I selected Inspired Landscaping based on Kara's previous very positive review. I have no 2nd thoughts (well, maybe the overall cost but in the end I think it will prove to be of good value). In any case, ~20 years ago my son and I terraced the slope & garden on the East side of my house and installed timber retaining walls. Despite the fact that I used treated lumber the once pristine barriers had begun to deteriorate. I also had started but never finished several other projects. The patio and backyard were getting shabby and overgrown. It was time for a change. Anyone who may have read some of my previous reviews knows about my somewhat recent physical challenges. I'm not exactly a Spring chicken either. A professional job was in order. In addition to choosing Inspired I selected bluestone rock to replace the rotting timbers. The resulting walls and edging look great and the old beams were hauled away. Finished work included river rock and mulch. Gustavo partners with his father and brother to schlep, prepare, install and clean up. Gus was personable and I found him easy to work with. Everything was completed on time and according to neighbors looks: "amazing." Bluestone is not inexpensive. At first I was hesitant to spend so much, especially since I had done much work myself. But I think that in the long run the landscaping/hardscaping will more than pay for itself in providing years of entertaining and peaceful contemplation. Not to mention that it will likely raise the value of my home. If I have any major landscaping additions, I won't hesitate to contact Gus and his crew. Gus was horrible to work with, we called him in may of 2020 to get a quote, he originally scheduled us in July, then pushed it back further and further until it was winter! He said "you are the first on our list next spring" spring comes around and he continues to push us back further and further. May 1st then end of may then end of June. I get an email at the start of June saying maybe Fall of 2021!!!! That is over a year and a half Gus! I understand being busy but this was just disrespectful to my time. A 105 year old house is the gift that just keeps giving when it comes to home projects. We realized the hard way that we needed to add sloping to our landscaping to stop water from getting into the basement. I used Yelp Request a Quote, and Gustavo (Gus) of Inspired Landscaping replied promptly. Gus also reassured me in his message that he was following safety guidelines and would check out our property with a mask on and with distancing. In no time, we arranged a meeting within the week, and he texted me with updates. I really appreciated that Gus is a hands-on business owner. He was my main point of contact, a very responsive one at that, and he was the one doing all of the skilled labor. He came by, and gave us the most reasonable quote for adding dirt sloping, plastic, edging, and window wells around the perimeter of our home. He started and complete the project ahead of schedule, and did a perfect job. Our recently purchased home needed several outdoor improvements. We received beautiful, detailed and methodical workmanship by Gus and Placido at Inspired Landscaping! With a walkout basement, both side-yards are sloped and had poor water drainage, until Inspired Landscaping remedied them with regrading, drainage tiles, and natural stone terraced gardens and steps, plus new rock around the entire foundation. We love how it all looks and functions! They also added a stunning curved front walk and steps from scratch, on our N facing sloped yard. Our neighbors are envious and approaching our front door will now be safer than walking up the driveway! Additionally, our 85' retaining wall between our neighbors house and ours was ready to collapse. Gus replaced it with a gorgeous mix of colored and mottled blocks, adding an S-shaped raised garden in front of the wall. They blend together seamlessly. We cannot recommend this crew enough! We received other comparable bids but Gus was the only designer who discussed plants for shade vs sun, and the whole picture of natural elements with us. He really listened to us, even as our ideas evolved, and followed the contours of the land while doing meticulous work! We are over the moon pleased that we chose Inspired Landscaping! read more

We have bought a house where the previous owners had completely neglected the landscaping. It was too overwhelming for us, so we called around. Gus came out and gave us an estimate. Talking to him, it was apparent he was thoroughly knowledgable in landscaping. He gave us a quote that was significantly more reasonable than the other quotes we got. We had Gus remove all of the rocks around the flower beds (which were overgrown with a jungle of weeds, so not an easy task), remove multiple dead shrubs, redo the borders, replace weed mat and mulch. We also had Gus put in a small patio in the front of the house. Gus was very responsive to texts and calls and communicated very efficiently. The landscaping and patio look fabulous! I absolutely love how fresh and maintained everything looks. The pavers were tedious, but they look perfect. Not a stone out of place. Gus was so friendly and polite. Gus completely redid our entire backyard. He replaced a significant retaining wall, removed trees, buried a drain pipe, put in a patio, built stairs and installed a new fence, and then sodded! It looks beautiful and we couldn't be happier. Gus is very communicative and responded to all of our questions in a timely manner. I've worked with many landscaping and other trades contractors. Gustavo and Inspired Landscaping were fantastic!. Gustavo was easy to work with, his prices were fair, and the quality of his effort and attention to detail produced great results for us. Inspired Landscaping worked on a project for us in late 2019 to remove a kids play area and resod/reseed. They also extended our patio to match, installed a pit and french drain for water control, and built several boulder walls to control water flow as well as for new planting and mulch areas around trees where grass never thrived. Gustavo reviewed my project, consulted with me on ideas, and delivered. There were a few hiccups along the way (show me a construction project without them), but Gustavo handled them with professionalism, a get-it-right attitude, and creative solutions. The measure of a person and company is how they react when things don't go perfectly, and Gustavo and team showed they have that in spades (no pun intended).
