I've been seeing dermatologist for over 30yrs and she was the first one to recommend both sunscreen and lotion that work with my rosacea, and don't cause my skin to itch, dry out, or feel greasy! Thanks Doc! I also appreciated that she gave me a bunch of coupons for new products. Cons: As I was working that day I made an appt. for 7:30a assuming I'd be the first patient there. Nope. I arrived to find at least 4 other people in the waiting room. After waiting more than 30mins I was shown into a room. Chatted w doc for a few minutes before she left to have me answer more medical paperwork questions w an assistant. I had filled out my paperwork online before arriving, but the medical staff wasn't made aware of that, which caused my wait time to be even longer. I did mention to the assistant that I think I accidentally wrote down the wrong amt of mgs for one of my prescriptions and she said I'd have to fix that at the front desk...? Why? She was literally checking my medical history. And I want going to discuss my medicine at the front desk in front of an office full of people. Because of the medical paperwork snafu and the fact that more patients had arrived I waited and waited for the doctor. All told I was there for over an hour. Not a great first impression; will stay w my current derm.

Despite following up with assistants and the practice manager, I have received no resolution and was told she has to side with the doctor. This was a complete waste of my time. Requiring me to take time off work for repeated visits--only to wait two hours in the lobby without receiving the necessary care is unacceptable. I've referred people here and they always have wonderful things to say. As a background, I have been to other plastic surgeons and medspa businesses both in and outside the area and have never felt as comfortable as I do here. Dr.Z is patient, friendly, and honest. He will tell you what is realistic for your goals. The staff is great, too, and they even know my voice when I call on the phone. The one not so good experience I had was with a microneedling procedure with PRP (I'm not good with blood draws, so it was more my own fault), but they wanted me to have a positive experience and treated me to a complimentary facial the next time I came in. As for all the negativity, I really don't get it, other than there always will be those few disgruntled people. Not every surgeon is for everyone, and that's ok. However, i can't speak for other areas, but I have never been to one plastic surgeon who does not charge a fee for an initial COSMETIC consult (maybe the talented physicians in Beverly Hills are just so prevalent, or they're so rich they can spend time on free consults day in and day out). This fee can be applied to a procedure, and I've always thought that was standard practice. Dr. Z also works with residents, so it's usually him, a nurse, and a resident in the room. The future surgeons and doctors have to learn, too. I found him on RealSelf, where there are lots of reviews. I would also encourage you to look him up on Instagram or Facebook. He is continually trying to push his laser services and ancillary services that fix his botched surgeries. I truly believe this is a strategy for him to make more. He makes grandiose claims about laser results that are false. Also, he is associated with Huron Valley hospital, which is a terrible hospital and leaves you with serious injuries. Check out their reviews for validation. He will tell you what you want to hear but he speaks untruths. BEWARE!

I returned 3 more times, saw 4 different people, a different one for each visit, got the wrong diagnosis, no proper follow up, and no biopsy was taken until I asked for one on the third visit. They only prescribed my steroid pills and cream, and no proper research was done. Finally, they said it was an allergy, at which point I went to the head of the Allergy department at Henry Ford Hospital. He said it was not an allergy at all, and I needed to see a good Dermatologist. I went to the Dermatology department at Henry Ford Hospital; they took a new biopsy and diagnosed me with Grover's disease in less than two weeks. They told me to stop taking all the steroid cream and prescribed a 3-step plan for my disease. I will NEVER return to Eastside again, and I recommend no one else goes to them either. Also, the visits were extremely short and yet they charged for each one. I wrote them a letter and refused to pay for unprofessional service and inaccurate information.
