While looking for a contractor I contact three, WyCO and two from the Ft. Collins area. The contractors from Colorado were easy to talk to but I just didn't think they understood how much wind we get here in Cheyenne. After talking to Kevin from WyCO, not only was his price lower than the others, I feel we got a system installed that will definitely hold up to the winds of Wyoming. Both the footings and brackets are more than what was probably needed and the installation process was very quick and easy. Kevin and his crew handled everything from permitting to final inspection. Also, since I moved from Oregon, I wanted to use SolarWorld panels (made in Beaverton, Oregon), Kevin said that he always used SolarWorld Panels and his crew said that all of the parts they used were Made in the USA, no imported steel. The other two contractors wanted to use foreign panels. I would definitely use WyCO again and highly recommend anyone looking at either solar or wind energy for their home, give them a call.

Had electrical outlet in living room that quit working. It was more that we could fix by replacing…read morethe outlet. Was referred to The Electric and Solar Specialist by a friend of owner. They returned our call and came out immediately. There was an issue with the wire in the wall, so they had to rerun wire for the outlet, it was definitely more complicated that just replacing the outlet. Israel and Aaron were very considerate while removing wood paneling wall covering and sheetrock to access needed junctions. They ended up spending half a day, tracing wires and rewiring the wall outlet. Pricing seemed fair for the work, even though it took longer than any of us thought it would. They cleaned up and put things back to the best of their ability, ran the new wiring behind the base board no no visible sheet rock damage. We had them quote fixing a 220v heater, installing 2 new 220v thermostats, running electrical to our detached garage, and upgrading the electrical box. We ended up hiring them to do all that work as well as an additional outdoor light fixture. They got all the appropriate permits and inspections (we've worked with some that don't even though they say they do) A very good experience with Quality workmanship, very considerate to clean up after themselves, and conscience of their work and environment.

Business has failed to finish job; "breach of contract" because he "was afraid we wouldn't pay him". He is currently suing us for "nonpayment of invoices" outside our original agreement. Has forced me to hire another contractor to finish the work. Apparently intends to place a lien on our property at 9906 Fox Ridge Drive, Cheyenne outside our contract terms. He has repeatedly wanted to "change the agreement terms", has repeatedly "demanded we pay him in full even though he hasn't finished the job", and to date has refused to come back to finish the job. Because of his demonstrated smart-mouth, hot-headedness, egocentric nature and trigger temper, he has shown a great lack of business knowledge, no customer satisfaction knowledge, and gross lack of personal or business integrity.

Photon Brothers wasted 6 months of my time and cost me roughly $17,000 due to their negligence. I repeat, DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES CHOOSE PHOTON BROTHERS. There are many solar companies out there, take your business elsewhere!! This is a company that puts customer service LAST and will throw you under the bus and leave you hanging the when issues arise and they need to do something that inconveniences them or impacts their bottom line despite contracts, written and verbal promises and basic honorable/professional business norms. Our family moved into our new home in June and immediately began comparing solar proposals. I ultimately chose Photon because Sam Johnson (senior sales rep) appeared knowledgeable. I was explicit with Sam about the type of roof and shingle I had--I even sent him the official documentation from the roofing company detailing the type of roof and shingle. He assured me multiple times that Photon could handle it and told me he had built extra labor costs into the contract for exactly that reason. We signed a contract and approved financing. Then came the site visit with the installation supervisor, Drew Perry. I was on the roof with Drew as he inspected everything. He told me directly that the roof was suitable and we were "good to go." Every step of the way, Photon reassured me the system would be installed before year-end so I would receive substantial expiring federal tax credits. Throughout this process, I repeatedly checked in with the project manager, Kaitlyn Martinez. Responses were rare, slow, and unhelpful--but when she did reply, she also confirmed everything was on track for installation before year end. Install day--November 24--was when it all fell apart. Only that morning did the installation team realize they had completely overlooked the shingle type and couldn't install the system, even though I had disclosed this upfront and even though their own supervisor had inspected the roof in person. The install crew told me they messed up and would make it right and still get it done before year end. Kaitlyn (project manager) called--one of the only times she ever did--and assured me there would be no added cost and they would still complete the project by year end, I was reassured again that they would uphold the contract and their promises. That turned out to be untrue. After several incredibly frustrating conversations with Sam and co-owner John Johnson, where I had to constantly call them for updates, I was finally told that Photon would NOT complete the project at all. They openly admitted they made the mistake but refused to honor the contract or their repeated promises because it would cost them more in labor. John specifically told me that--even though the error was entirely on their side--they were not willing to take the financial hit to fix it and I was just out of luck. They refused any sort of compensation for my lost time and money. John initially tried to blame me because I had a difficult roof, then blamed Drew Perry (instillation supervisor), then blamed his Ops team then just told me verbatim "construction is difficult" and I need to understand that, so too bad for me. As a result, I've lost more than six months of time and a ~$17,000 tax credit, all because Photon Brothers failed to do their job, failed to communicate, and then refused to take responsibility for their own mistake. Based on my experience, I would strongly caution anyone considering this company. They overpromise, underdeliver, and when their internal failures come to light, they deflect, delay, and ultimately leave the customer holding the bag. I cannot recommend them under any circumstances.

I was pleased to find that REenergizeCO did them all and were more than just an installer but on mission to increase energy efficiency. From start to finish communication was fantastic. They first did the insulation and we noticed a difference almost immediately. They also took care of submitting the Xcel rebate paperwork for it. The solar panels and EVSE came a bit later. Again, they took care of all the paperwork with Xcel. The system has been working without flaw since and saving us tons of money in this inflated energy cost environment. We had them out recently to detach and reset the panels for a roof replacement. They took the opportunity to slightly tweak the layout for better efficiency. Still the same commitment to quality!

The process with Sandbox was great from beginning to end. They installed a 6.5 kWH system, upgraded…read moreour electrical service, and installed an EV charger. There were a few hiccups out of their control such as delay in obtaining a new electrical panel (supply chain shortage), snow storm pushing back install, and the crew lead coming down with COVID. Despite these hiccups, the communication was great throughout the whole process. The final install went smoothly, they paid close attention to detail, and finished the whole thing in two half days. They have provided great support in answering our questions after the installation. For example one of our micro inverters failed and they came down the same day to replace it, even though it's a 1.5 hour drive from their location to our house in Denver. They even helped us apply for Denver County rebates and provided the needed information for our EV Charger rebatel. I have recommended them to multiple friends looking to get solar installed on their houses. I love supporting a local small business and they are one that deserves to be supported.
