But the result was much more, the variety of flowers, shrubs and trees, (some bearing berries for birds) is the envy of the entire neighborhood. The plants have matured into a planned "painting" of contrasting foliage. My experience is that money spent outside of the house goes further than remodel money spent inside...maybe it is the "alive" thing that plants have. Now that my husband and I, the owners, moved in, we wanted a space that felt "finished", cozy and a place where we would like to hang out. Diana, the owner of Trio Landscaping, was excellent to work with. She spent a lot of time getting a good understanding of our budget and what we wanted before she created a plan and sent it to us. We had several zoom calls discussing the plan and making minor revisions to ensure it met our needs. Her design is spot on for our space. We were out of town the week the construction took place and came back to a completely new backyard! It has transformed the way we spend time in the back yard - hanging out with friends, grilling and just reading and relaxing. I now have a backyard I am proud to show off. We had a kidney-shaped swimming pool…read moreof decent size and a pond close to it in our back yard surrounded by different structures, including paths, concrete patio, lawn, a gravel covered hilly area. We contracted Dan to replace the pool and the pond with a new large patio in the center of the yard. He and his team did an amazing transformational job.   The owner, Dan, was very pleasant, effective, responsive, and reliable. During the project we had to make some changes on the design, he was very reasonable with price adjustment without giving us any headaches. During the construction, he visited regularly on site.  After job completion, when we notified him about a few spots of grass that died he immediately brought his crew back to check the irrigation system and replaced the dead grass without hassle or additional cost.   We have compared the cost with other company's offers; Myhra Design Group is competitive and very reasonable. They offered a service that is personalized with high-quality in design, custom relationship, and craftsmanship.

In any case, ~20 years ago my son and I terraced the slope & garden on the East side of my house and installed timber retaining walls. Despite the fact that I used treated lumber the once pristine barriers had begun to deteriorate. I also had started but never finished several other projects. The patio and backyard were getting shabby and overgrown. It was time for a change. Anyone who may have read some of my previous reviews knows about my somewhat recent physical challenges. I'm not exactly a Spring chicken either. A professional job was in order. In addition to choosing Inspired I selected bluestone rock to replace the rotting timbers. The resulting walls and edging look great and the old beams were hauled away. Finished work included river rock and mulch. Gustavo partners with his father and brother to schlep, prepare, install and clean up. Gus was personable and I found him easy to work with. Everything was completed on time and according to neighbors looks: "amazing." Bluestone is not inexpensive. At first I was hesitant to spend so much, especially since I had done much work myself. But I think that in the long run the landscaping/hardscaping will more than pay for itself in providing years of entertaining and peaceful contemplation. Not to mention that it will likely raise the value of my home. If I have any major landscaping additions, I won't hesitate to contact Gus and his crew. Together they are effective, efficient, courteous and meticulous.

Gus was horrible to work with, we called him in may of 2020 to get a quote, he originally scheduled…read moreus in July, then pushed it back further and further until it was winter! He said "you are the first on our list next spring" spring comes around and he continues to push us back further and further. May 1st then end of may then end of June. I get an email at the start of June saying maybe Fall of 2021!!!! That is over a year and a half Gus! I understand being busy but this was just disrespectful to my time. Overall, completely unreliable and unresponsive.

Stone Arch Landscapes and Alex completed a project for me in 2022, and within a couple of months…read morethe retaining wall started leaning, and the pavers dropped along the wall. This wall is now out of plumb by 3-1/2" over a 4'-0" area, so out of plumb by almost 1 inch per foot. The pavers have large 1/2" plus gaps in this area, and there is concern that this wall is going to fail, and will fall. Alex has been notified numerous times each year about this issue, and he has refused to respond or answer my calls, texts or emails, he is ignoring the problem. When looking back, Alex failed to acquire a permit or to notify the city, which is required with any wall that is over 4'-0" in height, and he did not complete an engineering review which is also a requirement for walls of this height. Because of the lack of response from Alex and his refusal to warrant his work, I am forced to get quotes to repair and will need to pursue legal means to resolve the issue. Beware.

Sunday I went to the Waterville Fire Department Open House, not my town but.... The town is…read morebuilding a new fire station and BKV had a rep present for questions, hey thanks. A few townspeople had questions about the building, time frame of when the build would happen and who's doing the building? The BKV rep was well versed in all his information as he discussed the new station and could list off several metro stations the company has built. As someone not impacted by this department move in any form I found his knowledge helpful and appreciated that BKV basically has a portfolio of fire station builds. He also wasn't aggressive w his knowledge; i.e. just throwing random facts out there, unsolicited. He gave the information when towns people inquired, plus he was just among the fire fighters, despite his monogrammed vest, I didn't even know he wasn't one of them until someone asked who was building this and are they going to answer questions? He spoke up. He also had a simple and great explanation for what BKV stood for. Thanks BKV for having a friendly & approachable rep present to represent the services you will be providing.
