know that. They have a validation for parking system there so you can make sure you use that, which is right by the door. There's also other places to park, which is street parking, that you could use your park mobile app as well if you'd prefer to do that or if the parking lot is full. This market has tons of items and things and anything you could think of for the most part. If you are feeling steak or Caribbean food then this is your spot to go to. If you just want some French fries or some oxtail then this is going to be a great place for it as well. There's a myriad of different stalls that you can buy food at that are ready. There's also places that you can actually buy fresh meat and seafood to cook at home. If you're trying to figure out where to go for some steaks or some oxtails or shrimp, you should check this out for sure. So overall I would say this is definitely a spot you should for sure try if you're trying to try some new dishes or if you want to buy some food to make at home. If you're trying to find something that's similar to an Asian market, for example, something off Buford Highway, this would be a good spot to check out. Picking up a couple of steaks and some shrimp is easy work for a spot like this. I actually would probably go for a holiday situation to where I was buying meat to put on the grill. If you don't want to get locked into something like Publix, this is a good spot so just keep that in mind.

Once I finished my checkup and headed back downstairs, I was so excited to see two tables full of some beautifulllll produce. I was a bit confused at first as to the process, but one of the team members took the time to explain the process quickly and it all made sense. They offer a long sheet of paper that allows you to choose produce in single-serving sizes, prepared packages and more. The offerings seem to vary based on the day, but the offering for the day included over two dozen options! I was tempted to go overboard but ended up going with: a single-serving size of bell peppers (which = 2 huge peppers), a single-serving size of mini cucumbers (5 in a bag) and a 5-variety fruit bag where I chose: peaches, cherries, kiwis, pink lady apples and barlett pears. In total I spent $32 with tax and WOW - did I get my moneys worth. The produce was plentiful, delicious and high-quality. I was so excited to get home to eat them and find different ways to use them. This is truly a wonderful pop-up to support and now that I know where and when to find them, you can bet that I'll be relying on them for my produce needs!

I normally have nothing but good things to say about SKF. This place has been my go to for the past 5 or 6 years. Unfortunately, after today I will not be back. When I check out I have a rough idea of what I have spent. I try to keep it around $500, but always go over a bit. My total this time was $872.22. I was shocked that I was off that much. I reviewed my receipt with the lady checking me out and pointed out that I was not receiving the advertised discounts particularly on one product. She told me "their system didn't reflect the discount on the receipt, but it was there." This didn't make sense to me. I should have questioned further, but I was holding up the line. Once I got home I reviewed further and saw that I was way over charged. I can't help but believe this was intentional. The display screen shows discounts, but the printed receipt does not and that's what actually is paid. read more

It's a great location, convenient on my ride home from work and I have shopped here a few times to pick up some great deals on 200 - 500 gram cakes for my fireworks shows at church. The one finale set that I want though, seems to be the hardest to get, which is frustrating. However, once I am able to get that on a consistent basis, there will be no need to shop at any other store, because the personnel is great, the store is very clean and like stated they have some great deals! read more
