We did the Magic Forest part of the park first. On many rides they had 1 person managing 2 rides, so there was sometimes a wait. It definitely seems a bit older but is kept up. The dino forest was very well done and updated. It is a walk through, and you can also participate in an archeological dig. They also had an updated café, but it was not open. They also do a scavenger hunt where the kids win a prize at the end.

We typically go up to Rob and Deb's in Glens Falls but Dan's is closer. What a disappointment. I'm not sure if it was Dan that served us or he had just found the most miserable, rude " I don't want to be here." staff member out there, because that is what we got. He was sullen, snippy, rude and actually seemed like he resented us being there. Huge turn off. We ordered 3 small ice creams, and they were indeed small! Definitely not reflective of the price, which was more indicative of a larger size. I was disappointed, but the snippy service we had received prior to actually getting the ice cream left a yucky taste anyway. We will not be going back, and will instead continue to drive to an alternative. Maybe Guptil's, which is also nearby. These days, with so many other options, service and being polite to people is key. An older couple arrived shortly after us and he was equally rude to them. The one star is because we did actually get ice cream. I'd give zero stars for service.

A new nature preserve owned by Saratoga PLAN that features miles of marked hiking trails. The…read moretrail starts out on Homestead Rd but can also be accessed from the nearby Wilton Wildlife Preserve trails off of Preserve Way and also from the Nature Conservancy trails off of Ruggles Rd. The three trail systems connect unofficially for now but work is being done to make the connecting trails official and have them marked and maintained. Care of the Coldbrook Preserve is done by several volunteer stewards and additional help is always desired. Contact Saratoga PLAN if interested in helping out here or contact me as I'm one of the Stewards of this preserve. The trails are all what I would classify as easy terrain and family friendly. Most of the trails are flat and with a few hills and minor stream crossings. Walk way bridges are planned to span the water but for now are crossible with the primitive structures already in place. An endangered species of turtle inhabits some of the wetlands the trails go through and there are benches along the trails to allow visitors places to rest and quietly observe the wildlife we share this area with. Please carry out all trash you bring in here. There are also several geocaches placed throughout the preserve and adjacent preserves so there is always more fun for all to enjoy this gift of nature.

There is a machine to scan your QR code to obtain your lift card (for first time skiers), which is super easy to use. There is a ticket booth open if you run into any other problems. The rental shop is in a separate building on the other side of the ticket booth/restaurant. I stayed on the bunny hill for the entire day. I was told that this bunny hill is a lot more steeper than other mountains, but it's the only way to get better right? Overall a great time and I left uninjured. Pricing: One of the cheaper ones in the area. I took a college discount so it was $20 less (regular pricing for the entire day is $89). Rental packages costed $60. If you're a beginner like myself and only plan on sticking to the bunny hill, I recommend you booking the learning area instead ($35 for 4 hours).

We went to West Mountain for a school trip and we had such a great time. It was a great family…read moremountain that accommodated to our large group size. One night the mountain provided us a BBQ dinner with s'mores while tubing. The kids had a blast. What we were most impressed with was how a staff member was able to adjust my sons ski lesson. He is 4 but an intermediate level skier and was originally put into a beginner level. They were able to give him his own instructor. Looking forward to the next time.

Had an outstanding day on the water with Captain Frank from Saratoga Fishing Charters and Boat…read moreTours. From the moment we launched, Captain Frank put us on fish and kept us on them all day. We caught largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, rock bass, and pickerel, including several impressive fish. The highlight for me was landing the largest freshwater fish I've ever caught, a largemouth bass that was approximately 5 pounds. I actually thought I had snagged a stump because it wouldn't budge. I was convinced I was about to snap my rod trying to free it, only to discover the "stump" was a giant bass. After an incredible fight, we got it into the boat, and it was a memory I'll never forget. Captain Frank was knowledgeable, patient, professional, and clearly knows these waters inside and out. If you're looking for a fun day on the lake and want to catch quality fish, I highly recommend booking a trip with him. Great fishing, great stories, and great memories with my brother. We'll definitely be back!

The course is creative and none of the holes are banked the same. It's great for younger children also, because it is not too complex. Not sure if the lights automatically turn off at 8:55 pm, but it would be useful to have them on until your golfers complete the course. We had to use our flashlights for hole 17 and 18. Loved the decor and enjoyed the Saratogian history. If you're visiting, this is a great way to have a crash course in local history. There is an overlook to the waterfall near hole 8/9 so if you need a break before the back 9, you've got it! Some of the pole stands could use some assistance with cleaning (have some kind of moss on some of them, specifically hole 7 stand).

One got cookies and cream and the other also got coffee. We sat in the shade at the picnic tables they have available. They have a chalkboard wall where you can write messages if you want to. That mini golf looked fun. Nice quick stop on a hot day!
