It was awful. We had to break our lease early because we had issues with mice and they never did anything. We called multiple times to have them fix it and they would barley come in and do anything. We found actual holes and they refused to patch them. Not to mention we have to get a new couch because mice dig into our couch. Maintenance will laugh in your face about your apartment issues, and have a horrible attitude when coming to fix it. Or they will not come at all and say they did. They will tell you they were there today even if you were home all day. The leasing office is nice though. But even they didn't help. So happy to get out of this place. My friend who lives in these apartments is having issues as well, and has been waiting for them to come switch her air filter, and they haven't here is a picture. It is great to have an opportunity where residents can participate virtually to earn points adding up to gift cards of multiple choices. Well here at Skylark the faucet water is cloudy and has visible contaminates. I would like to use my points to temporarily solve a problem that is a community issue. However I have contacted Ms. C. White - Skylark management a total of 5 calls with messages and 1 email. If there is anyone within the same community and aware of whom is directly superior to Ms. White please respond- forcibly my next option is a formal complaint via HR. Five outreaches with zero response and/or follow up that I have been made aware of is unprofessional and to take my points without production of a gift card is false advertisement and robbery. 2/4/21 updated 1 star increased to 2 Following Yelp post another member of management reached out to followed up. Moved here July 2023. The neighborhood was quiet and clean so I thought i made out. I also thought i did a good walk though of the apartment, I was wrong about that.. The day i moved in, i seen My door frame is bent, looking like the door has been kicked in before. Making me have to pull the door hard to lock it. By the first week the radiator busted and got water on all my sheets and comforters in the closet next to it. Took them 3 days to bring something to dry the carpet. The bathroom tub do not stop leaking. The floors and walls are sooo think and squeaky here. I hear everything my upstairs neighbors do and its not even their fault. its literally these thin floors. We have ROACHES and SPIDERS. as soon as i moved in, like the next day i killed 4. Over the months they pop up everywhere down to my dressers. I dont even cook like that and they still make appearances in the kitchen. The washer is small and dont wash. The dryer do not dry. I still live here now but im for sure about to move. read more

Now that we don't live here anymore, I feel like I can leave a review. We had multiple issues with the A/C in our unit. Honestly it should have been replaced, but they just charged it 3 times within one summer instead. Ceiling leaks were just painted over, but not fixed. There was also a huge pothole right in one of the main entrances, which also happened to be directly infront of where maintenance was home to(should've told us everything we needed to know). Our shower pipe was loose, we put in a request. They put a new showerHEAD on and called it a day. The dishwasher was leaking, put in a request. They came out and instead of actually fixing the problem, just shoved some crap in there and called it fixed. We had a mouse, they forgot to put us on the exterminator list. So an extra week goes by of having a mouse, the exterminator finally comes, he put something behind the fridge to poison the mouse(if they would eat it), but nothing else. We requested a parking space, it took 3 months. We also moved out November 1st, 2021. It is May 30th, 2022 and when we rode past to see a friend who lived in the neighborhood the sign still has not been taken down. My absolute favorite though would be the assistant property manager, Janarra. We hope by this point she's been fired considering she was a huge contributing factor for us and two other apartments in the building to move out. She ALWAYS had an attitude for no reason. The icing on the cake though is when we got to our new apartment and our security deposit came in the mail, it was wrong. They had charged us for an extra day of rent. Like I said, our lease ended November 1st, they charged us 2 days of November rent. We originally thought we had November 2nd actually. And when we found out we didn't, we scrambled and worked until the last second we had(which was when the leasing office closed on the first, not midnight on the 2nd) getting everything out. So I called up and low and behold Janarra answers. Our lease was no longer showing in the portal anymore, but I knew it said the 1st because of our having to rush. I told her we were charged two days of rent for November and we couldn't see the lease anymore in the portal. She said she was pulling it up. Then she said she checked and it ended on the 2nd. I figured oh well and we hung up. Turns out my boyfriend had a copy of the lease on his phone. In big letters right near the top of the page 'Lease ends: November 1st, 2021'. At this point, I had had it with her. I sent the lease to her in an email and told her to prorate the refund. All she could reply with was that it was out of her hands and she would have to escalate it to corporate at that point. Not even an apology for blatantly lying. Still haven't seen the refund 7 months later. Was hoping to post once that situation was resolved, but it seems it never will be. read more

I wish I would've read more reviews prior to moving into skylark pointe. I have lived here for 3 weeks and the air conditioning has been broken since I have moved in. It is 85 degrees (uninhabitable) during the day and it took them a week and a half to come to my unit. They replaced the AC unit yesterday and it still does not work. The dishwasher doesn't even remotely work and they missed broken cabinets somehow during their pre move-in walk. I have requested to move to a different unit but honestly if I could I would like to leave morgan properties completely. I am paying rent for somewhere I can't even stay 75 percent of each day until the sun goes down. Their leasing agents are more than kind but their maintenance could not be any worse. My sister and I lived here for two and a half years and moved out at the end of August 2011. For the most part, our apartment was nice and cozy and the rent was cheaper than most other 2 bedroom apartments in the area. My favorite part was that the washer and dryer were in our apartment and we didn't have to go to a shared washer/dryer with everyone else in the building or even worse, a laundromat. We had several issues arise: the washer leaked, the toilet clogged and the heat/ac unit broke. All were fixed by the maintenance department, but not always in a timely manner. Sometimes they came while we were out and left a note saying it was fixed, but then we would find out that nothing had been done. Of course the air conditioner broke during the hottest days in the summer and it was miserable. Air conditioning is not a high priority, so we were not put at the top of the list. However, a clogged toilet (when it is the only toilet) is a high priority and we were able to get that fixed pretty quickly. The washing machine leaked and we received a note that it was fixed, but the next time we used it, there was water everywhere. Maintenance eventually just gave us a new one. When we first moved in, the leasing office had regular office hours and pool hours, but then as time went on, they cut back on pool hours and even closed the office on some mornings making it hard to pick up large packages that were delivered to the office. When we moved out, we cleared the place of all our belongings and when we had first signed up, we were told that we would receive our deposit back. We never saw the money again and we left the place almost immaculate. read more

Currently live here and would not recommend this place to anyone. The customer service, and maintenance staff are all horrible. Maintenance will take days to address an issue and when they do address it, it's never properly fix so you'll end up calling again for the same issues. The apartment is mice infected. Been dealing with mice since the sign of my lease. And when you report it they have no care to resolve the issue. My daughter move almost three weeks ago. The apartment was suppose to be ready the 14th. She moved in 24th still wasn't ready. Bugs in the apartment, tub repair, nails coming up through carpet, and peeling paint. It's still not resolved. The people are nice to you until they get your money. They are rude on the phone refuse to talk with me ( I have a background in real-estate) and my daughter gave them permission to speak with me. They came into my daughter's apartment when she was sleeping unannounced to see about a repair that they were suppose to give her noticed when they were coming. This is against Maryland law. The head property manager told my daughter that they would refund her money and she can leave. This is no way to treat tenants. It's now month and just the same. Repairs that were not completed. If it was tub being caulked, only did part of tub. Bad grout and mold still there. Was told best they could do. Maybe they should send repair people to Home Depot seminars. They are free during nights and weekends. And Kim B if you really exist we are still waiting to hear from your people. Soon my people will contact you. Morgan Properties are what we call "slumlords" in the north.maybe the family that own these properties should live in them instead of their mansions in Pa. or in the Midwest wherever they come from. Skylark Pointe Apartment Homes is located right off of 695 and Hartford Road. There are multiple shopping centers nearby, as well as restaurants, gas stations, schools, and senior/recreation centers. My husband and I lived here from 2015 to 2017. We made some very intentional and preemptive choices in terms of where our apartment building was located, how many bedrooms we wanted, and selecting a renovated unit. Our choices helped us to avoid some of the common issues that were cited in the reviews that we read. The reviews that we read repeatedly mentioned pest and maintenance issues. In retrospect, our decision to live farther away from the wooded areas and select a newly renovated place with new appliances really cut down on the amount of issues that we experienced while living at this complex. Despite paying for a renovated apartment, we did notice that the bathroom and washer/dryer unit were not updated. Additionally, the washing machine literally had mold in it and the dryer took two cycles to dry clothing. We also had issues with the maintenance department's responses to a fruit fly infestation, mice issues, and a leaking refrigerator. The aforementioned issues were not a result of any lack of cleanliness on our part, but rather issues with gaping holes behind the washer that allowed pests in from neighboring apartments. We eventually had to get Baltimore County involved in order to resolve the issue. When responding to the fruit fly issue, instead of spraying for fruit flies, the maintenance staff claimed that they did not see any flies. After responding to the refrigerator leak, the maintenance staff left our refrigerator unplugged leaving us to guess whether or not our food had expired during the work day. Generally-speaking, the complex was pretty quiet, but we did have some issues with our neighbors downstairs who got a new surround sound system shortly before we moved out. Their system literally caused our walls to shake. This issue was quickly resolved after letting the front office know. There were several water main breaks while we lived at Skylark Pointe and on multiple occasions we were left to shower and brush our teeth at the community center because we were without water. I give Skylark Pointe three stars based on our personal experience, however I recognize that our experience may have been drastically different had we not have been so selective in choosing specific features such as an apartment building away from wooded areas. The staff in the front office were generally friendly. As far as apartment complexes go, this is definitely not the worst, but it's also not without its issues. read more

Moved in here a month ago and I absolutely love it! I appreciate being able to pay rent and request maintenance online. The other morning the leasing office handed out the cutest little breakfast bag while I was heading out to work. There's going to be a number of other events this month for resident appreciation month. The whole lease and move in process was a breeze. I have lived here for 20 years and maintenance has only gotten worse. It seems to take 5-7 days to get anything fixed even without snow as an excuse. Sometimes having to put multiple requests in since no one ever contacts you regarding the issue. The staff are polite but all you get is an excuse why something can't be done. Not having a washer work for a week is real inconvenient on top of no kitchen light and the ice maker not working. They never seem to be properly staffed to get work done in the 48-72 hours they say they allow. On top of all this there is never any incentive to long time renters as rent continues to increase each year. Don't let the nice looking outside fool you about the inside. Talking to staff will not get anything accomplished any sooner. read more

First, the accommodations are ok for the money, but the maintenance and management fell short in so many ways. Maintenance: - Comes out for the same problem over and over and not fix it, but report that it was fixed - Will sometimes not leave a note that they were in the apt, but things were moved around. My husband and I have lived at Skylark Point for over 2 years. We chose the complex for its affordability and location, but the negatives quickly started adding up. "Maintenance" here is a joke. They routinely enter our home without notice and without valid reason. We are never given an explanation or work order. Most of the time we only figure out someone has been in our apartment when things are clearly disheveled or out of place. I have voiced concern about this to the office multiple times, and have requested that I am notified before anyone enters for any reason. They will occasionally let me know AFTER the fact, but always try to justify it by claiming an "emergency situation." In the span of two weeks, maintenance entered our apartment for a "heating emergency" five different times (we were only notified once.) They claimed it was fixed several times but we continued to notice someone had been in our home. One of the times was at 9:30 in the morning on a Saturday. After a single knock on the door, someone entered and came into my bedroom as I had been sleeping. He didn't even explain why he was there. Not ok. During the course of this so-called maintenance, we were given a small space heater to use until the problem was resolved. Maintenance took it upon themselves to enter our home not a week later and RUMMAGED AROUND looking for it. I personally do not feel comfortable with strangers coming into my home and going through my things without my knowledge, especially when I have pets and valuables to think about. The final straw came when we were without hot water one Monday morning. My husband called the office that same day to inquire about the issue and was told it was fixed and there would be no further problems. Friday of that same week, I noticed that maintenance had been in our apartment that day. I asked the office about the reason for this and was told that they came in due to an emergency request we submitted for service. We had never submitted a service request and I have a hard time believing four days after the fact would be considered an emergency service. The communication is absolutely atrocious. The office staff are nasty and anything but helpful. I've had enough and we will be terminating our lease. If you do not care about privacy or consideration, Skylark may be the place for you. I have lived at skylark apartments since July, and I have nothing but good things to say. I live in a first floor apartment facing the woods, and I have never had any bugs other than the occasional spider, centipede or cricket. There are no mice, and nothing else to be seen that would cause worry. My neighbors are all pleasant, not loud at all, and we all keep to ourselves. The leasing office is super professional, maintenance is quick turn around, and I can submit my requests online and taken care of next day. Everyone experience is different, but mine has been nothing but pleasant, and i made it a point to wait months to submit a review to make sure I had the full effect. read more

I do not Recommend living in Skylark pointe Apartments. Their maintenance is absolutely terrible. I just came home and my entire floor is soaking wet from my dining room to my bathroom it is soaking wet. I had requested that maintenance fix my leaky washing machine 6 to 8 months ago and I have not had any response and also my dryer has been making squeaky noises for the exact same timeframe from high to medium pitch. Pros: -Located appox 1 mile from I-695 (which makes my commute a breeze) -Low-traffic area! -Old, but clean -Close to grocery stores, restaurants, parks and gas stations -Has two swimming pools -Has a fitness center -Lots of sidewalks and trees, which make it feel "homey" and less apartment-like -Very clean neighborhood with decent landscaping -Allows large dogs -Has a playground for kids -Cheapest security deposit around Cons: -The maintenance department is a complete joke*. Whoever runs it is lazy and cheap. Nothing gets fixed correctly. They only offer bandaid solutions. -The office workers never answer the phone. They either send calls to voicemail or let the outside hotine answer (and the hotline people know absolutely nothing other than leasing info) -The smaller pool isn't the cleanest. There are a lot of large trees around so there are always leaves and bugs and the lifeguards won't skim or vacuum it. -Neighborhood was recently bought by a new property management company. They reduced the frequency of cleaning the common areas and spraying for bugs, added paid decal parking and jacked up the rent prices. *Maintenance: I have four examples of things I personally dealt with. 1.) Within a month of moving in, disgusting orange globs started running down the bathroom walls. I called maintenance and they sent someone out who left me a maintenance ticket that said I "need to clean better." I went to Lowe's to ask them about what would get rid of it. They told me it's nicotine from whoever lived there before me. Did some research online and sure enough, that's what it is. I have asthma and have never smoked in my life-- it isn't my mess to "clean better". I told the maintenance hotline this. They never sent anyone out. Every time I clean the walls, they're gross again within a day or two. 2.) The electric starter on our gas oven broke in the dead of winter. It took them an entire week to get a replacement part that the local Home Depot had in stock. 3.) There has been a huge (2 foot deep) hole in the groun next to the sidewalk leading up to my building. My dog fell in it when we first moved in and sprained her knee. I went to the leasing office, angry. They acted really concerned and told me they'd take care of it. They put an orange traffic cone in the hole and left it there all winter, then all spring. In early summer, one of the office people removed the cone but they never had the hole filled in. 4.) You can't speak directly to the maintenance people. You have to call a hotline, speak to someone who lives out of state, let them schedule it, and then wait around for someone to come out. Do not move here. There is a bad rodent infestation. They send Orkin out once a wk to throw the traps around and weekly they catch nothing. I've complained about wholes in the apartment and today was told by the Assistant property manager only the Orkin exterminator could tell them about the possible whole and than they would decide if they could fill it. Management is horrible very rude esp the property manager. Neighbors are getting worse, when you walk in the building all you smell is weed smoke. All you hear is Loud ratchet music. Neighbors hawk spit all outside the front door it's so bad where you have to hop scotch to prevent yourself from stepping in it. It reminds me of being down Lexington Market. I've complained and yet nothing. Than it's another neighbor who has the loudest car. He revs it up early in the morning and you can hear him coming before he even enters the parking lot. You will have it all if you move here. No one comes to clean the hallway, rails, door knobs nothing. Walls super thin. You can hear when neighbors walk up and down the hallway steps. Even opening/shutting their door. You can hear when someone flushes the toilet next door. Everything breaks down in here. Do yourself a favor don't waste your money or time. I lived here for one year and moved as soon as my lease was up because I can't live with rats! Leasing office tried to act like they didn't know their was an infestation despite the fact that it was obvious they were treating them as there were often dead rats on sidewalk. Literally the worst place I've ever lived. I have had 3 floods (1 by upstairs neighbor, 1 by refrigerator line, and 1 by air conditioning room). I have had maintenance come 7 (not exaggerating) times due to the air conditioning not working, I'd come home from work on a 90 degree day and walk into a 85 degree house. The first flood maintenance came in cut the carpet down the middle and aired it out and then reattached the carpet, leaving me with an ugly bride of chucky carpet. Now just today they were going to tow my vehicle because I park next to my motorcycle (Motorcycle in one spot and car slightly over the line next to the motorcycle to prevent it from being hit AGAIN) but both vehicles were in ONE SPOT EACH. When we moved in we were told our "Gas, water, and Trash Removal" was included in rent, it wasn't. Then when we complained they said it would never be more than $90 a month, surprise it's ALWAYS $95-$98. I can hear EVERYTHING my neighbors do, when they get up a 6AM it literally wakes me up. They've also had roofers and concrete workers start working at 7AM, WHO DOES THAT!?!?!? Do yourself a favor and spend the extra $50 buck a month to live somewhere else. EDIT 9/24: Called leasing office per response below, was met with a snarky male manager who was completely rude. They offered NO SOLUTION to make "my stay" here better, in fact it just seemed like they really didn't care. Also, I was informed that if you park over the line, that you will be towed. Also, if you park over the line because some other person parks over the line you can be towed too. The work around to that problem was to "park somewhere else". I asked to break my lease and was told I'd have to pay for 60 days - as I said BEWARE - DO NOT LIVE HERE!!!!! EDIT 1/22: I was very grateful that the leasing company did reach out to me provided me with a credit and did replace my carpet. That being said, we've just had our 4th "leak" this morning. While someone upstairs from us was cleaning a vacant apartment above us, water started leaking through our bathroom vent. FOUR leaks and floods in one year. Started off loving the place. It's located in a quiet neighborhood and not a ton of traffic. The apartment was nice and had a lot of space. The apt always felt damp but I ignored it. Then about a month and a half after moving in mold started to appear. It started to grow on my walls, in and around the vents, on furniture that wasn't used often, in my dresser drawers, on my camera cases in the closet, on the carpet around the vents and even on a picture frame. I am a traveling nurse and only leased the apt for 3 months and after reading reviews about the maintenance people, didn't really want to stir up anything so didn't mention it to the office. I did let my agency know though because I didn't want the complex to try to charge me for anything when I left. My agency said I had to say something to the office so I did. They said they would send a maintenance man to check it out but couldn't guarantee it would be the same day. I was fine w/ that because like I said, I wasn't going to say anything anyways. I left the office and went to the grocery store. When I got home I knew the maintenance person had been there because my dead bolt was locked and I only lock the knob lock. I looked around and didn't see anything had been done. I unloaded my groceries and washed my hands. When I went to dry them with my kitchen hand towel I noticed that there was a big wet moldy smear on the back of the towel. After that I looked more closely at the moldy areas in the apt and noticed that 1 side of the vent had been wiped. So the maintenance person spitefully used my kitchen towel to wipe some mold & hang it back on my stove handle with the mold to the back. That's pretty shady and sneaky. I didn't make a stink about the mold & wasn't even going to say anything but was told I had to. I could have demanded that they get it cleaned up because it looked like black mold but I didn't so I don't know why the person decided to take a little revenge. Nothing was ever done about the mold and I finished my lease and moved out. My garbage disposal never worked but I can live w/o one so didn't care. You would think that things like that would be checked prior to someone moving in. I just didn't care because I knew I would only be there for 3 months. This place has potential but I think that there is lack of pride by some of the workers which is hindering it's true potential. For the most part the office staff was friendly. If I would've throughly done my research I wouldn't have thought twice about moving here, this place is solely about their commission check, the staff basically " argues" with you when you tell them about issues in your apartment home. When I moved in nothing was fixed besides my updated kitchen. The washer was old and that didn't work, they" fixed it" and it still doesn't work. I HATE my apartment. Hate it, not worth the money. I wasn't given my lease the day of move in waited three weeks just to get it and I only got it because I called corporate to complain. Nothing here was fixed. Not even light fixtures and to make matters worse my air conditioner is broken!!!! now here's the icing on the cake I saw three mice in my house! I've been here literally a month and 1 week! my place is spotless, I have a trash can that is impossible for mice to get in. I have lived here for 2 years. The area is nice, and the pool, gym and computer lab are nice to have. The office staff for the most part is friendly, but not very efficient. There is NO cell phone service if you have Verizon or most other major cell phone carriers, which they do not tell you during the tour. i cannot make any calls in my apartment unless i walk outside, which is a pain. The MAJOR problem is the maintenance issues. If you call maintenance they say they are fixing the problem but don't know what they are doing. they fix the same problem over and over because they do not fix the major issue, just band aid it so to say. So i applied for an apartment and had to put $100 down to hold it, i was denied. I called and asked Carmen White when i will be getting my money she said 7-10 days, and would be given back the same way it was paid. I gave them the money by debit which is same as cash on April 19 2017, i am still waiting, and i found out yestetday that they mailed me a check, i didnt pay by check. Assholes!!! Just picked up my keys 2 weeks ago and I am not at all satisfied with this apartment complex. There definitely was no walk through done before I picked my keys up because the master bedroom door looked like it had been kicked in and it was cracked around the handle and the latch was falling off. The bedroom window screen was completely cracked in half where the metal that holds the screen in goes. Tile around bathroom toilet coming off from floor, missing blind slates in the living room where balcony door is, towel bar wasn't secured to wall. Just horrible. So after I wrote a bad review I was assured it would be fixed because the few convos I had prior to the review did nothing. Well the bedroom door was just caulked and painted over, you can still see damage and it looks horrible. They did fix the other issues but caulked the window screen as well so I guess to them caulk fixes everything. For the price you pay in rent, these apartments should look nice at move in. I only plan to be here as long as my lease says so. One year to go and I'm moving out. Make sure you look at your apartment before singing any paperwork. Just disgusted and pissed. If I could give no stars I definitely would, great way to make a first impression. read more

My fiance and I have been living at Skylark Pointe in Parkville MD and honestly the only bad things I can say are that the gym could use some expansion/updating and the office phone system could use some work. Every interaction we've had with the leasing office has been pleasant and helpful, and I can't sing the praises of maintenance enough. Whenever we have a maintenance emergency they are there within two hours. We'll leave for a quick trip to the grocery store and when we get back everything is fixed. We don't hear too much noise from other apartments, and for the first time in years I don't have to sleep with earplugs. The apartments themselves are really well made and beautifully designed. I love the space and layout of my unit, and I love the trees and the location because it is close to 1-95. I have been here for 3 months, and I highly suggest you do a walk through with a leasing member prior to moving in. Be particular about important things not working properly. I had a list of unbelievable proportions. For example, sliding glass door lock broken, shower not working, toilet didn't flush, kitchen sink disposal broken, kitchen sink clogged, and parts of the place were not cleaned at all. I went to the office and they were apologetic and quickly had the items repaired. However, the sliding door lock has been "fixed" twice, and it still doesn't work. I put in a 3rd request a week ago and am still waiting. Safety is also a concern for me here. There has been a lot of police activity here. Late night parties, loud music and drugs. There has also been broken glass in front of the trash receptacle for over a month now. I've seen maintenance picking up trash but the glass is just left there. I've been using a different one farther away so that my dogs don't get their paws cut. I was also confronted by a man, while walking my dogs a couple of days ago, who was obviously angry as he marched towards me. He was talking loudly to himself and when he approached me he was telling me that a maintenance man was in his girlfriends apartment for no obvious reason. As he walked by 3 police cars pulled up and arrested him. I heard a police helicopter and one of the officers asked if i saw a gun? I said no I didn't and they scoured the areas near my complex for it. So today, after waiting 5 days to get my toilet fixed there was a rather large man from "Morgan Properties" accompanying the maintenance man. I assumed he was protecting him. I have seen some very "high" residents barely walking without falling down the sidewalk. I am a nurse and could tell they were in la la land. I keep Narcan with me in case of witnessing an overdose. I have 9 months left on my lease here and unfortunately I won't be renewing it due to security concerns. read more
