Dr Shaher Khan was my surgeon on September 4th, 2025... In…read morethe mid-1980s I had breast implants placed above my muscle ("Meme" polyurethane covered implants) which I then replaced with "Mentor" textured silicone implants around 12 years later. Within one year the implants had formed Baker Grade 4 encapsulations (hard as a baseball and very painful) and had begun to impact my physical health in many unexpected ways. Leaving out all the details since, I had been searching the past 15 years for the "right surgeon" to once and for all remove from my body all of the toxicity and silicone that was physically possible. In late July 2025, I stumbled across Dr Shaher Khan. Within a few days and after watching countless videos of his, I knew that he was the one to do my surgery regardless of the fact that I was in Nevada and Dr Khan was in Michigan. I am currently 4 months and a few days plus post op and healing well. My profound thanks and appreciation from the bottom of my heart go out to Dr Shaher Khan and his staff (every one of them) for helping me by removing all of that ridiculously stupid silicone I opted to put into my body, when I was young and my mind was focused on "looks". My 'size' is about the same as prior to implant and that's okay because I cannot put into words how amazing it feels to get back to being 'it's all me', without those implants and all of the hardened encapsulated painful capsules that were there for far too many decades. The Center for Plastic Reconstructive Surgery is conveniently located on the 5th floor of the Reichert Building in the St. Joseph Hospital campus area (between Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti). It was close for me and that's where I headed with my husband accompanying me. My initial appointment was very positive. The staff (receptionist, financial office, nursing personnel and other support employees) are really welcoming, conversant, knowledgeable as they answered my many questions. The waiting room is quiet and orderly. The appointments are kept on-schedule. I had introductions to nursing staff who ushered me to this new world of repair after breast cancer and now to renewals for aging issues. I was really impressed by the teamwork that Dr. Beil's staff displayed; all of them had specific, supportive comments that they each shared about their professional relationship with this doctor. That made me feel at ease, too. When I actually met with Dr. Beil I found him to be very conversant, extremely knowledgeable and analytical about given situations as he offered suggested alternatives for me to consider. He reviewed the various things that he could do, estimated costs, surgery time, healing time, scheduling pre and post op appointments that would be needed. Dr. Beil is also blessed with a sense of humor. I felt comfortable as they encouraged me to call if I needed answers for follow-up questions. On-going communication is very open. I spent almost four years researching and looking for the right surgeon for my breast reduction. What makes Dr. Harake truly unique is his autoaugmentation breast reduction technique, which creates beautiful fullness and shape without implants. I could not find another surgeon offering the same approach, and the results exceeded all of my expectations. I am now four weeks after surgery, and my results are amazing.
